Story
Hi, I’m Maddy. I’m a soft, affectionate dog who loves being close to my people and soaking up attention. I approach gently, take treats nicely, and already know cues like sit and paw. I walk well on leash and check in with my handler, making me an easy companion for daily outings.I’m very tolerant of handling and enjoy being pet all over. At times I show mild appeasement signals like soft eyes or lip licking, but I remain relaxed and continue to seek attention. I’m friendly with strangers, though I can get a little jumpy with excitement, and I respond well to redirection.I’m social and playful with other dogs, showing loose, bouncy body language and enjoying interactions while still being able to come away with guidance. I have lived with cats and may chase or play too enthusiastically, so I’d do best with a confident, dog-savvy cat.I previously lived in a home that had a lot of children of varying ages living nearby that visited and did well with them, in fact I`m kind of a big fan of the little people but they should be dog savvy and sturdy because I might jump on them in excitement. I can also be a bit mouthy during play and may bark excitedly on walks, but I respond well to positive reinforcement and direction.I’m food motivated without being pushy and eat calmly. I may need a refresher on housetraining due to recent changes, so consistency and supervision will help me succeed.I’m a medium-energy, cuddly and playful dog who would do well in a variety of homes, including apartments, as long as I get regular exercise and enrichment.

Story
Beans is a social butterfly who runs on equal parts joy and shenanigans. At one year old, this 55-pound, spayed husky is already living up to her nickname: the “Mexican Jumping Bean.” Whether she’s hopping around the yard, inviting her dog friends to wrestle, or offering an enthusiastic “woo woo” greeting, Beans brings life to the party! Beans loves the company of other dogs, greeting them on walks with a play bow and her signature husky chatter. She currently lives with another husky and has happily made friends with visiting pups of all shapes and sizes. She also gets along well with cats, but does like to engage in chase; a treat will redirect her from a cat that doesn’t appreciate the game! She’s also wonderful with kids, but might sneak in for a kiss or two. Beans is an enthusiastic greeter of all people. (she’s working on keeping all four paws on the ground!). She’s a well-mannered girl in many ways; housetrained, crate trained, quiet when left alone, and non-destructive. She rides well in the car and walks politely on leash without pulling.  She is good at the vet and has been professionally groomed with no issues. Beans  medium energy level makes her a perfect mix of playful and chill. She loves to play tug and fetch, but also enjoys downtime. She knows basic commands like “sit” and “come,” and she’s eager to keep learning, especially if treats are involved. As for her shenanigans, Beans is an avid digger and has snuck out of the front door a couple of times.  Luckily, her love of treats means she’s never gone far. Continued work on recall will help her learn she can have fun without sneaking around.  She has suspected food allergies and is thriving on a specialized diet that keeps her feeling her best.  Beans is looking for a home that will embrace her playful spirit and continue working on positive reinforcement training.  In return, she will give you endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and a whole lot of husky love. Story
Cricket is a 3-year-old male Husky with all the classic traits people love-and need to be prepared for-with this incredible breed. He's energetic, intelligent, vocal, and full of personality. Whether he's "talking" to you about his day, showing off his playful side, or exploring the world with endless curiosity, Cricket brings a lively spirit to every moment.Like a true Husky, Cricket thrives on activity and mental stimulation. He'll do best with an owner who understands the breed's need for regular exercise, structure, and engagement. Long walks, runs, hikes, or even backyard play sessions are right up his alley. He's not the type to lounge around all day-he's looking for someone who's ready to match his enthusiasm for life.Cricket is also a clever boy, which means he benefits from consistent training and positive reinforcement. He can be a bit independent (another classic Husky trait), but with patience and guidance, he forms strong bonds and becomes a loyal companion.Because of his energy level and personality, Cricket would do best in a home with previous dog experience-ideally someone familiar with Huskies or other active working breeds. If you're looking for a fun, spirited, and affectionate companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with adventure (and maybe a bit of Husky sass), Cricket might just be your perfect match.Cricket will be a delayed adoption and will need to return for his Neuter surgery. He is staying at 91 Patterson Rd in Barrie. Our adoption hours are 11 am - 5 pm, or you can give us a call at (705) 728-7311 ex.6 or email at barrie@ontariospca.ca for more information. An unfortunate turn of events caused me to have to move and I cannot keep her until I find new housing Well behaved and very curious, when not cuddling up with someone she is often found wandering around every nook and cranny. Very playful with other animals, even cats Understands many basic commands such as sit, lie down and shake. Occasionally speaks up when not rewarded. Looking for a home that will let her be herself until I am in a situation to take her back.

AGE: 8 WeeksSEX: FemaleBREED: Northern MixENERGY LEVEL: MediumDOG FRIENDLY: Yep!CAT FRIENDLY?: Yep!KID FRIENDLY?: Yep!Meet Lucie! Lucie is a sweet, affectionate girl who is truly happiest right by your side. She’s a smart pup who enjoys exploring the outdoors and taking in new experiences, but she’s just as content settling in for cuddles afterward. Lucie is a big snuggler and will happily fall asleep in your arms within seconds. She has a gentle, easygoing nature and is a quieter dog who communicates softly when she needs something, making her a calm and loving companion. As with all young pups, she will need to work on crate training as well as potty training. She will also need support with leash walking! Her mom, Libby, is approximately 45-50 lbs and we expect her to be medium-large once fully grown. Her ideal home would be with a committed family that will provide continuous, consistent training to ensure she thrives. She will need an active family that can give him 1-2 hours of exercise and walks per day. She would be happy to share her home with another pup and although she hasn’t had any exposure to cats or children, she is at a young enough age that she would most likely adapt well to an environment with dog-savvy kids or kitties!Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Lucie? Story
Rascal| Male | 6 months old | 28 lbs | Dog and Kid Friendly Rascal is a bit of a misnomer because this dog is pure good boy! He's a charismatic and confident, with a personality that says "hello, world!" This confidence makes him an easy companion and he loves to be included in the day-to-day routines of his people, seeing each as an adventure. Going for a drive? FUN. He loves to be a passenger, and even gets carried along in a little basket like a true VIP. Spending some time at the local brewery with friends? DOUBLE FUN. He'll soak up the atmosphere and all the attention he attracts with his gorgeous Husky looks. He absolutely loves to walk and likes to collect "treasures" like sticks and pinecones to carry with him. He walks well on leash and is so curious about everything and everyone he sees. Whether it's an outing or a quiet moment, Rascal just wants to be included. Like a typical puppy, Rascal has bouts of energy. He loves toys, playing fetch, walks, and backyard time. He also has an excellent "off switch" and is happy to chill once he's got his yayas out! He loves to watch birds and squirrels, nap, and cuddle. He's also very food and toy motivated, and therefore highly trainable. He's already learned "sit," "stay," "down," "recall," and "pee-pee" to do his business outside. He's smart and eager to learn. Rascal's love of people and easy trust of men, women, and children, is really special. He loves to engage with people and is at ease in social situations. He bonds quickly and easily, and is so affectionate. Because he thrives on being included and spending time with people, he'd benefit from someone who is home a lot of the time. He'd also love a backyard for playtime. He'd be fine as a solo or second dog. He can get along with anyone. Rascal joined us from northern Manitoba where he'd likely been involved in a car incident. He has now healed. We have him attending rehabilitation sessions, to build up his muscles in the affected leg. He's a very normal puppy in his abilities and therefore can do anything that a typical puppy can do. He's the sweetest boy with the best looks! Life with Rascal will really be a delight for his lucky adopter. He's extra special and will inevitably be the heart of whatever household he joins.
