Story
Meet Elsa ❄️ – A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Forever Home Elsa is a beautiful 3-year-old husky mix with soft, soulful eyes and a heart full of love. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet and playful personality shines through. Elsa thrives in a calm and patient home. She loves gentle affection, soft voices, and relaxing walks. She’s crate-trained, making great progress on leash walking and basic commands like sit. Potty training is still a work in progress, so she’ll benefit from a predictable routine and continued support. She would do best in a home with adults or older children who understand her need for a slow, gentle introduction to new things. A calm, confident dog friend could help her continue building trust and confidence. If you believe in love built on trust and patience, Elsa might be the perfect match. With a little time and a lot of love, this shy girl will melt into your heart—and stay there forever. 💙 Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Maya is a senior Husky Golden Retriever mix with the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. She is truly one of those dogs that everyone falls in love with the moment they meet her. Maya is gentle, patient, and incredibly kind with everyone she encounters. She has a little bit of that classic Husky confidence, what some might lovingly call a superiority complex, but it only adds to her charm. Maya gets along with everyone and welcomes attention from anyone she meets. She is a snuggler who loves hugs, but she is also very good at communicating when she wants her own space. She is independent, calm, and not clingy or demanding. Maya is blind, and at 12 years old she does need some assistance at times. That said, she adapts beautifully. She quickly memorizes her surroundings, learns the layout of a room, and confidently does her own thing much of the time. She would do best in a home willing to offer a little extra patience and guidance, and in return she gives endless love and trust. She loves walks and absolutely adores the snow. Cold weather makes her light up, and she enjoys exploring the world at her own pace. Maya is friendly with everyone she meets and has a calm, steady presence that makes her a wonderful companion. Maya is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years feeling safe, cherished, and understood. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

***This dog is being housed at the Rochester Animal Control facility. In order to meet him, you need to fill out an adoption application first. These can be found on the homepage of the Paws and Claws Humane Society Website. Once you submit your application, a staff member will reach out with next steps.***Meet Thane... pronounced `Taw-nee`.This older girl found her way to the Rochester Animal Control when her owner sadly passed away and she had no where else to go. Thane is a 9 and a half year old husky and weighs about 66 pounds. Her ideal home would be one where her people are home often or when they do leave, take her with them. She gets nervous and stressed when she is alone for long periods as she just misses her people!Thane is on the older side and has some mild discomfort in her hips and back. A single level home or a home with limited stairs would be the best for her. Even though she is considered a senior, she still has plenty of spunk and energy left in her! She would love to be able to go on walks with her family or explore a backyard. **Adult only home**If you think your home is well suited for Thane, apply online today!Adoption fee is $150 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on 9/29/2024, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's around 2 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 14, 2025, 12:05 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Flint arrived from the city pound on Jan. 26th. His legal stray hold was finished and no one had claimed him. He appears to be an approximately 3 year old husky/shepherd mix. There could be some Australian shepherd or collie in there, too. He is very loving and personable. He is already neutered and we will get him fully vet checked, vaccinated, and chipped in February. His fee is $150. Flint is an active dog who will require regular exercise. He is pretty well mannered and seems to have had a little training but more training is always a plus. He is bright and eager to please. Because he is so new to us, we're still getting to know him and don't yet know how he is with other dogs. We think he would be okay with older kids. We have no way of knowing about cats. I came from an Indigenous reservation in South Dakota, and now I’m ready to start the next chapter of my life with a forever family of my very own.I’m an active girl who loves to run, play, explore, and make new friends. People? Love them. Other dogs? Absolutely — the more the merrier. If you’re looking for a buddy to join you on hikes, jogs, or just fun everyday outings, I’m your girl.If you think we might be a perfect match, submit an adoption application online so we can meet in person. I can’t wait to wag my way into your life.
