His adoption fee is $300, though we’re open to adjusting that for the right home.He’s been with us for 8 months, patiently waiting for someone to see past his initial nerves and give him the loving home he deserves. Palmer doesn’t warm up right away and may bite if he feels overwhelmed, but in a calm, predictable environment, he’s made great progress.Though he was originally labeled a bite risk, we’ve seen firsthand how quickly he can adjust—it only took a couple of days for him to bond with our new kennel techs. He just needs someone willing to give him a chance. Palmer still shows stress around new people, so he’ll need someone who understands his boundaries and can give him space to decompress.He would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with little foot traffic. He can be picky with dogs and would likely do best as the only pet, though he’s done well with three calm, respectful dogs currently in our care.If you have a calm home and a patient heart, Palmer could be the perfect fit. Since we do not observe these animals in home settings, we cannot guarantee whether they are housebroken. Rescued from a neglectful situation, Louie is now thriving and showing everyone just how much love can change a life. At just a year old, this happy little guy has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Since coming into rescue, he has been fully vetted, treated for fleas and ticks, vaccinated, and neutered. Louie has some genetic malformations affecting his spine and back legs (he's a little hunchback), but don't tell him that. He runs, plays, wrestles with his dog friends, enjoys daily walks, and keeps up just fine. His condition doesn't slow him down or affect his ability to enjoy life, and he is not incontinent. However, the would do best in a home without stairs to navigate down. What makes Louie truly special is his spirit. He is affectionate, gentle, eager to please, and incredibly smart. He knows his name, understands "no," listens well, and loves being close to his people. At night, he's happiest snuggled up in bed, but he also settles quietly in a kennel when needed. Louie gets along well with other dogs, loves chew toys, and enjoys an active lifestyle. He is making excellent progress with house training and already goes outside consistently when given the opportunity. Despite the hardships he endured during his first year, Louie remains joyful, trusting, and full of love. He deserves a family that will cherish him, celebrate his unique qualities, and ensure he never experiences neglect again.
