Story
Hazel is a 4-year-old, 60 lb. Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix who was dumped at a shelter pregnant last summer. She had 8 beautiful pups and has been patiently waiting on someone to choose her. Hazel is dog selective and is an alpha. She should be okay with another dog as long as she is the alpha and has a slow introduction. She was excellent with her pups as they got older and found homes. She is more relaxed with other dogs around and awaits patiently for the other dogs to come out to run with her up and down the fence at her foster home (there is a fence in between). She has done fine with a younger female dog and has played with her, but she did not so well with another dominant female. Hazel is super sweet and loves to run, play, and be pet and loved on. She has just had a rough go of it and takes time to build trust. She has a lot of energy and needs a lot of exercise. Hazel will need a patient person to give her plenty of love and attention.

Story
Patches is 8 months old and is such a sweet boy who is dog and kid friendly. He is also house trained as well. Patches is just a happy go lucky boy. He has been waiting for over 6 months for his home. We pulled Hazel, Patches' mom, from Duplin County Animal Shelter last summer. Hazel was going to be euthanized at the shelter. Hazel ended up being pregnant when we pulled her and two of her pups are still left and one is Patches. We do not know what breed the father was, but Hazel is a Siberian Husky/Shepherd Mix.

Story
Baxter is approximately four months old and came to us as a stray. He is likely a German shepherd/husky mix and is an adorable guy with one brown and one blue eye. He is extremely sweet and loving. He is good with my dog so we think he would love a doggie brother or sister. The foster doens't have children but based on personality we think he would be good with children. He has been totally housebroken and learned to use the doggie door on his own on the second day at his foster home. He has been fully vetted and is ready to go to his forever home. He does need work on walking on a leash and on basic manners but he's a smart boy and he'll catch on quickly.    Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
Very friendly and handsome 2 year old Husky. Zeus weighs about 50 pounds, which is a good weight for him. If you are familiar with the breed, you know how fun-loving and joyful they are. His previous owner let us know that he is good with kids and other dogs, cats not so much. Huskies are also notorious escape artists with lots of energy. If you have the space and time to keep Zeus exercised and safe, please come by to meet him. Zeus is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the neuter.

Story
Meet Lana, a beautiful husky mix with a big heart. Lana might come across as a bit reserved when you first meet her, but don't let this initial shyness fool you. Once she feels comfortable and safe, Lana transforms into a vibrant bundle of joy, full of energy and excitement. She absolutely adores treats, and watching her perform her zoomies around the yard is a sight guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Lana's ideal home would be one that understands the nuances of her initial timidity and appreciates the boundless energy she has to offer once she's settled in. Given her spirited nature, we believe Lana would thrive in a household with older, dog-savvy children who can join her in her adventures and understand her unique needs. Lana enjoys the company of other dogs, but she does require a proper introduction to ensure a smooth transition and a happy, harmonious home for everyone involved. A meet and greet with any potential canine siblings is a must to set everyone up for success. For Lana, we are seeking a family with experience in caring for husky mixes or similar breeds, who understands the commitment, patience, and love needed to nurture a dog like Lana into their family. Her perfect match will be someone who cherishes the quiet moments of building trust just as much as the joyous outbursts of play that follow. If you're ready to embark on a rewarding journey filled with love, laughter, and plenty of zoomies, Lana might just be the perfect addition to your family. Let's help Lana find her forever home, where she can fully blossom into the loving, energetic companion she's meant to be.
