Meet Charlie – Your Loyal Little Shadow 🐾At 12 years young, Charlie is proof that age is just a number. This sweet senior still has plenty of pep in his step and truly enjoys getting out for walks and being part of your daily routine.Sadly, Charlie had a family, but when he became diabetic, they decided that paying for insulin wasn't for them - so off he went to the vet, who reached out for help from a wonderful group called Pawstively Posh Pets in Greenville, TN. We were contacted through a mutual friend, and who could resist this face?Charlie is wonderful with other dogs, but if he had his way, he’d choose to be your dog through and through. He bonds deeply with his person and will happily follow you from room to room, always wanting to be nearby. When you settle in, he does too—content just knowing you’re there. He can be left alone for short periods, but he’s really hoping for a home where someone isn’t gone all day. His happiness comes from simply being with his person.Charlie does have diabetes, which is very manageable. He takes 3 units of insulin twice a day and does great with it once he knows you—especially when there’s a treat waiting after (he insists on this arrangement). With your vet's guidance, it becomes just another easy part of your routine.Paws New England is happy to support Charlie's insulin and vet needs for his diabetes if that will help him land in a great home that might not be able to include that in their budget. He may occasionally need a belly band, as he can have some urinary accidents, but he will go outside when given the chance and is otherwise house-trained.Charlie is healthy, active, and ready to share a few truly special years with someone who sees the beauty in a senior dog. And trust us—there is something incredibly meaningful about giving a dog like Charlie the love and security he deserves.
