Story
Weekend update from his new foster: "Freddy's adjusting well. His limpy arm is bulgy at the elbow, but doesnt appear to be painful and we are working on potty training and learning sit over the last 2 days:) He's very sweet and playful, not a barker at all- so def would be a good apartment doggie for anyone looking for that!” Freddy is about a year and a half and we're told nobody has wanted him because he was born with a cleft palette. It just looks like an underbite and he eats just fine. He has a limp as he bit by his Mum when he was a baby but the vet says it doesn't cause him any pain. He gets along with other dogs, kids and cats. They call him “Noble-" that’s what they say about dogs with a good disposition   Freddy is being fostered in Denver, Colorado and available to meet! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2579025##

Story
Meet Wednesday Wednesday is a tiny terrier/chihuahua mix with a big, brave heart—she’s just still learning how to use it. She came to Colorado from Portales, New Mexico, after a very rough start to life, and everything in this new world is brand-new to her. She’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and curious… but also extremely shut down as she figures out what it means to feel safe. Wednesday likely never had a collar, harness, or leash before arriving here, and you can see that in how carefully she approaches the outdoors. Right now, she’s working hard on feeling comfortable going outside, and she has a spacious indoor playpen with potty pads while she builds her confidence. She will need a patient adopter with a calm, quiet home—and ideally a securely fenced yard—so she can explore at her own pace without pressure. She’s not ready for adventures yet, but she is ready for someone who sees her potential. Someone who understands that tiny steps are big wins, and that trust is something you earn slowly, gently, and with a lot of love. If you have a soft spot for the shy ones, Wednesday might be the girl who blossoms just for you. ##2601622##

Story
Misty had a rough start in life and almost didn't make it to Colorado. Her eye was badly infected and she needed to have it removed. But FOJ rescuers saw her sweetness and resiliency shining through and made it happen. Now, she's a one-eyed wonder and she barely seems to notice she's different! This tiny, scruffy girl will melt your heart! She is a mix of so many things depending on her comfort level -- she can be shy at first and a little skittish, but her explorer nature quickly takes over as she checks out every corner of your house. She loves being close to her humans and really just wants to curl up on your lap! She's great with kids and other dogs.  Misty is making great progress on potty training and has been successfully using the doggy door! She's still learning basic commands and is getting more comfortable walking on a leash.  ##2601630##

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from City Of Liberal Animal Shelter From the foster: Lancer #942 has an energy that is infectious. He loves playing with toys and loves playing with his brother even more. Lancer also gets along very well with our two older dogs. His happy-go-lucky attitude brightens the whole house. We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly he picks things up. He is almost entirely potty trained! There is the occasional accident, but if we are paying close enough attention to his cues, he's doing a fantastic job signaling when he needs to go outside, it’s going very well for a 12 week old pup. He is a healthy, happy, breed of shepherd and Lancer brings so much joy. Highly recommend this wonderful mix to anyone looking for an active and loving companion! From the previous shelter: Meet Lancer! Lancer is one of ten puppies rescued from the streets. This curious, eager little pup is ready to soak up love and guidance. With a bit of patience, Lancer will rapidly learn new commands and show off a smart, affectionate personality. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from City Of Liberal Animal Shelter From the foster: Jeff 944, is a 12 week old, shepherd mix. He’s curious, playful, and has begun his potty-training journey. He’s slept through several nights without an incident. We’ve been paying attention to potty cues, with practice and patience, he will get it down in no time. Jeff loves to play hard with his brother and our two older dogs. When it’s time to snuggle he doesn’t disappoint. He will happily fall asleep on your lap. At night, Jeff sleeps with his brother in a small room. He loved his crate when we brought him home. Now he seems to prefer company, and settles quickly as long as someone stays nearby for a moment to let him know he’s safe. Once asleep, he sleeps soundly through the night with at most one wake up. Jeff would be a welcome addition to a loving home that offers patience, consistency, and plenty of affection. From the previous shelter: Meet Jeff! One of ten puppies rescued from the streets and lovingly surrendered to the shelter, Jeff is a young, and playful pup. With training and treats, Jeff will quickly pick up new tricks and commands, making for a smart and loyal companion. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: Meet Ben puppy (946) Ben is a gentle, mild-mannered puppy with the sweetest soul. He loves to cuddle and will happily melt into your arms, quickly calming down when held. A bit timid at first, Ben is curious and playful once he feels comfortable, and his incredibly soft fur makes every snuggle even better. His loving, sweet personality is the kind you’ll fall in love with instantly. Ben is very curious and inquisitive, always interested in what’s going on around him and especially intrigued by new toys. He enjoys exploring at his own pace and taking everything in. He feels safest and most secure in his crate and does very well using it as his cozy retreat. He’s currently learning to go potty outside and is making great progress. He is not a biting puppy at all and is wonderfully quiet—we’ve rarely heard him bark. Ben enjoys playing outside, but when he’s ready to come in, he’ll politely let you know by heading to the door. With his calm nature, gentle play style, and affectionate heart, Ben would make a truly wonderful family dog and a loyal, loving companion. From the previous shelter: Meet Ben! One of ten puppies rescued from the streets and lovingly surrendered to the shelter, Ben is a young, eager-to-learn pup. With patience and guidance, Ben will quickly pick up new tricks and commands, making for a smart and trainable companion. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
