If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal or multiple animals, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Palmer is a little guy with a big personality—about 15 lbs and 1.5 years old. His adoption fee is $300, though we’re open to adjusting that for the right home. He’s been with us for 8 months, patiently waiting for someone to see past his initial nerves and give him the loving home he deserves. Palmer doesn’t warm up right away and may bite if he feels overwhelmed, but in a calm, predictable environment, he’s made great progress.Though he was originally labeled a bite risk, we’ve seen firsthand how quickly he can adjust—it only took a couple of days for him to bond with our new kennel techs. He just needs someone willing to give him a chance. Palmer still shows stress around new people, so he’ll need someone who understands his boundaries and can give him space to decompress. He would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with little foot traffic. He can be picky with dogs and would likely do best as the only pet, though he’s done well with three calm, respectful dogs currently in our care.If you have a calm home and a patient heart, Palmer could be the perfect fit. Since we do not observe these animals in home settings, we cannot guarantee whether they are housebroken. Upon intake, we ensure the following:Spay/neuter proceduresMicrochippingAll vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (and treatment if necessary)Flea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam, scheduled 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note: Adopters must live within an hour of our facility and be at least 21 years old.Do you have any questions or would you like to schedule an appointment?

He truly doesn’t meet a stranger—his sweet, outgoing nature shines the moment he trots up to say hello. He was originally adopted from us last year but was unfortunately returned due to his adopters separating. None of this was his fault, and despite the upheaval, Wishbone has remained cheerful, affectionate, and eager to love again. Our veterinary team noted that he is in great health, and his adoption fee is $400.Because we don’t observe our animals in home settings, we aren’t able to guarantee whether they are housebroken.Upon intake, every animal receives:Spay/neuter surgeryMicrochipAll age‑appropriate vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)Flea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note that adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility. If you have any questions or would like to set up a time to meet Wishbone, we’d be happy to help. He’s a joyful, affectionate little dog who’s more than ready to find a forever family who will adore him. 🐾✨

Story
Different, not limited—and ready to love with his whole heart. Louie’s second chance started on Mother’s Day. Rescued from a neglectful situation, Louie is now thriving and showing everyone just how much love can change a life. At just a year old, this happy little guy has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Since coming into rescue, he has been fully vetted, treated for fleas and ticks, vaccinated, and neutered. Louie has some genetic malformations affecting his spine and back legs (he's a little hunchback), but don't tell him that. He runs, plays, wrestles with his dog friends, enjoys daily walks, and keeps up just fine. His condition doesn't slow him down or affect his ability to enjoy life, and he is not incontinent. However, the would do best in a home without stairs to navigate down. What makes Louie truly special is his spirit. He is affectionate, gentle, eager to please, and incredibly smart. He knows his name, understands "no," listens well, and loves being close to his people. At night, he's happiest snuggled up in bed, but he also settles quietly in a kennel when needed. Louie gets along well with other dogs, loves chew toys, and enjoys an active lifestyle. He is making excellent progress with house training and already goes outside consistently when given the opportunity. Despite the hardships he endured during his first year, Louie remains joyful, trusting, and full of love. He deserves a family that will cherish him, celebrate his unique qualities, and ensure he never experiences neglect again. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life, Louie is ready to meet you. Ready for a meet and greet? Kick off the process with an application at www.flyingbrescue.org/adopt. Our application is thorough but there are no right or wrong answers - we just want to make sure you and the pet are the perfect match. Once we receive your application, we will schedule a phone interview. Our adoptions include a 2-week trial period with fully refundable adoption fees during that period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer transportation services and have happy families as references. We value transparency, so don’t be afraid to ask us anything.
