IDGSR Welcomes CHANEL into the safety of the rescue!! ************** Hi there! My name is Chanel & I am the CUTEST 4-month old Husky/Shepherd girl you've ever seen! My foster mom gave me a fancy name because my white/tan coloring is unique & my bright blue eyes make me look extra pretty! I'm a high energy baby girl, learning how to be house trained & kennel trained. I do sleep in my kennel at night but I would LOVE to sleep in a comfy bed when I'm older! I already know these commands: sit, come, down, & I can walk on a leash! I'm super smart & want to learn all sorts of things, could we do some obedience classes together? My perfect home would be one that will love me, have a big yard for me to run and play in, one that will teach me how to be the best girl, give me lots of treats (those are my favorites), & give me plenty of exercise! Remember, I am a puppy with lots of energy! I'm good with other dogs, kids, & cats so I am sure I will fit right in to your home! If you are looking for a pretty, cuddly, kissy, adorable, smart, & energetic new bestie - I'm your girl! Hurry up & submit that adoption application, I can't wait to meet you! ************** Thank you for considering adopting this wonderful dog! Donations help us care for all of the dogs in our program. Any donation is greatly appreciated and can be made here: https://www.idgsr.org/support-us

Zane came in weighing 48 pounds, when he should be 70-80 pounds. He appears healthy, but needs to put on some weight before we subject him to neuter surgery. He will be available for adoption once neutered. You may put in an application now.

Story
Hi! My name is Redford. I was a stray for a long time until someone was able to catch me. The people that caught me, held me for a week or so and were going to keep me, but I messed up and killed 2 of their chickens. I cannot be around chickens (they are so good; I just can't help myself). They said I was good around other dogs and cats, but we are not sure how I get along with kids. I know basic commands like sit, lay, stay but until I get to know you, I would probably be a flight risk, so keep me on a leash. I do attach quickly and might have some separation anxiety. The people that caught me did take me on a couple hikes and I enjoyed that, they also took me to a restaurant, and I had very good manners. Come take a look at me and possibly give me a fur ever home!

Story
Husky- Shepherd Mixes 12 weeks 25 pounds He is just a snuggle bug, he would do amazing with kids of all ages and amazing with other dogs. He just wants to be in your lap 24/7. The husky shines bright in him as he’s vocal. He is an all around sweetheart. He will need an owner with a little patience to help him get situated in his new home. He also has the very thick husky fur so he would require grooming and maintenance. Fence required. Untested with cats. $125 adoption fee You can start the adotpion process by filling out an application on our website: https://graingercountyhumanesociety.org/available-dogsOut of respect for our foster’s time and privacy we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an application on file. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mystic was dumped at a shelter with we believe her brother, at the very least it was a male husky, same age. He was adopted and Mystic went to a home, foster to adopt, and that very day they fed her and tried to take her food away and they said she bit them, and they took her back to the high kill shelter so she became rescue only and she needed out of there because she was gonna be put down. I committed to taking her and wasn’t sure what I was gonna get, but she’s only been awesome and amazing. Hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression at all,, and I always feed everyone in a crate or kennel, now Il’m not trying to take her food away either. She takes treats gently and with dogs all around her, and she’s been fine. She loves to play with the other dogs. I’d love for her to have a secure fenced in yard to run and play in and I think she’d do best with at least one other dog, and a male I think would be a perfect match. She’s been great with all my dogs but I realize this is a huge pack with me the alpha and everyone else. Once in a normal situation, I think matching her with a male would be best.
