Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Tassie is a sweet girl who is ready to give all her love to her people! She is a bit shy at first but warms up to her people quickly and grows to be very affectionate. Tassie will stare lovingly at you with her big brown eyes as you give her some head rubs! As a low to medium energy dog with great manners, Tassie will adjust well to any house or apartment. While new or overwhelming environments make her stress bark, once she settles into her home she is a quiet and chill girl. Tassie loves to hang out with her best friend, Clingman, who she came to Saving Grace with. Together they enjoy playing outside and sniffing around in the yard. Tassie can be a little wary of big dogs initially, but after some sniffs, she gets along with dogs of all sizes and is happy to play or curl up in a nice soft blanket! She also gets along with cats. Tassie's favorite activity is going for walks of any length, and she does great on a leash after some excited tugging at the start of a walk. She also rides well in the car! Tassie seems to be totally potty trained in her foster home. After some initial protesting, she sleeps well through the night in her crate that she shares with Clingman, though she prefers to sleep in a dog bed. She is a smart girl who should be easy to train, especially if you have any peanut butter flavored treats. We are confident Tassie will thrive in any home with just a little patience and a whole lot of love! Come meet her on Fridays and Saturdays!

Meet Jax, the JRT (Jack Russell Terrier!) Jax comes to us from a shelter partner where we saved him on his euthanasia day. Jax is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and HW-. He LIVES to play and would do best in a home with another similar size pup, or larger dog who knows how to play with a smaller friend. When it's time for bed Jax cuddles right up to you and snoozes with the best of them. Apply for Jax at apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
Missy is typically quiet and reserved, but she has a strong prey drive. She might not be suitable for households with small animals or young children due to her tendency to chase. Missy can be a bit shy and is nervous around strangers. She sometimes barks at the doorbell and loud noises.Missy has had some issues with eating dog food. She prefers home-cooked meals and being hand-fed, often enjoying chicken and rice.Potential adopters should be prepared to continue working on her eating habits, managing her prey drive, and helping her feel comfortable around new people and in noisy environments.Best living situation:A fenced-in yard and leash walks are ideal. She has been known to chase squirrels and neighborhood cats, and once she starts, it's hard to call her back (though this doesn't happen often). She hasn't been dog-tested yet, but we plan to do that soon.Behavior/Training:Missy knows the "sit" command and enjoys treats, which can be a great motivator for further training. She is good on walks and prefers to rest when she's not active. Not big into toys, but will occasionally play tug or run around with you.Be cautious with her allergies; she sometimes reacts (scratches/licks) when outside in the grass for too long. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 18 Age: 8yrs 3mths 2wks

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application ›   This is Buster. He is 100% goodest boy! Buster is house trained, crate trained, and has excellent table manners. Buster’s idea of the perfect day is really all about quality time. Snuggles? Yes, please! Walks? Oh, yes! A shared snack? Divine! (Did I mention his table manners?!) Scritchies? Can’t get enough! Staring deeply into one another’s eyes? Absolutely! Buster has the cutest ears! And the sweetest eyes! He also grows an epic mustache if left untrimmed.  His absolute favorite thing is being outside. He would stay outside all day if he could! He loves to lounge on the grass in the sun. He has a love-hate relationship with training. He loves to please, but also acts like it was really his idea all along…! Occasionally he gets a wild hair and grabs a squeaky toy from the basket, typically just carrying it around. Sometimes he will indulge his foster in a few rounds of fetch with said toy, but it’s clear he does it out of pity for his poor foster, not because he actually enjoys it…! Like most JRTs, Buster is very smart and very opinionated. (He can grumble with the best of them! It’s honestly pretty endearing.) Buster is used to being someone’s constant companion and that is really where he thrives. At night he sleeps at the foot of his foster’s bed, under his designated fleece blanket. He follows his foster from room to room, never being more than a few feet away. (He is an excellent bathroom sentinel!) He is happiest as an only dog. He can coexist with other dogs, he gets along fine with his foster’s resident dogs, but he has a strong preference for human companions over canine companions. (Frankly, he seems to think he is a human!) He does prefer men to women, though that doesn’t seem to matter so much when there are things like walks and snacks to be had.  Buster has not been tested with cats, but will tolerate dogs. Proper introductions are important, as he can be territorial, especially with male dogs. He can also be spicy when he is feeling anxious, scared, or otherwise overestimulated. He has been around young children and done well for short periods, but a home with children would not be a good fit for him. Buster is neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, and in overall good health Would you be his pawfect match?  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 5:10 pm
