Story
0126001 - Meet Hazel A 2 year-old, ~15 lb. Terrier mix who is ready to find her forever home through Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue. Hazel came to us from New Mexico, where life was not kind to her and she ended up on a high-kill shelter, she also survived distemper and is now happily distemper-free and recently arrived in Colorado. Hazel is learning how to be a dog for the very first time — feeling grass under her paws, exploring her surroundings, and cautiously learning to trust. She is very skittish and guarded, but incredibly curious. She follows her foster family around, wanting to be part of things, even if she’s not quite brave enough yet. She tends to prefer women over men and would do best in a calm environment with older children to avoid being overwhelmed. Hazel does wonderfully with other dogs. Since arriving in her foster home, she has become best friends with the family dog, Daisy,(who also is a Sloppy Kisses rescue) and the two spend much of their day playing, stealing toys, basking in the sun, and going on walks together. Hazel gains confidence from canine companionship and would thrive in a home with another friendly dog, she also does fine with cats. Once Hazel feels safe, her playful, puppy-like personality starts to shine through. She’s treat-motivated, LOVES scratches behind the ears, walks well on a leash, and is doing great with potty training — comfortable using puppy pads and having had very few accidents. She can sleep in a kennel, though she doesn’t prefer it, and likes to sleep in the same room as her foster family. She sleeps through the night without issues. Hazel has been through so much already and truly deserves a patient, understanding home that will give her the time, love, and support she needs to build confidence and fully come out of her shell. For the right person, Hazel will be an incredibly special companion and best friend. If you’re looking to make a meaningful difference in a dog’s life, Hazel is waiting. Story
Meet Sally!  She and her 3 babies were rescued after we discovered them living under a shed. A volunteer dug them out and quickly got them to safety. Sally is just learning to feel safe. She will need an understanding home with people who are comfortable with shy dogs. You don't have to have super powers, just time, love and patience to allow her to decompress and go at her own pace.  Sally is a small/medium scruffy terrier mix weighing around 30 -35 pounds and we estimate her to be around 2 years of age. If you would like to adopt please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  The adoption fee of $300 includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.   ##2641747##

Story
Lucas is an absolute love bug, he loves cuddling, sitting on your lap, and being center of attention. He loves racquet balls and any type of balls, he loves stuffed animals specially the ones with the squeaker. He is leash trained and has been since he was a puppy, however, he will still bark at everything and everyone. Lucas may or may not do good with female dogs, he does good with our another dog(who is a female) however, we haven't had him around other dogs often. Lucas does NOT do well with small children at all. We adopted him when my children were teenagers, so he has never been around little children until my grandbaby was born. Lucas has too much anxiety around little children. Lucas does not do well with strangers; he is very frightened and takes a while to warm up to them. He is afraid of fireworks and the thunder.

She is warming up to her new life here in Colorado, and is expanding her comfort levels every day. She gets along great with other dogs, but don't expect her to frolic and play with them. Lyla is incredibly loving towards people once she warms up to them. Her favorite place indoors is right next to her humans. She is potty trained, and working on leash etiquette. She goes into her crate at bedtime without asking, and sleeps through the night. Lyla would be the perfect addition to a lower energy household. Ready for an all-star snuggle buddy?? Come meet Lyla on Saturday ! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
