Story
Meet Odin, a captivating dog whose striking appearance is matched only by his gentle soul. With a luxurious coat that turns heads, Odin’s eyes reflect both wisdom and a touch of cautious curiosity around new people. He may be reserved at first, but with patience and kindness, he quickly reveals a loyal, affectionate nature. Odin thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he can feel safe and secure. He would do best in a home without children, where he can relax and build trust at his own pace. He’s also great with cats and settles well when kenneled or left home alone, making him a solid fit for a quieter household. Regular brushing will keep Odin’s beautiful coat in top condition—something he enjoys as part of his routine. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with both beauty and heart, Odin could be the perfect match. Adoption fee is $350 plus tax; apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Crue is an 8-month-old husky mix who was surrendered to MCHS on 4/9/2026. He is a very striking young dog with icy blue eyes like a husky, and we were told he's also mixed with terrier. He may keep a person on their toes, given this combination of breeds! He's a nice-sized boy who is not too large and not too small. He will be vet checked and neutered on April 28th and his fee is $150. Crue is an active young dog who will require regular exercise and some training. He is at a wonderful age for training. He is a little skittish at first, but is otherwise friendly and affectionate. He likes the company of other dogs and definitely keeps a close eye on people when he's comfortable with them. We think he'll be a bit of a "velcro" dog. He has done okay with older kids but hasn't had any real experience with cats. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 27, 2026, 3:19 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Flint arrived from the city pound on 1/26/2026. His legal stray hold was finished and no one had claimed him. He's approximately 3 to 4 years old, and he looks to be a husky/shepherd type mix. There could be some Australian shepherd or collie in there, too. He is very loving and personable. He has been fully vetted and microchipped and his fee is reduced to $100. Flint is an active dog who will require regular exercise. He is pretty well mannered and seems to have had a little training but more training is always a plus. He is bright and eager to please. We do think he would do okay with other dogs. He's a happy guy who loves attention. He has been a pretty easy resident to have at our shelter. He doesn't cause any problems and he keeps a perfectly clean kennel. We think he would be okay with older kids. We have no way of knowing about cats. Special Needs: Flint has been observed having a few nonviolent seizures at the shelter. Our vet was consulted and decided to put him on gabapentin to manage the seizures and stop them from becoming more damaging and violent. If the seizures worsen, he will have to go on phenobarbital. Flint also tested positive for Lyme disease, and it's uncertain whether the seizures were caused by the Lyme. Flint is doing well on the medication and is physically healthy, but a potential adopter should be aware of this and willing to monitor him and give him medication for life, if he continues to need it. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on 9/29/2024, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's around 3 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org.
