This 1.5-year-old, 6.5-lb Jack Russell Terrier mix is a whole lot of happy packed into a tiny body. Affectionately nicknamed “Screwball” for his goofy personality and endless energy, Snowball is equal parts hilarious, affectionate, and wildly entertaining. He brings the kind of joy to a room that makes you wonder how you ever lived without him. But behind his bright spirit is a story of resilience. Snowball came to us in December 2024 as a frightened little stray, unsure of people and the world around him. With time, love, and a safe place to land, he transformed into the bold, playful, and endlessly curious pup he was always meant to be. Now, he’s more than ready to bring that same joy to a forever family of his own. Snowball is still a young guy with puppy-like tendencies, so he’ll need continued guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement training. But he is so eager to please and highly trainable—this is a dog who wants to get it right and just needs someone willing to show him how. As a likely Jack Russell mix, Snowball is smart, feisty, and full of zest. He needs a home that understands small dogs with big personalities and is ready to embrace all the fun (and chaos) that can come with them. At 12 years old, Bandit has experienced a lot of change in a short time. After his beloved dad passed away, Bandit came into our care through the Safety Net Program when the family needed help. His owner’s son, who was serving overseas in the military, had hoped to return and care for Bandit, but unfortunately, those plans have changed. Now part of our Final Wish Program, Bandit has spent the past 2.5 months in a loving foster home, but what he truly deserves is a forever family to cherish him in his golden years. Might that be you? His foster mom shares: Bandit is a very sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He recently went for a nail trim and was such a good boy! Afterward, he enjoyed relaxing outside, happily taking in the sights and sounds of the world around him. While Bandit isn’t a fan of leashes or harnesses (he tends to freeze up), he still enjoys getting around—especially in his stroller, where he can cruise comfortably and safely. Around the house, he gets bursts of energy, walking and even running a bit, and he loves heading out to the deck to soak up the sunshine. Bandit also enjoys cuddling and spending time with his foster sibling, Cookie, greeting her with gentle sniffs and sweet affection. Bandit would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can continue to feel safe, go at his own pace, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures - sunbathing, cozy naps, and companionship. Porcini entered Los Angeles Animal Care and Control's Baldwin Park Shelter as a stray, and sadly, no one came for her. Weighing 11 lbs., she is a sweet, lovable girl who does well with other dogs and is very respectful of cats. Since Porcini's arrival, she has gone on several Frosted Flings and Field Trips, and her foster families have only had wonderful things to report! Here is the latest feedback: "I can easily say Porcini is the easiest Foster I have ever had. Se is about as low-maintenance and easygoing as you can get for a little dog. She eats well, gets around well, toddles around the house a little, and naps most of the day in a dog bed. She doesn’t need much exercise but really enjoys going outside and meandering around a little. When home alone, she was quiet, well-behaved and just slept. Porcini really shines when you pick her up and plop her in a cozy bed next to you! She’ll happily keep you company while you watch tv, eat, read, and play video games. She doesn’t expect or demand attention but is happy to rest next to you and get whatever petting you’d like to dish out. Porcini went traveling with us on a weekend getaway to Solvang and Cambria. She was super easy in the car and seemed curious and happy being out and about. It’s tempting to carry her everywhere, but she does GREAT walking around. Porcini had a wonderful time wandering around Solvang and Cambria and getting lots of "awwws" and "isn’t-she-adorables." We didn’t get anywhere fast, but we enjoyed ourselves! Porcini is a great reminder to take your She was great in the backpack, and I bet she would LOVE a stroller. Porcini is a very good little girl who deserves a warm bed, a little patch of grass, and a cozy spot in a loving home. I hope someone who is kind, loving and good is somewhere reading this.
