Story
This is Bernie! He's about 4 months old, nearly 40 pounds and just a silly puppy. From being a bit nervous of his new foster family, he's really started to show his big personality! He loves toys, curling up on the couch with the humans, and is potty and crate trained! He knows "sit", "down", "crate" and working on "leave it". So far he's done great with some basic training and he is a sweet, happy, loving guy that is good with dogs, kids, and cats(he just REALLY wants to be friends with the cats)!Ideally his furever home would be with at least one confident dog sibling! ##2708529##

Story
Meet Patchouli, the gentle giant with a heart of gold! This 70-lb sweetheart is a smart, loyal companion who forms unbreakable bonds with his person. Once you've earned his trust, he is all about snuggling up and being by your side.   This well-behaved boy is potty trained, knows his commands, and respects household rules (he's a toy-chewer, not a furniture-chewer ).  Patchouli is a pro at coexisting with cats, and he's eager to show off his chill side.   His ideal home is one with experienced, adult-only vibes, a calm environment, and a committed handler who'll provide structure and love. He's looking for someone who'll understand his protective nature (he's a loyal guardian, not a brawler!) and work with him to build confidence.   If you're ready for a partner who's smart, loyal, and affectionate, Patchouli’s your guy! He's all about forming deep connections and living life with a best friend by your side.   Key highlights: - Loyal and loving companion - Potty trained and well-behaved - Cat-friendly with proper introductions - Needs experienced, adult-only home - Thrives on structure and clear boundaries   Could Patchouli be the missing piece to your happy home? ##1260477##

Story
Meet Hattie, a sweet yet spunky girl that will show you all the love that special need fosters can possibly offer. When we say they are special, Hattie is a testament to everything these animals have to offer. Hattie is 3 years old, weighs 35 lbs and has something called hydrocephalus, which has caused blindness, but that doesn’t slow her down at all! Hattie was born with something called hydrocephalus – fluid on her brain. She currently only takes an ant-seizure med and has been doing well with that management in her foster home (Keppra 500mg twice per day, estimated cost $30/month). Ideally, we would love to find an adopter experienced with the condition because these dogs have very unique qualities that will make a transition easier if the adopter is experienced. Hattie has lived in her foster home since she was three months old. She has a very strict routine (as hydros need) and does not like any sort of change to that routine. Her foster will want to visit with the adopter to ensure a similar routine can be carried into her next home. Hattie will need time to learn a new environment on her terms. She will never be a cuddly dog, and for the most part she doesn’t interact with other dogs a lot. She cannot be forced to a fast adjustment – it will only set her up for failure. While she loves being the company of other dogs, don’t expect her to play and behave like a typical dog. A lot of times she will relax off to the side and watch others play. Hattie lives with foster siblings of all ages and sizes, as well as varying needs, and does great with everyone…in her own way. When new fosters enter the home, she is allowed to explore them on her own terms, and is never forced to interact with them. While she does great on potty training, due to her condition, she will always have accidents. Hydrocephalus dogs tend to not understand fully the concept of potty training, so an awareness to that will need to exist. Due to her condition, only local applications will be considered (Oklahoma only) and potential adopters need to be open to having a home visits done. Multiple visits and observing Hattie in any new home environment is a must. She needs a home with a fenced yard; apartments will not be considered. You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application Hattie is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped! Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
Nicholas aka Neeko's story almost ended before it truly began. He was scheduled for euthanasia due to shelter overcrowding when he was rescued, giving him the chance he so desperately deserved. While little is known about his life before rescue, it's clear that shelter life was incredibly hard on him. Confined to a cramped kennel with barely enough room to turn around, Neeko struggled in that environment. Once he entered a home, however, everything changed. Estimated to be around 5 years old, Neeko has blossomed into a devoted, affectionate companion. He loves being near his person and happily follows them from room to room, earning his title as the perfect "shadow dog." Despite his attachment, he's independent enough to relax when left alone and does not suffer from separation anxiety. Neeko still has plenty of life and energy ahead of him. He enjoys daily walks, soaking up the sunshine, and spending quality time with his people. He's fully house-trained, eager to learn, and highly motivated to please. Inside the home, he's a dream companion—quiet, calm, and rarely barks. One of Neeko's most impressive qualities is how trustworthy he is in the house. His foster leaves him out when no one is home, and he's proven to be completely non-destructive. He settles in nicely, respects the home, and patiently waits for his people to return. Above all else, Neeko is a cuddle expert. He adores snuggling on the couch, receiving belly rubs, and soaking up every scratch and bit of affection he can get. His ideal home is one where he'll be treated as a cherished family member and receive all the love he's waited so long to find. Because of his strong prey drive, Neeko is not a match for homes with cats, small dogs, or other small animals. He may be compatible with larger dogs pending a proper introduction and evaluation. He has been friendly with everyone he's met, though he has not yet been tested around young children. After surviving a shelter and narrowly escaping euthanasia, Neeko is ready for the happy ending he's been waiting for—a loving home, a soft place to rest, and a person to call his own.
