She isn't much of a couch potato, but once the day is done, she's happy to curl up in her dog bed and sleep through the night. Checkers gets along well with other dogs and even shares her home with cats. She may give them an occasional chase, but she takes correction well and quickly moves on. Curious, friendly, and affectionate, she loves being involved in whatever her people are doing and is never far from a good snuggle. She's house-trained, has not needed to be crated, and can comfortably stay home for six or more hours without any accidents. Checkers is ready to bring joy, companionship, and plenty of fun to her forever home. What We Love About Sunny Sunny absolutely adores her people. Being close to them makes her light up with excitement. While she can be over-the-top excited when meeting new people, she settles in beautifully with her trusted humans—snuggling close and offering the sweetest gentle kisses. Progress & Growth Since arriving in foster care, Sunny has made wonderful progress. When she first came home, she struggled with overstimulation, often jumping and using her mouth. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she has improved significantly and now jumps without the biting, showing how eager she is to learn and please. Meet Marley! ??Marley is a 12-year-old, 19-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who is a sweet old man looking for a comfortable place to spend his golden years.Marley was surrendered to us through no fault of his own. He came in with another dog that he had lived with for most of his life. While they had a minor altercation after arriving, we believe the stress and noise of the shelter may have played a role. They do well around each other now, but we continue to keep them separated for most of the time. Because Marley has lived successfully with another dog for most of his life, we believe he may do well with other dogs when given proper introductions and time to decompress in a new home. Marley has also had an interaction with one of our shelter cats. He was curious about the cat but didn`t seem overly interested, which was a great first impression!This friendly guy is happy to meet just about anyone. He loves getting pets and back scratches and is always ready to make a new friend. And if there is one thing Marley takes seriously, it`s treats! He loves them and will happily try to find any possible way to convince you that he deserves one. Marley isn`t particularly interested in toys, but he has plenty of other ways to keep you entertained.
