Story
Grizzly Grizzly is a male Husky mix. DOB: Nov. 15th,2023 Adoption fee: $225.00 I am a pup on the go!! But I always have time to slow down for some love and kisses. There is no guarantee on size, although my group appears to be on the petite size. I should be roughly between 40 and 60 pounds when full grown. I will require a physically fenced in yard, pending previous experience, location, and/or other plans for containment. I am not fit for apartment life. I should do well with other dogs pending a meet/greet and can be trained with a dog friendly cat. Pending observed interaction, I should do well with children 8 years and older. I do not appear to be the laid back, couch potato type of dog. Those who apply should be prepared for an active puppy into adulthood. If you are interested in being my adopter, please visit my shelter's website and complete the adoption application that is available there! HSSCM.org you can find the applications under the "adoptions" tab.

Story
Margarita (Margo) Margarita is a Female Husky/Shepherd mix DOB: February of 2022 Adoption fee: $125.00 Not much information was supplied on my past when I arrived at the shelter, other than I had a litter or two of puppies in my past. I was very nervous at first, but the staff was very compassionate and patient with me. I am much more comfortable now. My personality can be somewhat aloof. I am an observer, and I may not be super adventurous until I can trust my handlers. I do not mind getting silly and playful. My puppyhood may not have been a normal happy puppy’s life so as I get more comfortable you will see more and more of that puppy behavior come out. I will require a physically fenced yard. I would do best in a calmer home atmosphere. Older children 12+. I may match with another dog pending a meet and greet. I have not been tested with cats. I have a big heart and I would love a home of my very own. I will be a very loyal companion/friend for the right situation

Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
