Story
This Sassy, sweet boy is 4 years old. 10-15 lbs a cute little mix, Everyone that has met him has seen something different in him. So manybe a chi, pug, boston, pekingese mix...only a dna test would tell us for sure. He is good with other small dogs. Not as much of a fan of the bigger dogs 50 lbs plus, that's when his sassy side really gets to show. Not a fan of the cat. Love people and seems very social, will just jump up in anyone's lap. He came to rescue when his owner passed away and the family  could not take him in. The last year (or so) his owner being elderly and not in good health, did not take the best care of Bryce and his housemate Charlotte. There were many days they did not get to go out as often as needed and learned to find places in the home to potty. Since coming to rescue that has been Bryce's biggest struggle. We have crate trained him and he will not potty in his crate, we pick him up and recieve lots of face kisses as we carry him outside and then we run and potty on everything. We have him on a belly band/male wrap while inside the house to keep him from marking and that seems to do the trick until he wiggles his way out of it, LOL. It will take someone patient giving him time to unlearn bad potty habits. adoption fee $300 includes spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic ##1999642##

Story
LOOKING FOR LOVE:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 19 lbs.  Hi, I’m Nitro!  My foster says that I’m a sweet and loyal senior companion who has the cutest white eyebrows and brown Yoda ears, a wiggle butt with an adorable nub tail, and a happy, curious, and silly personality. I was adopted for about 3 years but came back to Mostly Mutts due to being protective of my mom and biting the grandson. I don’t really recall the circumstances of that, but I have not shown that behavior in my foster home and my foster will be happy to talk to you about how great I’m doing in their home.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have previously wanted to be an only dog as I showed resource guarding, but in my foster home I’m living with 2 larger dogs, and I’ve done just fine with them after a proper introduction.  I am mostly disinterested in them and don't want to play, but we coexist and go for walks together well, etc. So, if you have a dog that sounds like this, we could meet and see how we do together. / No cats please. / No kids please due to the bite in my former home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m very devoted, loving, and sweet to my people! I’ll do best in a home where there are not too many new people coming and going because it can take a little bit for me to warm up to new folks. But once I trust you, I will nudge you to keep petting me if you stop, climb into your lap to kiss your face, and follow you everywhere around the house. I am a huge lovebug!  When I lived at the MM shelter, I was very overwhelmed/stressed with the number of people I was exposed to each day, so I had a few favorite people and there were a few bites when others came up to us suddenly.  Again, I haven’t shown any of this in my foster home. / My energy level is around a 5 - 6, especially if there is food involved! I get SO excited for food and will perk up my ears, do my tippy-tappy dance, and wiggle my entire behind whenever I hear the slightest crinkle of any bag, so cute!                           • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am very food motivated which is great for training. I’m an expert at sitting, and I will offer a sit to you anytime I think you have treats. I will come when you shake a bag of treats. My foster mom is working with me on not jumping up and other commands like stay, etc. When I lived at the shelter, I knew more commands, but I’m happy with the ones I remember now and if you would like to work on more with me, we can do that. / I've not loved the crate in the past, but I do great in a secure pen or a small room when you need to leave me alone. / I have good potty manners in my foster home on a schedule. During the day I can hold it for up to 4 hours, and then at night I hold it all night for 8 hours!    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  My two favorite things are eating food and being petted by my people. I also love walks (keep them shorter in the summer heat please), bones, car rides, and fuzzy blankets! I enjoy looking out windows and rolling around in the grass outside too. I have a great nose and love to sniff and prance around in the yard or play with puzzle toys inside. / I don’t like meeting people too quickly, so it is best to give me a little time to get to know you. Let me come to you instead of reaching for me. I will also bark at loud cars that pass by on walks. I can't do stairs that well. I can manage a few, but if there is an entire flight of stairs, you'll have to pick me up which I have been fine with in my foster home. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention too. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have a collapsing trachea so I should take shorter walks, led with a harness not a collar.  I should also not be walked much when it’s hot outside - just to go to the potty or to a cool stream. I’ve been diagnosed with Cushing’s, so I’ve started medication for that and I’m on a liver supplement.  I’ll need annual testing for Cushing’s, and I had that in Feb. 2024. I take all my meds easily for my foster! If you’re looking for a devoted dog and have a nice quiet home environment, we could be a good match!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 10, 2024, 6:11 am

Story
‘CAPITAL CITY’ THEMED PUPPY:  Approx. 7 months old / Approx. 11 lbs. and growing Hi, my name is London!  I came to Mostly Mutts with my siblings, and I’m so glad to be part of the MM family! I was adopted for a month and loved so much, but an unavoidable situation came up that prevented my family from keeping me.  They are very sad about this but are thankful that Mostly Mutts can find an equally great new home for me!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I loved my sibling but am not quite sure of other dogs yet and sometimes I can be a bit reactive/barky towards them on walks. When I fixate too much, my trainers have found that snapping your fingers helps to break my focus or having some puppy kibble with you.  I’ll be formally dog tested soon.  I did meet a 4-year-old pit mix on a walk with my foster and was sweet with them.  If you have a friendly doggie at home, let’s meet. / Cats unknown. / I liked the kids (ages 2 and 5) that I met in my temp foster home, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me as I am little. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a typically active and lively puppy!  I’ve got skills, too – as I can jump high which is typical of my breed – lol.   I have a fun, feisty and cuddly nature – ready to make lots of wonderful memories with a lucky family!  My temp foster said I was ‘full of love’, which I hope I can give to you!  My former family reported that I would bark at people, but once I met them I did well. I don’t think an apartment or condo type home would be the best fit for me as I do use my voice to communicate. / My energy level is 6-8, so be ready to be active with me! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog!  I was working on ‘sit’ and ‘come’ with my former family, so please continue my training and I’m sure you can teach me lots more too! / I’ve been good in my little room at the shelter but was not crated in my former home, so you may need to teach me this. / I’ll need you to finish potty training me.  My former family took me out every couple of hours during the day and I was learning, so please finish teaching me this.  I did get distracted by all the goings on outside, so help me stay on task. At nighttime, I was holding it for about 7 hours. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play with toys - sometimes a bit too much as I may not want to share them,  and I love to play fetch!  I’m also a fan of cuddling, Pup-Peroni treats for my training time and putting things like mulch and sticks in my mouth, so please watch me with this as they are not good for me to eat.  I also really enjoy sniffing everything outside and laying out in the sun on the grass. / I’m fearful of the loud cars around the Mostly Mutts shelter and will bark at them!  So perhaps we can find a less traveled place to go for hikes.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I’m spayed, current on my immunizations and micro-chipped. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.     May 10, 2024, 6:11 am

Story
Wiley is a young playful puppy in his teens with a lot of energy and love. He's house trained and potty trained but like any other small dog needs a lot of attention and play time. He gets very excited when he meets new people or dogs and jumps at them. Wiley will need to continue his training to be the best dog. He currently responds well to Sit and Down if you have a treat. He's very food motivated. We think he's a jack russell mix. he loves running in the yard and rolling around in the grass. He loves to cuddle and lay on the couch with you all day long and is very affectionate!Only accidents we've had with him indoors during the week and half with him were rare pee accidents and getting into snacks or food on the table. He doesn't do well in a crate but will need to be eventually crate trained if you wanna leave him home alone for a few hours. We think he will do great with a family and large fenced in yard space to wear out his energy. He also will do great with agility exercises and tricks!
