Sunny’s Story Sunny was found abandoned near a Goodwill store, hiding under a pine tree in search of shade. Despite her rough start, she has shown nothing but resilience and heart. What We Love About Sunny Sunny absolutely adores her people. Being close to them makes her light up with excitement. While she can be over-the-top excited when meeting new people, she settles in beautifully with her trusted humans—snuggling close and offering the sweetest gentle kisses. Progress & Growth Since arriving in foster care, Sunny has made wonderful progress. When she first came home, she struggled with overstimulation, often jumping and using her mouth. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she has improved significantly and now jumps without the biting, showing how eager she is to learn and please. Funny Quirks & Personality Sunny is as courageous as they come and seems to know her quick little self can stir up the bigger dogs. One of her favorite routines is sprinting down the hallway toward the door, then dramatically turning to dash outside—always with confidence and flair. The big changes were overwhelming for her, and she arrived feeling very stressed and timid. With time, patience, and lots of consistency from our staff, Rosie has begun to show small but meaningful signs of coming out of her shell with the people she knows best. Rosie does best when people listen to her boundaries. Because of this, she’s looking for a calm, understanding home with children who are teen age or older, where everyone can move at Rosie’s pace and let trust build naturally. She started out shy, but her loving personality is shining through more and more as she learns that the world isn’t so scary. Nisa is currently in a foster home and having an absolute blast with her foster sister, Sallie Jo (also adoptable!). The two are best friends and love to play, snuggle, and spend time together. While they are not technically a bonded pair, they would be very happy to stay together if someone is looking to add two dogs to their family. Nisa does well with the other dogs in the home and really thrives around canine companions. She’s very food motivated, which makes her a fun and easy candidate for learning new tricks.
