Story
This is Kirby. He’s is 4 (5 on oct 19). He is up to date and on heartworm preventative. He would do best as the only pet (he has some issues with his current siblings). He likes older kids! He is a big baby and loves to cuddle. He’s the best dog to hug ever. He does have some unspecified pain issues. (Current owner has meds but unable to afford sedation and X-rays). **Kirby is not at CCHS. If you are interested in learning more or adopting Kirby please email cchsshelter@yahoo.com. We will get you in contact with the owner**

Story
Meet Princess! 👑 On January 2, 2026, this beautiful girl was surrendered to the shelter when her owner was no longer able to care for her. Princess is as sweet as she is pretty, and while she was surely sad to leave her family, she’s ready to start a new chapter and find her happily ever after. Princess is 7 years old, spayed, and current on all her vaccinations. She’s a great medium-sized girl with a loving personality. Her previous owner shared that she does well with children and other dogs. As always, children should be gentle and respectful—no pulling ears or tails and no climbing—so everyone stays happy and safe. Princess is missing the comforts of home and would love nothing more than a cozy place and a family to call her own again. Stop by the shelter to meet her and see if she might be the perfect fit for your home. ❤️

Story
Meet Max — The Handsome Escape Artist with a Heart of Gold! 🐾❤️ This sweet and striking boy is Max, a 2.5-year-old pup who was surrendered to the shelter on October 9, 2025, after his previous owner could no longer manage his clever escape antics. Don’t let that nickname “Houdini” scare you off—Max is just a curious guy who loves to explore and be near his people! Max is fully vetted and full of love. He appears to have some vision difficulty in his remaining good eye, but it doesn’t slow him down or dull his spirit one bit. In fact, Max is incredibly affectionate and adores every moment spent with those he trusts. He’s loyal, loving, and always eager for connection. Max would thrive in a secure home with a tall fenced-in yard where he can run, play, and stretch his legs safely—followed by some quality cuddle time inside with his people. He’s not just looking for a home; he’s looking for his person—someone who will give him the safety, structure, and love he deserves. Come by and meet Max. You might just find your new best friend waiting with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart. 🐶💕

Story
Athena is a young female husky approximately 1.5 years old. A good dog who is very eager to please. Up to date on shots and heartworm/ Flea and tick medicine. Loves to cuddle, loves to have head rubs/ belly scratches, and certainly loves a treat. Like most huskies she is high energy and requires a lot of active time. Would highly recommend a yard with a fence for her to be able to explore and burn off some excess energy. We walk her twice a day, but leash skills could be improved. Needs a loving owner who is committed to having a husky in their life. She is still very young and will mellow out with time. She can interact with other dogs but prefers attention to be on her, so for that reason I would recommend her being the only dog or for your dog to have already established dominance in the house. We took her in from someone who was going to have her put into a shelter, so we took her but now she needs her own home! Will answer any questions, Thanks!

Story
This sweet Husky mix is a goofy, affectionate boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for attention. He enjoys being around people and gets along well with everyone he meets, including cats. He loves to frolic in the backyard and enjoys going on walks, especially when he can explore at his own pace. While he can be dog selective, slow and thoughtful introductions are important to help set him up for success. With patience, consistency, and love, he will thrive and make a loyal, loving companion for the right home.
