Story
Hi, I'm Minnie! I'm a young husky from down south that landed in Michigan after busting out of a shelter with my babies. We stayed cozy and worked on ourselves this winter and are ready to join our forever families just in time for spring! Don't you want a walking buddy before it gets REALLY nice out there? My foster family has said that I'm the sweetest and quietest husky they have ever met. They have yet to hear me give them a "real" howl, whatever that means. They say that maybe I will someday, maybe I won't. Like most huskies, I do love to do zoomies in their fenced backyard, I love walks, and they say that I "hoard" the toys, whatever that means. I've been working on joining my foster family's adult dogs, there's 2 of them and 1 of me so it can be a little intimidating, but we've all had cozy couch time and they've taken everything really slow for me.  I walk nicely on a leash, on group walks I prefer to be the lead dog, so I show my excitement a bit more. When I'm on a one on one walk they say I don't pull and am easily redirected if I see something interesting (like a squirrel.) I'm working on kennel time, and have started to go to my kennel on my own when I want to relax. They also say I haven't touched anything that I shouldn't (like shoes or books) so I could probably free range in your home depending on the situation. I sleep all night either in my kennel at the foot of the bed or some nights in the bed, foster parents are pretty cool like that   I've met some kids and they seem cool, but I don't live with any right now so might need time to adjust if you're adding me to a family with human kiddos. Sometimes when I'm excited to see my people, I come up to say hello asap, so bigger kids might be better than the little little ones.  As a husky, I might be a little too interested in small animals, hard to say with 100% certainty because I don't live with any now. I'm hard at work in the backyard trying to clear it of moles, but despite my best efforts I haven't done more than scare them so far.  Anyway, that's a bit about me! I'm excited to meet you because I LOVE people!! Complete an adoption application today at this link:  https://www.happyfeetpetrescue.com/adopt A note from Minnie's foster family: We hope you liked what Minnie shared above, if you have any specific questions about her, please connect with Happy Feet and we will all do our best to answer them! We love this sweet girl, she's affectionate and playful and we have been honored to help her get ready to meet her forever family. ##2619827##

Story
Meet Biscuit! Biscuit and his siblings didn’t get the easy start every pup deserves, but you’d never know it from their sweet, happy spirits today. They were found by kind-hearted Good Samaritans in a suburb of Houston known, heartbreakingly, for its cruelty toward animals. The puppies were alone, without their mother, and we may never know what happened, whether she was separated from them or worse. What we do know is that these babies had to grow up far too fast, facing the world without the comfort and care every puppy should have. Thankfully, their story didn’t end there. With the help of their rescuers and dedicated fosters, these little ones are now safe, loved, and absolutely thriving. They are learning what it means to be cared for and to have full bellies, soft beds, gentle hands, and kind voices. And they are soaking it all up. Each of these pups is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful. They love to explore, snuggle, and bounce around like happy little puppies should. Their personalities are just starting to shine, and it’s been amazing to watch them blossom more each day. We don’t know their exact breed since mom and dad are a mystery, but we expect they’ll grow to be medium-sized dogs. As of March 22, they are approximately 8 weeks old which is just the perfect age to start their next chapter with a forever family. Again, we are very limited on their history so their ages, breed and expected size are estimates. Because of their rough start, they will need adopters who are patient, loving, and committed to continuing their journey and who will teach them, guide them, and show them that the world is a safe and wonderful place. Adopters also need to be committed to further socialization and training for these puppies. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and want to be part of a beautiful rescue story, one of these puppies could be your perfect match. They’ve already survived the hardest part—now they just need someone to love them forever. Biscuit is currently living in his foster home in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to many locations across the country. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport fees. If you think Biscuit could be your perfect match, apply today! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog

Story
A is for all the affection I have to give V is for my vivacious nature E is for easing into new friendships R is for my refreshing outlook on life I is for the incredible adventures we will have together E is for my enthusiasm in everything I do! I hear people-pleasing is supposed to be exhausting....but not for me! Being the young little lady that I am, my potential is as high as your dedication! It is very satisfying to utilize this beautiful brain I have, to make my friends (and my future family) happy. I won't lie to you; I am still growing out of some "puppy habits" (mouthing when I am overly excited) but rest assured, positive redirection and consistency will make for a quick remedy. Because I am still learning my size and appropriate play behavior, I might be best suited for older children that have a sturdy stance. Who needs a television when you could have me to keep you entertained! My enthusiasm is expressed in such a dorky way. I like to zoom around and try my best to impersonate a professional contortionist by folding over like a pretzel with my behind in the air! I am really excited to play with other dogs too, its a great way to let my antics out before we hunker down in bed for the night. Don't wait too long, if you like it....then you should put a collar on it. Take the first steps by submitting your adoption application to the website below! DOB: 2/12/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
This is really hard…. Barrett is my best friend and I don’t want this but my work and school schedule I don’t have enough time or help. I would love it if someone would let me see him from time to time. I put he doesn’t get along with dogs because he hates male dogs. A mellow medium to large female dog with slow introduction would be best. He typically stays between 49lbs-55lbs depending on time of year, mood, stressors.

Story
Hi my name is Mr. Pibb! I am a shy dog by nature, so meeting new people can put me in a bit of a ruff spot. But I recently was lucky enough to go to a foster home, and my new foster parent says I have been adjusting well and that I am gentle, well-mannered in the home, and so sweet! I even seem to know some commands! I am working on getting more confident and comfortable. Can you be my safe person? Reach out to the adoptions team to arrange a meeting with me!Mr. Pibb is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
