Story
Meet Snowball – The Lovable Little Screwball Still Waiting for His Big Break! We honestly can’t believe it—how is Snowball still waiting to be adopted? This 1.5-year-old, 6.5-lb Jack Russell Terrier mix is a whole lot of happy packed into a tiny body. Affectionately nicknamed “Screwball” for his goofy personality and endless energy, Snowball is equal parts hilarious, affectionate, and wildly entertaining. He brings the kind of joy to a room that makes you wonder how you ever lived without him. But behind his bright spirit is a story of resilience. Snowball came to us in December 2024 as a frightened little stray, unsure of people and the world around him. With time, love, and a safe place to land, he transformed into the bold, playful, and endlessly curious pup he was always meant to be. Now, he’s more than ready to bring that same joy to a forever family of his own. Snowball is still a young guy with puppy-like tendencies, so he’ll need continued guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement training. But he is so eager to please and highly trainable—this is a dog who wants to get it right and just needs someone willing to show him how. As a likely Jack Russell mix, Snowball is smart, feisty, and full of zest. He needs a home that understands small dogs with big personalities and is ready to embrace all the fun (and chaos) that can come with them. What Snowball Needs in a Forever Home: ~An active household ready to keep him engaged, mentally and physically ~A home without young children—he does best with adults or older teens ~A dog-savvy adopter willing to invest in training and structure ~A potential canine sibling might be a fit—but only if they’re laid-back and tolerant of his big personality. He can be bossy with little dogs and a bit of a challenger with larger ones! Snowball is already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. The only thing missing from his life is a home where he’ll be loved, understood, and cherished for the little firecracker he is. If you think Snowball is the perfect match for your heart and home, click the Adoption Application button below the bio on the RESCUE WEBSITE, and an adoption counselor will be in touch! Story
16-year-old Bart Bubbies was surrendered to the Humane Society of Imperial County by his family for euthanasia due to a urinary tract infection they could not—or chose not to—treat. The shelter declined the request and instead provided Bart with the care he needed. We welcomed this sweet boy as a Frosted Face on November 14th. He weighs just under 14 lbs. Bart went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about him while he enjoyed lots of TLC in the comfort of a home. And what a difference this time in a home made! Bart's Fling Mom reports: "When I brought Bart home, he was a bit skittish and standoffish. That soon changed and he became my shadow, coming up for pets and greeting anyone coming in the door. He really enjoyed being with my 10-year-old grandson. Here's what else I've learned about him: 🐾 Loves exploring the yard. (see video) 🐾 Walks well on a leash & has plenty of pep! 🐾 Sleeps through the night 🐾 Settles down quickly after whining a little when I leave home 🐾 Enjoys pets and head scratches 🐾 Rides peacefully in the car 🐾 Likes head scratches 🐾 Is very good about getting a bath Bart has plenty of energy around the yard, and walks. He was quiet and mellow in the house. I'm hoping Bart finds his forever family soon - they will score one happy and loving companion!" Bart is currently on a second Fling to spend time in a home for the holidays, but he is still on the lookout for a forever home. Might that be with you? 7-year-old Mr. Littles came to us from Carlsbad Shelter on November 12th. He weighs 21 lbs. and has a super sweet and fun personality. Be sure to watch Mr. Littles' videos - he loves belly rubs and has plenty of pep in his step! Mr. Littles went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we learn more about him while he enjoyed being in a home again. He earned a glowing review from his Fling Mom: "Mr. Littles is a total love bug and would be a great addition to any home! Here is what I learned about him: * Mr. Little loves his food, and he's very patient while his meal is being prepared. He doesn't beg for food. * He loves to go for walks and walks well on a leash. He and my dog walk side by side without any issues. * He mostly slept on the bench in front of my bed, but he's gotten more comfortable getting up on the bed and lying next to me and my dog. * He takes treats gently. * Mr. Little likes to play with toys. * He rides well in the car and likes to look out the window." Lovable Mr. Littles is Meep is currently on a second Frosted Fling, while he waits for his forever home. Might that be with you? Story
Porcini entered Los Angeles Animal Care and Control's Baldwin Park Shelter as a stray, and sadly, no one came for her. We welcomed Porcini as a Frosted on October 28th. She is around 14 years old and weighs 11 lbs. Porcini went on a Frosted Field Trip, and she earned this rave review: "Porcini is such a doll! She is very well-behaved and lovable, and she gets along beautifully with other dogs. Sweet Porcini sighed happily as she settled into her warm bath, enjoying every soothing moment. I set up Porcini with a heating pad, and she snoozed the night away." Porcini is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling while she waits for her forever home. She is once again earning praise for being a sweet and gentle girl who is very respectful of the resident cat! Her Fling Mom shares: "Little Porcini is easy to care for. She gets around well and doesn’t need much exercise, just a little toddle around outside followed by a nice long nap. Porcini uses the puppy pads and artificial grass in my apartment, and she also goes potty outside as she a wanders in the grass. She’s really about as low- maintenance and easygoing as you can get for a little dog." Porcini is ready for a forever home. Might that be with you? Story
Kmart entered Riverside County Department of Animal Services as a stray. When she wasn't claimed, we welcomed her as a Frosted Face. Kmart is estimated to be 8 years old, weighs 14 lbs., and is a wonderful dog. Soon after Kmart arrived, she was chosen for a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about her. Thankfully, her foster mom extended their time together, so Kmart could recover in the comfort of a home after having much-needed dental surgery. She feels like a new pup! Her foster mom shares: Kmart (who I call Tilly) initially slept most of the time here, but she is a totally different dog after her dental. Her life improved so much! Now, not only does she eat much better, but she’s awake more, she plays, is more active, and even runs now! Kmart is a calm dog, and quiet, I’ve never heard her bark. She’s very, very sweet but a little shy around new people. Here’s what I’ve learned about her: * Loves walks * Likes to be in the same room as me * Likes sitting in my lap * Likes to be held * Perfectly fine with other dogs * No separation anxiety * Does not door dash * House-trained (up to about four hours) * Goes to the door when she wants to go out * Always has a dry bed * Sleeps in a crate or out * Quiet all night Kmart is the easiest foster I’ve ever had. She is such a good girl." Looking for a loving, well-behaved companion? Kmart might be the one for you? To meet this very special girl, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
