Story
Eliza is a 3-month-old Husky-Shepherd mix with a big personality, an adventurous spirit, and a playful zest for life. This happy girl is always ready for fun, whether she's exploring the backyard, playing with her dog friends, or soaking up attention from her favourite people. Friendly and confident, Eliza enjoys meeting new people and has never met a stranger she didn't want to say hello to. Eliza gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has done well with children, making her a great candidate for an active family. She sleeps well in her crate, walks nicely on leash, and is making excellent progress with her housetraining. She is also at the perfect age to continue building her skills, and puppy classes will be a wonderful way to strengthen her manners while building a lifelong bond with her family. Like any young puppy, Eliza is still learning about the world. She has plenty of playful energy and can sometimes be a little enthusiastic during play, so continued positive reinforcement and consistency will help her grow into a well-mannered adult. Because of her puppy exuberance, she may be best suited to a home with older children or younger kids who are familiar with puppies and can help reinforce appropriate boundaries and gentle interactions. Eliza would thrive in a home that is ready to embrace all the fun, laughter, and adventures that come with raising a puppy. Whether she joins an active family, a home with another playful dog, or first-time adopters committed to training, Eliza is sure to reward them with endless love, loyalty, and joyful companionship. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at Ruff Haus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support. Story
Peggy is a 3-month-old Husky-Shepherd mix with a playful spirit, a curious mind, and a heart full of adventure. Expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, this happy girl is always ready to explore, play, and make new friends. She loves meeting people, is friendly with strangers, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is quickly discovering just how much fun life in a home can be. Peggy is already off to a great start with her training. She knows "sit," walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and sleeps soundly in her crate overnight, happily going in when it's time to rest. She is working hard on her housetraining and continues to make great progress with a consistent routine. Peggy especially loves following the resident dogs around and has a blast playing with them, making her an excellent candidate for a home with another playful canine companion. Like any growing puppy, Peggy is still learning her manners. She is currently teething, so chew toys are a must, and she can sometimes get a little carried away during play, especially with her littermate. She is learning appropriate play skills and responds well to guidance and positive reinforcement. Peggy also likes to announce when she's excited, wants to play, or is ready to head outside, so she may be better suited to a home rather than an apartment. As with all puppies, continued obedience training will help her grow into a wonderful adult companion. Peggy would thrive with an active family who is excited to embrace all the fun, laughter, and learning that come with raising a puppy. She would likely do well with respectful children, especially those who understand puppy manners and can help reinforce positive behaviour. With love, patience, and ongoing training, Peggy is sure to grow into a loyal, affectionate companion who will bring endless joy to her forever family. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. Story
Angelica is an adorable 3 month old puppy who came to Precious Paws from northern Ontario (Moose Factory Island). She arrived with her 2 sisters, Peggy and Eliza, and all 3 pups are now fully vetted and ready to find homes of their own! Angelica is a social puppy who loves to play with other dogs. She would love to find a home with another canine companion or at least an active family to keep her busy. She is still teething so lots of safe toys to play with will keep her from chewing things she shouldn't. And, in typical puppy fashion, this girl would benefit from attending puppy classes with her new family to learn all the things and continue her socialization. Classes also help with bonding for new families! Angelica is still working on her housetraining - consistency will be key to keep making progress. She is also crate trained though she will bark in her crate until she settles. She's still learning all about life but she's a smart pup and picks things up quickly! Angelica can't wait to keep learning in her new home. Looking for a fun-loving, sweet puppy to add to the family? Look no further! Submit an application through our website to be considered for Angelica. Our adoption process, fees, and what's included can all be read about on our website.   Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LOVEY DOVEY hails from the Northern community of Sandy Lake and came south with her two sisters, Honey Bunch and Sweetie Pie. They’re named the Valentine Trio and she’s now looking to find her forever home. She’s spayed, received her three sets of puppy vaccines as well as her Rabies shot, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We really don’t know the size she’ll grow to be as we have no information on either parent. The same can be said about the breeds we’ve stated as we just go by what she looks like. There is a picture of her with her 2 siblings and they look to be Lab mixes but that’s just a guess. She’s a gentle girl and is very relaxed and behaves very well when she’s been taken to any events. She’s still very much a puppy and loves her snuggles. She’s still teething so she has lots of chew toys including Nyla bones to keep her little teeth busy.  LOVEY DOVEY’s crate trained and sleeps quietly in it at night and will also nap in it during the day too. House training is going well and she rarely has an accident in the home but she is taken outside frequently. She really enjoys going on walks and gets excited when she knows she’s going on one. She wears a harness when she goes out and like all puppies, she loves to run ahead of you. She has good manners but does tend to eat her food very quickly so a slow feeder is recommended for her. If there’s another dog in the home we would recommend that she eat her meals in her crate until she figures out  they’re not going to take her food away from her. She knows most basic commands and will take treats “gentle” and “sit” for her meals like a good girl.  LOVEY DOVEY’s ideal family should be an active one that loves the outdoors and to go on hikes and long walks on the trails. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive especially if it leads to an adventure for her. She’s well socialized with other dogs so she would suit being in a home with one. We do recommended that a slow monitored introduction be made between her and any dogs in the home and the dog kept leashed for the first few introductions. She was initially fostered with 2 cats and 2 rabbits and she was great with them and would even lay beside the cats in front of the fireplace. She can be an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time every day. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and caring towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play. LOVEY DOVEY, like all puppies, is cute, playful and fun but also requires a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her to become the best girl possible. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their brain development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information.  If LOVEY DOVEY sounds like she’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2026, 3:00 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LUMINOX hails from the Northern community of Poplar Hill and came south along with her 4 puppies to find living homes. She was a loving, attentive mum and now she deserves to get that loving family she’s always dreamed of. She’s spayed, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We can definitely see the Husky in her but not so much the Lab but she does have the loving, soft nature of one. So basically the breeds are just our assumption and she probably has many more in her too. She’s a bit under weight so could still do with gaining a few pounds which she should now seeing as she’s no longer nursing her puppies. She’s a sweet girl who just wants snuggles, toys and food. She loves her people and will be their shadow and follow them room-to-room because she doesn’t want to lose sight of them. Belly rubs? Did someone say belly rubs? This girl absolutely loves them and when she has her fosters full attention, she’ll then flop onto the floor and roll over so she can get that full-on belly rub.   LUMINOX is crate trained and will sleep well in it at night but not such a fan of it in the daytime so she is kept in a secure room and will settle down f er right away. She does well on her walks but we do not recommend anytime soon that she be off leash until her new owner is well acquainted with her and she’s very trusting of them. She’s housetrained and will let you know when she has to go outside for a bathroom break. She loves her belly rubs and will lean into her foster to let her know she wants them and when she gets their full attention she’ll then flop on the floor for her to give them. She loves to be in the water and she’ll run into it at full tilt and then lay down in it especially after a nice long walk in the woods. She enjoys car rides but sometimes needs bit of a boost to get her in there. She has the funniest quirk of when she’s going somewhere she’ll flop on the ground and go limp. However, she’s fine to be picked up and her smaller size makes it easier to manoeuvre her. She’ll do this sometimes at night when it’s bedtime and time to get her into her crate. She does this as she’d much rather stay with her people and she envisions herself lying on the bed rather than in the crate. She’s well socialized with dogs of all sizes and a lot of different breeds and she also has 2 of them in her foster home. They walk and play well together and love to burn off energy by playing chase in the back yard. She does have a prey drive so we’re saying no cats or critters in her new home. She’s only met children aged 10 plus and did very well with them so we are recommending they should be over the age of 10yrs and be gentle and loving towards animals.  LUMINOX loves to play with toys especially the squeaky ones. She has to be monitored with them though as she’ll chew through them pretty quick to get at that squeaker. So we’re recommending the toughest toys for her like the Kong brand and Nyla bones to chew on. She’s very food motivated so it’s very easy to teach new tricks and commands with treats. She already knows sit, paw, down, come and stay to name a few. Although she already knows these commands we do strongly recommend that her new owner take her to obedience/training school and it’s also a great way for her owner to bond with her. She’s great at sniffing out kibble too and has raided her kibble bin a couple of times so food should be kept well out of her reach. She doesn’t show any signs of  resource guarding with people when it comes to food or toys and they can safely be taken from her. She does require a fenced in yard and one that is secure as she’ll go on a mission to find gaps in it and try to escape. She does have a prey drive so  absolutely no cats or small critters in the home for her. She does chase after bunnies and other critters and one time she did manage to catch a bunny and it unfortunately didn’t survive.  If LUMINOX sounds like she’d fit into your home then please submit an adoption application to meet her.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 10:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ZUCCHINI hails from a Northern community and came south with her 2 siblings, Spinach & Broccoli (they’re known as the Green Litter) and she came south to find her forever home. She’s had 1 set of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her Vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have her listed as and the size she’ll grow to be are just an educated guess based on what she looks like. Due to her size we suspect she could be a big girl plus she almost looks like she could have Newfoundlander in her too. She does come from a community with many stray dogs so he no doubt has many different breeds in her that are not as notable as well. She’s a very placid, laid back little fluff ball who loves her humans almost as much as she loves taking naps. Although she’s super chill, gentle and quiet, she is the more dominant one out of the siblings. She loves to play in her fenced-in yard and will happily chase her brother around in it. She’s well socialized with people and will excitedly run up to greet them with a wagging tail. She loves her snuggles and will happily curl up in your lap to get lots of them.  ZUCCHINI is a happy-go-lucky, playful puppy who’s full of curiosity and is just learning what squeaky toys are all about and she’s always startled when one of her favourites actually has a squeaky in it. With her lovely personality and good nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. ZUCCHINI has just started her crate training and she’s picking up on it very quickly as she’s one smart little lady. She’s only just started going out for her bathroom breaks so she’s just starting to understand that’s the place to do her business. She’s not going out for walks just yet seeing as she’s not vaccinated enough but she is wearing a collar and harness while on a leash so she can be walked around the back yard. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that she shouldn’t. She really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. She’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for her meals and take treats “gentle.” ZUCCHINI would love an active family who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them. She travels well in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. There’s a resident dog in her foster home and she’ll seek him out to romp and play with so she would definitely suit being with other dogs in her new home. Ideally they should be chill and placid like she is and they’d be fine putting up with puppy antics. She can be an only dog as long as she’s not left alone for long periods at a time. She hasn't met a cat but seeing as she’s just a puppy and with a slow, monitored introduction they should do well together. She requires a fenced-in yard so she can run around and play safely so she wouldn’t suit being in an apartment and that’s also due to the size we think she’ll grow to be. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.  ZUCCHINI, like all puppies is cute, playful and fun but she’ll require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the most well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her potential adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age. It will either be at the Rescue’s vet’s office or be at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. However, her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in a onsie or cone after the surgery.) We use the photo on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If BROCCOLI sounds like She’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2026, 3:00 pm
