Email interests directly to fostering family at: caring4others25@gmail.com Koda is: * Turned 1 year old in May 2025 * Neutered with all shot records & flea prevention up to date / current * Potty/ crate trained in indoor dog playpen (used when left alone during the day and to sleep at night). * Super smart, very trainable (treat and food motivated) * Knows basic commands (sit, stay, paws, kiss, go me-me which means bedtime)... videos to show these cute things about him. * Plays fetch (he loves human interaction) * Loves his chew toys (needs non-destructive aggressive chewing toys only) * He has a daily & nightly routine with crate / playpen enclosure. * Occasional nausea / sickness in car rides, but does well in car after a while. * Hasn’t had any cat interaction * Not sure about smaller kids or dogs due to playful energy. * More practice on leash walking and socializing with dogs would complement his training that he already obtained.

Story
Meet Draco! This 5-year-old, 62-lb stunner is a calm, gentle soul with the softness of a cloud and the heart of a loyal companion. For a husky, he’s impressively mellow—low energy, easygoing, and happiest simply being near his people. Draco is wonderfully easy to handle. He comes in and out of the kennel without a fuss, walks beautifully on leash, and keeps a relaxed pace. At first, he likes to sniff around and take in his surroundings, and once he’s satisfied, he’ll just settle down and relax. He seems well on his way to being fully house-trained and is very motivated by treats, though toys don’t really catch his interest. In the car, Draco is calm and content once he’s inside, but he does need a little boost getting in. He also needs encouragement with stairs—nothing a patient adopter can’t help him with. He already knows “sit” and is the type of dog who learns quickly with gentle guidance and structure. Above all, Draco is an incredibly loving, serene dog. He’s the kind of companion who brings quiet comfort and steady affection to any home. If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back partner to share peaceful days with, Draco is ready to steal your heart. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Hi! Koda is a 1-year-old male Husky. He is fully vaccinated for this year, has rabies vaccination through late next year, and is microchipped and neutered. He is very chill and doesn’t bark unless bothered. He isn’t a big fan of crates, but he will go in one if needed. He is fully house-trained and always uses the bathroom outside. Koda loves car rides and walks. He will take advantage of open spaces, so he does best in a secure area or on a leash. He does great with other dogs very playful. He does not fight with them just licks them and tries to get as close as possible. He gets very nervous around female dogs. He has not been around cats so I’m not sure what that would be like. People he does very well around will jump up on you to begin with but that’s just because he wants hugs, cuddles and kisses.
