We are currently having issues with our adoption inquiry webform. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with an animal or multiple animals, please email us directly at info@animalhope.org or call us 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Palmer is a little guy with a big personality—about 15 lbs and 1.5 years old. His adoption fee is $300, though we’re open to adjusting that for the right home. He’s been with us for 8 months, patiently waiting for someone to see past his initial nerves and give him the loving home he deserves. Palmer doesn’t warm up right away and may bite if he feels overwhelmed, but in a calm, predictable environment, he’s made great progress.Though he was originally labeled a bite risk, we’ve seen firsthand how quickly he can adjust—it only took a couple of days for him to bond with our new kennel techs. He just needs someone willing to give him a chance. Palmer still shows stress around new people, so he’ll need someone who understands his boundaries and can give him space to decompress. He would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with little foot traffic. He can be picky with dogs and would likely do best as the only pet, though he’s done well with three calm, respectful dogs currently in our care.If you have a calm home and a patient heart, Palmer could be the perfect fit. Since we do not observe these animals in home settings, we cannot guarantee whether they are housebroken. Upon intake, we ensure the following:Spay/neuter proceduresMicrochippingAll vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (and treatment if necessary)Flea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam, scheduled 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note: Adopters must live within an hour of our facility and be at least 21 years old.Do you have any questions or would you like to schedule an appointment?

Story
Update: Sushi continues to be a very sweet girl. She loves to be beside you, and lays with her foster mom on the couch most of the night. She also LOVES car rides, and even looks out the windows! She especially loves when the windows are open. She's a good girl for her insulin injections and likes carrots for snacks. If she is doing something she shouldn't be doing, she listens when her foster mom says NO, and she stops whatever it is and walks away. Sushi is good with kids and cats do not bother her at all, but a home with no other dogs is recommended. Sushi loves to cuddle and would love to have her own person and family; however she would do best as an only dog so she can get all the love to herself. She travels great in the car and will either sit on your lap for a short trip or in the backseat with a doggy car seat. She is housetrained and will go to the door to let you know she has to go potty. She eats like a champ and takes her insulin well. She also does great at the vet and loves her vet clinic friends. She sleeps through the night and is very easy going.Sushi is not interested in toys but loves to chew on vet approved bones. She loves to sleep on the couch with a comfy blanket, and she uses dog steps to get up on the couch. She can safely jump down as long as the floor is not slippery. I have a dog stroller for Sushi and she happily will sit in it and go for a ride or sleep in it when I am sitting at the computer. She enjoys going for short walks and gets excited when you put her leash on! She also does a very funny trot out in the backyard.

**Courtesy Post**Jessie is not a Russell Rescue dog. Russell Rescue is only assisting with placement. Questions should be directed to Jessie’s owner at ksnider3@live.com ** Jessie girl is only about a year old and weighs about 30 pounds. She is as sweet as she looks. Jessie has a wonderful and fun loving personality. She’s sweet and smart and just wants to play. She loves to fetch and loves squeaky toys, and isn’t overly barky. Jessie will get along with male dogs best. Hopefully someone with a larger male will decide that Jessie is the right dog for them. She needs a playmate that isn’t tiny and delicate. Jessie will also need a little work with her training as she is still very young. We hope that her new home has someone that is home at least part of the time and who will be willing to spend a lot of time with her. Her new owner needs to be pretty energetic. Jessie is not a couch potato. She is ready to go hiking, biking, walking, running, playing with the water hose, chasing a ball, chasing a toy and just being with you! There is a small rehoming fee and her new owner will need to drive to the Dallas, Texas area to get her. Jessie is not a Russell Rescue dog. Russell Rescue is only assisting with placement. Questions should be directed to Jessie’s owner at ksnider3@live.com

Story
Say hello to Willow! Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a gentle 5-year-old, 75-pound pup with a beautiful light-colored coat and a heart full of love. Willow is Mapleâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s sister, and while they share a love for food and play, Willow has a slightly more reserved personality that makes her extra sweet. She may get excited when she first sees you, but she settles down quickly and loves a calm environment. Willow is great with kids and thrives in a home where she can feel safe and loved. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s incredibly affectionate once she warms up and enjoys quiet cuddles and gentle attention. Story
Ryzo is almost 11 years old. He was born in Illinois and has been with me since he was 3 months old. He may have some anxiety issues with riding in the car, seeing people from afar, and sometimes his own shadow at night, but he is mostly a smart, loving and playful dog. He is house trained and able to do many standard commands (and then some). He is also trained with an e-collar. I will be moving and am unable to take him with me (landlord). He is afraid of other animals, so ideally he should be in a single pet home. He is good with children of all ages. Ryzo is looking for his forever homes to live out his golden years. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Ryzo, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
