Story
Eliza is a 3-month-old Husky-Shepherd mix with a big personality, an adventurous spirit, and a playful zest for life. This happy girl is always ready for fun, whether she's exploring the backyard, playing with her dog friends, or soaking up attention from her favourite people. Friendly and confident, Eliza enjoys meeting new people and has never met a stranger she didn't want to say hello to. Eliza gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has done well with children, making her a great candidate for an active family. She sleeps well in her crate, walks nicely on leash, and is making excellent progress with her housetraining. She is also at the perfect age to continue building her skills, and puppy classes will be a wonderful way to strengthen her manners while building a lifelong bond with her family. Like any young puppy, Eliza is still learning about the world. She has plenty of playful energy and can sometimes be a little enthusiastic during play, so continued positive reinforcement and consistency will help her grow into a well-mannered adult. Because of her puppy exuberance, she may be best suited to a home with older children or younger kids who are familiar with puppies and can help reinforce appropriate boundaries and gentle interactions. Eliza would thrive in a home that is ready to embrace all the fun, laughter, and adventures that come with raising a puppy. Whether she joins an active family, a home with another playful dog, or first-time adopters committed to training, Eliza is sure to reward them with endless love, loyalty, and joyful companionship. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at Ruff Haus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support. Please visit our website www.preciouspawsrescue.ca to submit an adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LUMINOX hails from the Northern community of Poplar Hill and came south along with her 4 puppies to find living homes. She was a loving, attentive mum and now she deserves to get that loving family she’s always dreamed of. She’s spayed, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We can definitely see the Husky in her but not so much the Lab but she does have the loving, soft nature of one. So basically the breeds are just our assumption and she probably has many more in her too. She’s a bit under weight so could still do with gaining a few pounds which she should now seeing as she’s no longer nursing her puppies. She’s a sweet girl who just wants snuggles, toys and food. She loves her people and will be their shadow and follow them room-to-room because she doesn’t want to lose sight of them. Belly rubs? Did someone say belly rubs? This girl absolutely loves them and when she has her fosters full attention, she’ll then flop onto the floor and roll over so she can get that full-on belly rub.   LUMINOX is crate trained and will sleep well in it at night but not such a fan of it in the daytime so she is kept in a secure room and will settle down f er right away. She does well on her walks but we do not recommend anytime soon that she be off leash until her new owner is well acquainted with her and she’s very trusting of them. She’s housetrained and will let you know when she has to go outside for a bathroom break. She loves her belly rubs and will lean into her foster to let her know she wants them and when she gets their full attention she’ll then flop on the floor for her to give them. She loves to be in the water and she’ll run into it at full tilt and then lay down in it especially after a nice long walk in the woods. She enjoys car rides but sometimes needs bit of a boost to get her in there. She has the funniest quirk of when she’s going somewhere she’ll flop on the ground and go limp. However, she’s fine to be picked up and her smaller size makes it easier to manoeuvre her. She’ll do this sometimes at night when it’s bedtime and time to get her into her crate. She does this as she’d much rather stay with her people and she envisions herself lying on the bed rather than in the crate. She’s well socialized with dogs of all sizes and a lot of different breeds and she also has 2 of them in her foster home. They walk and play well together and love to burn off energy by playing chase in the back yard. She does have a prey drive so we’re saying no cats or critters in her new home. She’s only met children aged 10 plus and did very well with them so we are recommending they should be over the age of 10yrs and be gentle and loving towards animals.  LUMINOX loves to play with toys especially the squeaky ones. She has to be monitored with them though as she’ll chew through them pretty quick to get at that squeaker. So we’re recommending the toughest toys for her like the Kong brand and Nyla bones to chew on. She’s very food motivated so it’s very easy to teach new tricks and commands with treats. She already knows sit, paw, down, come and stay to name a few. Although she already knows these commands we do strongly recommend that her new owner take her to obedience/training school and it’s also a great way for her owner to bond with her. She’s great at sniffing out kibble too and has raided her kibble bin a couple of times so food should be kept well out of her reach. She doesn’t show any signs of  resource guarding with people when it comes to food or toys and they can safely be taken from her. She does require a fenced in yard and one that is secure as she’ll go on a mission to find gaps in it and try to escape. She does have a prey drive so  absolutely no cats or small critters in the home for her. She does chase after bunnies and other critters and one time she did manage to catch a bunny and it unfortunately didn’t survive.  If LUMINOX sounds like she’d fit into your home then please submit an adoption application to meet her.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 10:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ALGONQUIN hails from Fort Severn, a Northern community and came south with his 5 siblings, Yamaska, Arisaig, Makwa, Banff & Kokanee (they’re known as the Provincial Parks Litter) and she came south to find her forever home. He’s had *1 set of puppy vaccines, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and has been deemed a healthy boy by his Vet. We actually have a video showing both parents and mum looks like a medium sized Collie/Old English Sheepdog and his dad possibly a large sized black Lab/Border Collie/Shepherd. We do also see Newfoundlander breed in the litter so we do expect him to be a large breed dog. He comes from a community with many stray dogs so he no doubt has many different breeds in him that are not as notable as well. He’s a very placid, laid back, gentle little fella who loves his humans almost as much as he loves taking naps. He loves to play in his fenced-in yard and will happily chase his siblings around in it. He’s well socialized with people and will excitedly run up to greet them with a wagging tail. He loves his snuggles and will happily curl up in your lap to get lots of them.  ALGONQUIN is a happy-go-lucky, playful puppy who’s full of curiosity and is just learning what squeaky toys are all about and he’s always startled when one of his favourites actually has a squeaky in it. He’s fostered with 2 of his sisters and they are quite bossy to him. They will take his kibble if they’re not watched at meal times so he now gets fed in the crate so he can eat in peace. The funny thing is that when he sees his meal being prepared, he runs into his crate and patiently waits for his bowl of kibble. With his lovely personality and good nature he’s ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and grow. ALGONQUIN has just started his crate training and he’s picking up on it very quickly as he’s one smart little guy. He’s only just started going out for his bathroom breaks so be’a just starting to understand that’s the place to do his business. He’s not going out for walks just yet seeing as he’s not vaccinated enough but he is wearing a collar and harness while on a leash so be can be walked around the back yard. Due to teething, he’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy toys to satisfy that urge not to chew on anything that he shouldn’t. He really loves to chew on a Nyla bone to keep those little teeth busy too. He’s starting to learn a couple of basic commands already such as “sit” for his meals and take treats “gentle.” ALGONQUIN would love an active family who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take him on adventures with them. He travels well in a vehicle and will just rest in his crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. He isn’t fostered with a dog but if there’s one in the home then they should be chill and placid like he is and they’d be fine putting up with puppy antics. He’s fostered with two older puppies and they love to chase and play with him. He would suit being with another dog in the home as long as they quiet and chill just like he is and definitely not a dominant dog. He can be an only dog as long as he’s not left alone for long periods at a time. He hasn't met a cat but seeing as he’s just a puppy and with a slow, monitored introduction they should do well together. He requires a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play safely so he wouldn’t suit being in an apartment and that’s also due to the size we think he’ll grow to be. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals.  ALGONQUIN, like all puppies is a cute, playful and fun puppy but he’ll require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need his adopter to commit to signing him up for puppy training/obedience classes so he can be the most well behaved puppy possible. His neuter is included in his adoption fee and his potential adopter must be in agreement to have him neuter performed by the time he’s 9 months of age or 60lbs (whichever comes first.) It will either be at the Rescue’s vet’s clinic or be at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. However, her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe for the reimbursement and we’ll need a copy of the procedure invoice and an updated photo of him (preferably in a cone after the surgery.) We use the photo on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If ALGONQUIN sounds like he’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop. We try to keep our puppy postings as up-to-date as possible but due to their development, it’s not always possible to note 100% accurate behavioural information.  * He’ll receive his second vaccine and it will be covered by his adoption fee.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2026, 5:56 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.APRICOT hails from the Northern community of Kasabonica and came south with her 3 siblings, Clementine, Papaya and Tangerine to find her forever home. She’s had her 3 sets of puppy vaccines including a Rabies shot, a microchip, “Interceptor Plus” dewormer and been deemed a healthy girl by her Vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have her listed as and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess. Seeing as she comes from a community with lots of stray dogs do she no doubt has many different breeds in her that are not as notable as well. This “Orange” Litter is very chill and relaxed and her foster says they’re a very quiet litter as well. She really loves to socialize with people and will excitedly run up to them with her tail wagging to greet them. She loves to be picked up and snuggled into you and with her living, happy nature she’s ready to find her forever home where she can continue to thrive and grow. APRICOT was the boss lady of the litter and liked to try and always kept her siblings in line. She’s an adventurous, playful puppy who’s full of curiosity. She just has one sibling remaining in her foster home. She loves playing with lots of toys and especially loves to chase a spiky ball around and also have a good chew on it as well. This beautiful girl loves to spend time outside sitting in the sun and also in a big bowl of water. The bowl was actually put outside as a big drinking bowl for her and her sibling to drink from but she jumped right in it and just sat there enjoying a nice soak. She’s always gone “digging” in her water bowl and she does the same with the big bowl of water so she’s it’s safe to say she loves going to love going in the lake for a swim. APRICOT is totally crate trained and sleeps quietly in it all night and will also take her naps in it during the day too. She loves going on walks and gets excited when she knows she’s going on one. She rarely has an accident in the home but she is taken outside regularly for bathroom breaks. Due to teething, she’s at a chewing stage and needs lots of chewy bones and toys to keep those little teeth busy. She’s learning basic commands such as to “sit” for her meals and to take treats “gentle.” APRICOT’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors, going on hikes, walks and will take her on adventures with them as well. She really loves to go in a vehicle and will just rest in her crate and quietly enjoy being driven around. She’s well socialized with other dogs as there’s 3 resident dogs in her foster home and she loves to be around them. She would suit a home with a dog but she can also be an only dog provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time. She does have 2 cats in her foster home but there’s no real interaction with them at this stage. However, if there’s one in the home we recommend the same as with a dog in the home and that is a slow, monitored introduction between them while the puppy is held on a leash. She needs a fenced-in yard so she can run around and play safely. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be gentle, loving and caring towards animals. APRICOT, like all puppies is cute, playful and fun but she’ll also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We need her adopter to commit to signing her up for puppy training/obedience classes so she can be the best well behaved puppy possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her adopter must be in agreement to have her spay performed by the time she’s 6 months of age and it will either be at our vet’s office or at the Barrie SPCA. You do have the option to use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it at the SPCA. However, her spay will still have to be performed in the above timeframe. For the reimbursement we will need a copy of the surgery invoice and an updated photo of her (preferably in her onsie or a cone after the surgery.) The photo will be put on our fb page along with other animals that were spay/neutered that same week. If APRICOT sounds like She’d suit your home and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her. It should be noted that puppies personalities can change daily/weekly as their little brains develop.
