MY RESCUE STORY
Hi, I’m Haechan — a fluffy boy with a naturally smiling face and a heart that took time to bloom. I likely spent the early part of my life as a stray, never knowing what it meant to be loved. When I first entered the shelter, I was afraid of being touched or approached and would keep my distance. But everything changed once I met patient people who helped me realize that love doesn’t hurt. Over time, I opened my heart — and now I’m ready to give it to a forever family who sees how far I’ve come.

MY PERSONALITY
I’m a gentle, intelligent, and affectionate dog who now thrives on human connection. Once I trust you, I become incredibly loving — I give kisses, lean in close, and sometimes gently place my paws on you just to say, “I love you.” I’m loyal, sweet, and full of gratitude. Even though I was once timid, I’ve become the kind of dog who greets new people with curiosity and kindness. I have a naturally smiling face, and I really am as happy as I look now.
MY SOCIAL SKILLS
With People: These days, I show interest in both familiar and new people. I enjoy gentle pets, love being close, and happily say hello. I’m not the biggest fan of being lifted under the belly — I’ll tolerate it when needed (like getting into the car), but I’d rather keep all four paws on the ground.
With Dogs: I greet other dogs politely and am especially friendly with smaller dogs. I don’t usually play, but I like being around well-mannered pups. I do best with calm introductions — if another dog becomes aggressive, I may respond defensively, so supervision during first meetings is important.
With Cats: I haven’t lived with cats, but on walks I’ll look at them with curiosity and move on easily when my handler redirects me. With proper introductions, I may do well in a home with cats.
ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES
I enjoy walks, companionship, and bonding time. I have a moderate energy level and love being mentally engaged — I know “Sit” and “Shake,” and I’m currently training at Level 2 in the rescue dog program! I thrive when I’m learning and love making my people proud. After exercise or training, I enjoy settling down close to the humans I love.
