Story
Sushi is being fostered in CT. Sushi loves to cuddle and would love to have her own person and family; however she would do best as an only dog so she can get all the love to herself. She travels great in the car and will either sit on your lap for a short trip or in the backseat with a doggy car seat. She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she has to go potty. She eats like a champ and takes her insulin well. She also does great at the vet and loves her vet clinic friends. She sleeps through the night and is very easy going. Sushi is not interested in toys but loves to chew on vet approved bones. She loves to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and she uses dog steps to get on. She can safely jump down as long as the floor is not slippery. I have a dog stroller for Sushi and she happily will sit in it and go for a ride or sleep in it when I am sitting at the computer. She enjoys going for short walks and gets excited when you put her leash on! She also does a very funny trot out in the backyard. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Zoey! This 2-year-old ShihTzu blend weighs 15 pounds. Her name may start with the last letter of the alphabet, but she will be FIRST to warm her way into your heart! General Behavior: Once comfortable in her new home, Zoey is fun and playful.  She is working on her socialization skills and will need some time to learn that new people (strangers, groomers, visitors) are her friends.  She’s a “kisser” and loves to follow her humans around the house. Likes & Dislikes: Zoey LOVES toys (and will even come with her favorite fetch toy).  She will “ask” to play fetch throughout the day.  She loves to run, play, and “investigate” outside.  Zoey may be her name, but SUNBATHING is her game!  She is also a BIG fan of cooked, plain chicken (although, she will also eat dry food mixed with wet). Training: Zoey is working hard on her fears of meeting new people and learning how to trust.  She walks well on a leash but will require a secure harness.  Inside the home, a cautious eye should be on Zoey to make sure she doesn’t try to “sneak out of the house”. Medical: This sweet gal is healthy and will require her monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Other Animals: In her foster home, Zoey LOVES to play with her current fur sibling . . . A LOT!  To prevent boredom and boost her confidence, a home with another playful fur-buddy is required for this active, social girl.  Children: Because Zoey is still figuring out where she fits in and how to trust, she would be best suited with older children or teens.     Home: A single-family home or dog-friendly apartment would work for Zoey. To provide her consistency, she would greatly benefit from a family that is home more often than not.  A fenced yard is also preferred so Zoey can continue to play and sunbathe during the day. Grooming: As a Shih Tzu blend, Zoey will need professionally groomed about every 8 weeks (should budget approximately $65 per groom) with regular baths and brushing in between.  Overall: Zoey loves being out and about, and she will seek the attention of her new family.   With patience and love, Zoey is sure to shine.  Oh, and did we mention she LOVES her dog treats throughout the day? Are you the one for Zoey? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with her foster family if it's a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and is spayed. Her adoption donation is $525. ##1973333##

Story
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do but I am scared for Freddie and do not want anything bad to happen to him. I am having to find a new home for this precious boy because of another dog who wants to get Freddie whenever he sees him and Freddie has gotten injured 5 times in the past month alone because of this. Freddie is the sweetest dog I have ever met. He wants to be friends with anyone and everyone. He loves to make friends with other dogs and just wants to snuggle and play with them all (especially when it comes to his sister in picture 4). Freddie is very curious when it comes to other animals but once he figures out what they are then he wants to be best friends with them too. We have cats as well and he wants to play with them so badly and just has to settle for laying near them whenever they give him the opportunity. Freddie is amazing with kids and loves my 3 year old son more than anything in the world (in picture 3 as a baby). Freddie is 6 years old and purebred
