Story
Meet Mr. Blue, The dog equivalent of an espresso shot. This 3 and a half year old Husky/Pitbull mix (we affectionately refer to the breed mix as Pitsky). Is a bundle of energy has enough pep to power a small city. With his dazzling bright blue eyes, he's the James Bond of the dog park, always ready for action and making friends left and right. Mr. Blue's favorite pastime? Play groups. He's the social butterfly. He's a bit mouthy, but don't worry-after a good walk, he settles down into a perfect gentleman. And let's be honest, he's not just a staff favorite-he's basically running the place.Add on, the black and white coat with hints of brindle undertone and you are mesmerized. Mr. blue is excited about pretty much any situation, just wanting to be a part of the action. He is still working on some of his manners such as not pulling on the leash and he is a strong boy so he would benefit from some training. But don't let that throw you off, Mr. Blue has a lot of good traits. One of those is that he is super food motivated which makes it easy to get his attention and should make training a breeze! Mr. Blue has also met several other large breed dogs in the play yard and has done well with all of them. He really just wanted to play and if the other dog started to get worked up with his enthusiasm, he was easy to redirect by calling his name. We think with some structure and training Mr. Blue has all the building blocks to make a fantastic dog for someone who enjoys an active companion. Mr. Blue went to the SunDome for the March Muttness event and did amazing! He was quiet for the whole event and walked with both the staff and the public. Mr. Blue had no issue being pet or approached by the crowd while kenneled and loved getting treats. He spent all night being a really good boy and was happy for every pet he got. Mr. Blue is located at our Ellensburg shelter. This pet is available for adoption on 9/27/23 at the Yakima Humane Society - Ellensburg location adoption center. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society - Ellensburg location staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Tyson, a 3 year old Husky mix. Tyson was found waundering around the city of Zillah before being brought to us. He is a gorgeous pure white Husky who will steal your heart in a minute. Tyson will gladly sit for treats and appears to be food-motivated which is fantastic for training. He really enjoys his belly rubs and attention from people. Tyson walks surprisingly well on a leash for a breed mix known for pulling, there is always room for improvement but we are very impressed with this well-rounded chap. Tyson has met other dogs and gotten along with them but we always recommend bringing your dog in for a meet and greet prior to adoption to make sure everyone gets along. We also recommend crate training Tyson when you aren't home as huskies have been known to get into and chew/eat stuff they aren't supposed to when unattended! Tyson is the goodest boy with just enough mischief to keep you entertained. Story
Meet Marci, a 2.5-year-old Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix. Marci was found running around with Elise, and they are currently in separate kennels but really seem to like each other; they always say hi as they pass each-others kennels. Marci is around 53 pounds and is sweet, but unsure of everything new. She would love someone who will help her build up her confidence and she may do well in a home with another dog that can show her the ropes.
