2⃣ Rescue Story
Taei was staying at the Gimje Shelter. Endering life quietly in harsh shelter conditions, Taei was urgently rescued by ADOGS in order to help him find a loving forever family.
3⃣ Personality & Characteristics
* Interaction with Humans: He can be shy at first, but he will sniff around people and approach if given time. While friendly toward humans, he enjoys having his own alone time and benefits from having a designated independent space.
* Interaction with Dogs: He is afraid of large dogs, though he will approach to sniff them after time passes. He loves playing with smaller dogs, but he can be persistent in wanting to play even when the other dog sends refusal signals, so supervision is recommended. At the shelter, he currently coexists well with other dogs without growling or fighting.
* Interaction with Cats: When encountering cats, he shows interest and may attempt to chase them, but he stops when corrected.
* Separation Anxiety: He handles normal daily routines like a guardian's work commutes well. However, if his handler leaves and re-enters multiple times in a day, he may whine for about 5 minutes.
* Potty Training: He strongly prefers outdoor potty breaks. When he needs to go, he signals by heading toward the front door to ask to go outside.
* Grooming & Hygiene: He was initially fearful of brushing and baths, but he is improving steadily. He mildly dislikes ear cleaning. He squirms a bit during nail trims, so his nails are currently managed at professional grooming salons. While he isn't fond of toothbrushing itself, he loves the flavor of toothpaste and accepts it without aversion.
* Leash Walking: He has no aversion to putting on a leash and walks very well following his handler's lead. However, he may pull on the leash at the start of a walk or when there is a spot he wants to explore, and he likes to chew on twigs or pinecones he finds. If he encounters dogs or cats during walks, he may try to growl or chase after them, but he stops immediately when redirected and follows his handler.
* Motion Sickness: He is fine for the first 20 minutes of a car ride, but after about 30 minutes, he begins panting heavily and may vomit or have accidents, so caution is needed during travel.
* Biting/Defensive Reactions: He is a complete sweetheart with zero biting tendencies.
* Barking: He whines slightly when his guardian steps out multiple times or when a larger dog repeatedly barks at him.
* Personality & Tendencies: He is curious yet cautious, with a bright and cheerful charm. He plays wonderfully on his own with toys and loves chewing on things with his mouth, so caution is needed to keep items like charging cables out of reach. He feels uncomfortable around dogs that approach too assertively, and he still feels a bit fearful during medication application or brushing.
