Elwood spent at least four days roaming as a stray before someone finally called him in, and now this 1-year-old Husky mix is ready for a place to call his own. At 50 pounds, Elwood is a friendly, affectionate pup who loves nothing more than getting some attention and settling in for cuddles. He’s also a smart guy who genuinely enjoys training and already knows sit, down and shake. Give him some treats and he’s more than happy to show off what he knows. He loves zooming around, playing fetch and bringing his toys right back so you can do it all over again. He’s treat motivated, eager to learn and would love a family who will give him plenty of time, attention and opportunities to keep his busy brain occupied. When he’s ready to slow down, he’s happy to lounge around in the pool or right by your side. He’s also done well meeting other dogs at the shelter in passing and seems very curious about making some canine friends. Between his playful energy, love of training and obsession with cuddles, Elwood would be a fun addition to an active home ready to keep his young Husky brain busy. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet/adopt, visit us in Greensboro, NC from 12-4pm any day except Tuesdays; no appointment needed.

Meet Runna! Runna came to the shelter after her owner passed away, but is ready for a fresh start and an adopter. Due to the extent of a past leg fracture that had not healed correctly, Runna will need a leg amputation at the time of her adoption. This procedure and any medications sent home with her will be fully covered by her adoption fee. Thankfully, Runna hasn’t had to spend much time at the shelter and is currently enjoying life in a foster home while she waits for her next family. She has been an amazing house guest in foster care. Runna gets along wonderfully with her foster family’s cats and children and has shown just how comfortable she can be in a home. Runna is waiting in foster care for someone who can give her stability while she gets ready for her next chapter. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. Meet the Duffle Bag Puppies! These seven adorable Chihuahua mix puppies have quite the story. A man walked into a local shelter carrying a duffle bag, quietly set it on the front counter, and left without saying a word. When shelter staff opened the bag, they were shocked to discover seven tiny puppies tucked safely inside. Thankfully, despite their unusual start, all seven puppies were healthy, active, and full of playful puppy energy. They have since been thriving in foster care and are now ready to begin the next chapter of their lives—with loving families of their own. This litter includes 2 boys and 5 girls. While we believe they will remain on the smaller side, we know very little about their parents or background, so their adult size is only an estimate. Each puppy has their own unique personality, so take a look through their individual profiles and let us know if you have a favorite. We can't wait to help these resilient little pups find the forever homes they deserve! I'm Tot! I am a typical boy. I love to run around and play with the foster kitties in the house. Since I am teething, I am always looking for something to put in my mouth. I like foster mom's shoestring, but she prefers my puppy pacifier. (She's no fun!) I try so hard to climb up on the couch but just can't do it, so foster mom picks me up, then I curl up next to her. I love playing with my siblings because we keep each other entertained. My all-time favorite thing to do is EAT!
