Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Coach and his little sister Marley have grown up in the Texas Hill Country with goats and chickens, and were surrendered to us in early December. Since coming to Windsong Ranch, they have both been to the vet for vaccinations, heartworm test (negative!), and spay/neuter surgery. We are rotating them in and out of our pasture as we confirm what we were told by their previous owner. So far, both dogs have done well with our goats, but we haven't yet tested them with our chickens. Marley and Coach both get along well with other dogs. Both are very playful, and we intentionally rotate them in the pasture separately, so we can confirm that they will play with OTHER dogs, not just with each other. These dogs are very friendly with people and would do well on a small homestead where they will get plenty of attention and affection from the family. Please complete the application on our website if you are interested in meeting Marley or Coach.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 3:03 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mouse King is one of the Nutcracker Suite puppies who looks more like his dad, a purebred Komondor, than his mom, an Anatolian Shepherd. In their first home, these puppies were living with chickens, ducks, geese, a couple of goats, dogs, barn cats, and a few assorted other animals so they have had a great diversity of exposure. When he was VERY young (just a few weeks old) Mouse King suffered a traumatic brain injury believed to have been caused by a goat either kicking him or head-butting him when his skull was still puppy-soft. He seems healthy and robust, and he is growing like a weed, but his intellectual development seems delayed compared to his siblings. For example, he loves taking treats from my hand, but he doesn't seem to comprehend the concept of SIT, which his sisters learned in just a couple of days. Mouse King is really playful with other pups and sometimes seems a little more rambunctious than they are, as though he has no inhibitions. If another pup corrects him to tell him he's being too rough, he cries and backs off. He settles very quickly in the barn, but is more rowdy when outside. With all of this in mind, we don't think Mouse King should be adopted as a future LGD. He could be a wonderful PET on a small homestead where he could live around livestock. But he could also go to a traditional suburban home with no livestock, with another playful dog as his companion. In our experience with another dog who had a traumatic brain injury as a wee pup, her developmental delays did not inhibit her house/potty-training, so our expectation is that Mouse King could learn house manners too. If you have a heart for special needs pups, we hope you'll consider Mouse King. In our experience, the only real accommodation needed was to keep expectations reasonable -- to be willing to love the pup and not worry too much about obedience training. Story
Luffy, pronounced Loofy, is almost 4. He loves to be pet and spend time with humans. I have a house full of people that are allergic to him and unfortunately we just don't have time to spend with him or walk him. He also has allergies in the winter, but they have started to clear up now that the grass is getting greener. He is well trained (we sent him to All Dogs Unleashed) he can even put away his toys with the right command. He is also crate and potty trained. He really is a great dog and deserves a family that will love him and spend time with him. Our child has had what the doctor believes could be an allergy related cough for the last few months. We are also looking to downsize to a new place that does not have a yard. If you're looking for a dog that will be happy to see you when you come home and just be happy being next to you, this is our Luffy. I hope you find it in your heart to give him a chance. Thank you for reading!

Story
Junebug, also affectionately nicknamed June, Junie, and Buggy by her foster family, turned 13 weeks old! She weighed in at 26lbs. Per Wisdom Panel, she is a Great Pyrenees/Australian Cattle Dog mix expected to weigh between 60-97lbs when full grown. Junebug is kennel trained and only wakes up once during the night to go potty. She is doing fantastic with potty training and will let her foster family know that she has to use the restroom by going to the back door. She still has a couple of accidents a day, but she is really catching on! Junebug is very food motivated, which has made training super easy. She knows how to sit, lay down, and place on command. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and would thrive in a forever home with a canine playmate or with owners with Great Pyrenees experience! Her favorite place to nap is on the fireplace or on the hardwood floor. She isn’t a huge fan of dog beds or cuddling. We are guessing with all of her hair, she gets hot easily! If you are interested in adopting Junebug, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org *Due to her expected adult size, we will not be placing her in an apartment. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##1996511##
