This beautiful girl has a calm, gentle soul and an affectionate personality that's impossible not to adore. Whether she's relaxing on the couch, chewing on a favorite toy, enjoying a leisurely walk, or soaking up belly rubs, Sadie is content just spending time with her family. With her incredibly soft coat and laid-back personality, she's the kind of dog who brings peace wherever she goes. Sadie Loves: * Belly rubs * Cuddling * Car rides * Playing with other dogs * Playing with toys * Chewing bones * Napping * Quiet time with her people * Relaxing at home Sadie's Favorite Thing: Being close to her family. Sadie loves affection and happily accepts every cuddle, belly rub, and gentle scratch she can get. She's just as happy lounging beside you as she is joining you for a quiet walk or a relaxing afternoon adventure. A Gentle Soul: Sadie is wonderfully laid back and incredibly easy to live with. She enjoys walks and outings but doesn't need constant activity to be happy. She's perfectly content entertaining herself with a toy before curling up beside you for a nap. One of the things her foster loves most is how quietly Sadie communicates. She isn't a dog that barks just to hear herself bark. When she whines or lets out a bark, she's genuinely trying to tell you something. It's one of the many little things that makes her so special. Her foster describes her as "gentle, calm, and incredibly soft", inside and out. A Few Things to Know: * House trained with a consistent routine * Crate trained * Knows "Sit," "Down," and "Come" * Loves other dogs * Loves children * Would do best in a home without cats * Medium energy level * Friendly with everyone she meets * May jump up when excited * Can counter surf if tempting snacks are left unattended * Occasionally has selective hearing, especially if something interesting catches her attention Great Activities for Sadie: * Quiet neighborhood walks * Hiking adventures * Park visits * Coffee shop patios * Car rides * Running errands * One-on-one bonding time * Relaxing at home * Indoor enrichment Best Match: * First-time dog owners * Calm households * Family-friendly homes * Active adopters who also enjoy relaxing at home * Patient families * Homes without cats Three Words That Describe Sadie Best: ❤️ Gentle ❤️ Calm ❤️ Soft Foster Location: Chippewa Falls, WI **Meet & Greet Availability:** Sadie's foster is happy to meet approved adopters within approximately 30 minutes of their home. Sadie is the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much, just a family to love, a cozy place to nap, and someone willing to give plenty of belly rubs. In return, she'll give you unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and a heart full of unconditional love. If you're looking for a beautiful, affectionate companion with a calm spirit and the softest coat you've ever felt, Sadie may be the perfect addition to your family. Ready to meet Sadie? Story
Meet Balto! Balto's story could have ended very differently. Instead, it became a story of resilience, hope, and a dog who never stopped believing in people. Balto recently celebrated his second birthday and is proof that your past does not define your future. Despite spending part of his life surviving on the streets of Mexico and later finding himself in a shelter facing an uncertain fate, Balto has remained one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you could ever hope to meet. His foster says it best: "Some might think that a pup who lived on his own for so long might be aggressive or unable to bond with people. Not our boy Balto! Balto has defied the odds. He is the sweetest boy who loves dogs, cats, and people. He is not food aggressive and will gently take treats. He is playful with people and other dogs. Sometimes we have to tell him we are tired of playing. He loves to snuggle and is such a ham! He enjoys being brushed and soaking up the sun. When he is tired at night, he puts himself to bed. He is one amazing pup. The easiest foster in my time of hosting pups." Balto's Story Balto spent part of his life living on the streets of Mexico, fending for himself and surviving however he could. Eventually, he made his way to a shelter. Unfortunately, despite his wonderful personality, he was unable to find a home and found himself at high risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, Balto was given a second chance and made the journey to Wisconsin, where he has quickly become a favorite among everyone who meets him. Despite everything he has been through, Balto has never lost his ability to trust, love, and enjoy life. Balto's Favorite Activities * Playing with other dogs * Playing with toys * Sniffing and exploring * Going for walks * Car rides * Chewing on bones * Cuddling with his people * Watching TV together * Napping * Meeting new people * Zooming around the yard * Sunbathing * Being brushed * Relaxing at home Balto is the perfect combination of playful and relaxed. He loves a good play session, but he's equally happy curling up beside you for a quiet evening at home. What Balto Is Working On Balto has adapted beautifully to life in a home and has very few challenges. His foster family is helping him continue to improve: * Leash manners * Counter surfing habits * Basic household routines He is house-trained, crate-trained, and eager to please. Balto is food motivated, gentle, and easy to work with, making him a wonderful companion for families of all experience levels. Balto's Ideal Home Balto is incredibly adaptable and would thrive in many different types of homes, including: * First-time dog owners * Families with children * Homes with other dogs * Homes with cats * Active families * More relaxed households looking for a companion Balto absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. He also does well with cats and has shown that he can peacefully coexist with them. He adores children and is especially gentle with younger kids, making him a wonderful family dog. Why You'll Love Balto Balto is one of those rare dogs who seems to love everyone and everything. He is affectionate without being demanding. Playful without being overwhelming. Gentle without being timid. Whether he's making you laugh with his goofy personality, soaking up the sunshine, cuddling on the couch, or putting himself to bed at night like a perfect gentleman, Balto has a way of making every day a little brighter. His journey has been remarkable, but his favorite chapter is still waiting to be written. Could that chapter be with you? Apply to adopt at tailsofhopewi.org Fostered in Black River Falls, WI.
