He enjoys playtime and outdoor activities but is never overly demanding. He has been dewormed, receives monthly parasite prevention, and eats dry kibble. *Currently, Maji is in Korea but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption applicaiton, please click here.Adopt Maji, a Gentle Young Girl Who Keeps Life SimpleMaji is just over a year old, but she has a quiet, steady way about her. She is gentle, easygoing, and undemanding.Quick FactsBreed: Jindo medium mix (13.5 kg) · Sex: Female · Born: July 2025 · Location: Korea · Traits: Calm, gentle, affectionate · Health: Spayed, vaccinatedBackgroundMaji was rescued in the summer of 2026 from a dog meat farm in Icheon, Korea. Since her rescue she has been living at a boarding house, where she has settled in easily and become one of the quieter, steadier dogs in the group.PersonalityMaji is calm and well-mannered, with a soft affectionate streak that comes out once she’s near her people. She has no shyness with strangers and doesn’t mind whether she’s meeting a man or a woman. Her energy is moderate, so she’s happy to go out and explore and equally happy to settle down afterward. Her caregivers describe her as gentle and easy, the kind of dog who quietly gets on with things.CompatibilityMaji is comfortable with both men and women and greets new people without hesitation. She has limited experience with young children, so if she is adopted by a family with kids, parents should always supervise their interactions to keep everyone safe and comfortable. It is important that parents take full responsibility for teaching both their children and their dog how to interact appropriately, and helping children understand a dog’s boundaries and body language is especially important. She gets along well with other dogs, though she has clear preferences. Maji enjoys the company of calm, easygoing dogs and would rather not be crowded by pushy playmates who get right in her face. A polite, mellow canine friend would suit her well.Maji hasn’t lived with cats before, so we can’t say for certain how she’d do. Knowing her calm, gentle nature, though, we think it’s possible with a slow, gradual introduction, plenty of patience, and enough space for each of them to have their own retreat while they get used to one another.Behaviours & TrainingMaji takes daily life in stride. She rides well in the car, handles vet visits without fuss, and is cooperative at bath time. She enjoys her walks and has plenty of walking experience. She prefers to relieve herself outdoors, has no notable barking, and isn’t a chewer. Her caregivers haven’t noticed any signs of separation anxiety.Health & DietMaji is spayed, dewormed, micorchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. She has had no other surgeries or treatments, and no known allergies. She has passed her veterinary screening and is healthy and ready for a forever home. She eats kibble twice a day and has not shown any food allergies or sensitivities so far.Ideal HomeMaji would do well in a calm household where she can settle at her own pace. She isn’t a demanding dog by nature, but like any rescue arriving in a new environment, she will need time to adjust and get comfortable. A family who can offer patience, gentle structure, and clear boundaries while she finds her footing is a must. A home that enjoys daily walks will keep her happy, and an existing dog with a similarly relaxed temperament would be a lovely match for her. After the start she had in life, Maji is ready for a family who will give her the quiet, steady love she’s been waiting for.*Currently, Maji is in Korea but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption applicaiton, please click here.

Story
*Note: Currently, Jinu is in Korea, but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundJinu was one of six puppies born to a mother dog who was rescued from euthanasia. Jinu was an adorable puppy, but he was born with a congenital deformity in his left front leg. It is shorter than his other legs. Despite his difficult start in life, he has grown into a happy, playful, and affectionate dog. He currently lives at the shelter with his siblings and many other dogs.Personality and SocializationJinu is a very friendly, outgoing, and affectionate boy. He is great with strangers and is usually the very first dog to run over and greet new visitors with a wagging tail. He loves attention and happily leans in for pets and affection. He gets along well with both men and women and is comfortable around adult men. Jinu is very social with other dogs and spends every day playing with around twenty other dogs at the shelter. Sometimes, however, he can get a bit overwhelmed if larger or stronger dogs are too pushy. He would do best with gentle dogs in a peaceful environment rather than at a busy dog park.BehavioursJinu loves to run and play and moves around without any difficulty. He is quick, active, and enjoys exploring. He has not had many opportunities to ride in the car, but he handles car rides well. He also cooperates nicely during baths and veterinary exams. He walks well on leash and enjoys spending time outdoors. Jinu is both indoor and outdoor house trained.Since he has always lived with his littermates and other dogs, it is difficult to know whether he experiences separation anxiety when left completely alone. At the shelter, however, he sleeps by himself at night without any problems.Health and DietJinu is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He is healthy and ready to find his forever home. He eats regular dry kibble and has no known food allergies.Jinu was born with a shorter left front leg. This congenital condition does not require any special treatment. He walks, runs, and plays confidently without pain or limitations. The vet says regular exercise will help him build more muscle and make walking even easier. His unique little leg is simply part of what makes him special.Ideal HomeJinu would love a family looking for an affectionate and social companion. Someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with him would be an ideal match. He thrives on human attention and will happily greet you every day with excitement and love. He could do well in a home with another gentle and friendly dog or as an only dog, provided he receives plenty of companionship, exercise, and enrichment.Jinu has overcome a difficult beginning and is now ready for the happy life he deserves. All he needs is a family who will see beyond his little leg and love him for the wonderful dog he is.*Note: Currently, Jinu is in Korea, but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.

Story
*Note: Hopang is in Korea now but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or to submit an adoption application, please click here.BackgroundHopang was one of the 101 dogs rescued from the Siheung dog meat farm in Korea. Since his rescue, he has been living at our partner boarding house. Over time, he has revealed himself to be a gentle, sweet natured boy with a loyal heart.Personality and SocializationHopang gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He is friendly, social, and enjoys having canine companions around him. He is comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities and has never shown aggression. He especially enjoys the company of gentle and friendly dogs. In fact, Hopang feels most confident when he has another dog by his side. Having a canine friend helps him navigate new situations and brings out his playful, relaxed personality. For this reason, we are looking for a home with at least one friendly resident dog. With people, Hopang was shy during his first few years after rescue. However, with patience, consistency, and kindness, he has made tremendous progress. He now seeks out attention from people he knows and enjoys gentle pets and companionship. Watching him open up and show his affectionate side has been incredibly rewarding. He especially loves spending time outdoors, lounging in the sunshine, and simply enjoying a peaceful day.BehavioursHopang can be cautious when visiting new places or meeting unfamiliar people, but he settles in much more quickly when another confident dog is present. He does particularly well with calm, patient people who understand that trust is earned over time.He rides well in the car and has excellent manners during vet visits and bath time. While these experiences may not be his favourite, he allows handling politely and cooperatively. Building trust through positive experiences is very important for Hopang, and he responds best to gentle guidance rather than correction.Hopang lived with a trainer for two years, where he learned leash walking skills and gained confidence in everyday situations. He walks well on leash, is quiet in the home, and rarely barks. Aside from needing some time to adjust to new environments and unfamiliar people, he is generally an easygoing and well mannered dog.Health and DietHopang is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He has been dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats kibble twice daily and has shown no known allergies. He has also received a full veterinary examination and dental care, including scaling. Hopang is healthy and ready to find his forever family.Ideal HomeHopang would thrive in a patient and understanding home with previous large dog experience. A home with at least one friendly, confident medium or large sized dog is essential, as another dog helps him feel secure and comfortable.A quiet residential environment would suit him best. A busy downtown setting would likely be overwhelming, while a home with a fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus to help him adjust and enjoy outdoor time safely. Most importantly, Hopang needs a family that understands he may not be the type of dog who immediately greets strangers or adapts overnight. He needs time to build trust and feel safe. In return, he offers something very special: deep loyalty, quiet companionship, and a genuine bond built on mutual respect and love.Hopang is a beautiful soul who has already overcome so much. The world was once a frightening place for him, but each day he grows more confident and hopeful. With patience and kindness, his future family will have the privilege of watching him continue to blossom into the wonderful companion he was always meant to be.*Note: Hopang is in Korea now but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or to submit an adoption application, please click here.
