Story
Cookie is the perfect mix of playful fun and laid-back companion. One minute he’s happily zooming around the yard chasing his ball, and the next he’s curled up on the couch relaxing like a pro. He’s truly the best of both worlds. He’s also the perfect “just right” size — not too big, not too small — and has an adorable personality to match. Cookie loves toys, especially anything with a squeaker, and he’s great at entertaining himself when needed. He also enjoys walks and has done wonderfully playing with his furry foster sibling. Cookie is a smart, active boy who would thrive with continued mental stimulation and things to keep his brain engaged. Whether it’s puzzle toys, training sessions, sniffy walks, fetch, or learning new tricks, he enjoys having an outlet for both his energy and his curiosity. He’s the kind of dog who likes having little “jobs” to do and being included in daily activities with his people. In his foster home, Cookie has shown excellent manners. He’s been doing great with potty training, hasn’t gotten into things he shouldn’t, and overall has been an easy, enjoyable dog to have around. While the crate isn’t exactly his favorite place, he does settle down at night and sleeps through until morning. Given the choice, though, he’d much rather snooze near his people or another dog. Sweet, fun, affectionate, and easygoing, Cookie is just an all-around good boy looking for a home to call his own. They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2745661##
