Story
Scout was pulled from the euthanasia list at a shelter in NYC. He has been in his loving foster home for three months now and is eager to find his forever human. He is a sweet boy, approximately 1-2 years old. He weighs around 50-60 lbs. He loves playing outside, chewing bones, and does well in the car! He is treat motivated and gets along well with most dogs (a meet and greet would be necessary as he has a very bold personality and doesn’t mesh well with other dogs that have an equally strong personality). He has not been tested with cats but that can be arranged if needed. Scout is very in tune with his handler and likes to bond closely with his person. He is also incredibly smart. Scout will need continued training (with the help of a professional) for overcoming his reactivity towards people entering the home.

Story
This fun, outgoing, active girl is ready to work her way into your heart! Belle loves everything and everyone and will light up your life with her positive energy. We will be honest that sometimes her enthusiasm is excessive, so she needs someone who can reinforce good behavior so she doesn't jump or knock others over. For that reason we would prefer her to be in a home with no young children who live there all the time. She would be fine with kids visiting since she adores them, but she will need to get her initial excitement out first. Belle enjoys being on the go, riding in the car, meeting new people and exploring the world but she does settle when she is at home and is a perfect couch potato. She is good on leash when she is out and about and loves exploring. While Belle loves other dogs, we have found that she loves them a little too much and not all dogs love her enthusiasm for them. We are working on helping her learn how to regulate and channel her excitement so until that is better, we prefer that she lives as an only pet. No cats for the same reason. A fenced yard would be ideal and she is currently trained on an electric fence which she can be out on as long as you are monitoring her. Belle is a perfect medium size at about 45 lbs, and she is even more beautiful in person. She thrives with structure and training and LOVES to be with her people. She is being fostered in Litchfield county Connecticut so please fill out an application if you would like to meet her! www.spottydogrescue.org ##1473726##

Story
Hello!  My name is Rimo - (pronounced Reemo)  Or at least that is what my foster parents call me. They say I am a mellow, yet fun loving pup, who loves to play with other dogs but also enjoys my alone time.  The vet said I was about one year old in January.   The vet called me a lab mix and I do have webbed feet and I do love food, but I have not been DNA tested.  I have been neutered and chipped and I am up to date on my vaccinations.  I take a heartworm/flea/tick pill once a month without any complaints too.  I weigh around 50 pounds, but even though I am still growing into my body (they say I have a puppy way of walking and jumping), they do not think I will get any bigger.  I have been living with my foster parents (I found them in Guerrero Negro in Baja Mexico!) in their van for about 4 months now.  Our first two months together we were in Mexico on beaches and in the desert.  Since then we have been camping and visiting all kinds of places across the USA.   I have learned about grass - I love rolling in grass!  And eating it too.   I have played in snow!  Wow, that was awesome.  I have seen all kinds of new animals - hmmm,   I do want to play with them all - especially bunnies and squirrels.   I am still not sure about those cows and horses. I like running free when I can but with all these new things around I have been spending more time on the leash.    I do not mind being on a leash and I am learning not to pull too much.  I understand stay, leave it, sit and slow -  so my leash training is going well.    Sometimes we go by places with great smells or meet new creatures, if I was not on a leash, I might just wander off to investigate these new potential playmates or try to go into someone else’s house or camper.   I do try and stay really close to my foster parents when I am free.  I want to know exactly where they are at all times,  so I check in with them to be sure I can see them.   I am working on my immediate recall though.  It is those smells - hard for me to ignore.    I am very comfortable when we drive in the van or in someone else’s car.   If it is a long ride I just fall asleep after awhile.  I love spending my days outside moving from the sun to the shade and back to the sun. I like hiking and exploring, but also getting to know the area around where we are staying and all the people and dogs that are there.  There are always a lot of different dogs that come by. I let them come into the van and I even let steal my bones and toys. Sometimes my foster parents give them treats.  I am fine with that too,  as long as I get one.   I love getting treats.   They say I am very food motivated but not food aggressive. As of a few weeks ago,  I have been learning about houses.  We have been visiting my foster parent’s friends and family.   Wood floors definitely scared me,  but now I know how to walk on them.  Stairs were new to me,  but now I can race up and down them. I now know I LOVE houses!  There are usually other creatures for me to play with too.  One house had an old dog and a cat. I found them interesting, but I knew not to play with them.  They needed their space.   One house had an older dog but also a fenced in yard with lots of squirrels.   We had a good time chasing squirrels together.   That dog did not like sharing food, but I had no trouble with that.  Oh, did I tell you I am totally potty trained? I surprised my foster parents the other day and barked while playing with another dog.  That is really the only time I bark.  I am a very quiet dog.   I am a bit nervous around other dogs till I get to know them.  I let them tell me it is alright to play.   If I am scared of a dog I become very submissive and roll over.   So, I think I would do well in a home with or without other dogs. Maybe an older dog will teach me what I need to know.  But it sure would be fun to have a playmate.   If I did not have another dog in the house, I would love to go to dog parks or have play time with other dogs. I would do really well with a fenced in yard or in a place without too much traffic so I could run loose at times. I am very loyal and will always come back, but I am young and I like to explore, sniff and run around too.  If I did not have an enclosed area, I would want to get out several times a day for a walk or run.   Walks do not need to be too long as I get tired and hot pretty quickly in the sun (I am a black dog), but I can also go on a 15 mile mountain hike, or join someone jogging. I have even learned to climb on rocks. I walk very well with other dogs on leash even on trails.  I love all the different people I have met, especially those who give me treats.  Everyone says I have a very gentle mouth and my foster parents are always giving treats to little children who want to pet me. I sit and take the treats gently and I love their attention.    As I said, I will need some training.  I am still a puppy.   I do not think I will get any bigger and I am very gentle and I want to be a good boy.  I will give a lot of love to anyone in my life.  Everyone who meets me says I am SO handsome and a very relaxed boy!  I hope I find my furever home soon so I can learn their routine and what they will expect from me.   If you would like to know more about me or meet me,  please get in touch with my foster mom Gabrielle at 617-230-4847 via text or phone call.  Or, you could email her at gabriellebrunner2@hotmail.com ##2406986##

Story
Meet Odette!Breed Guess: Labrador Retriever mix                    Age: Puppy @ 19 weeks old  Weight: 13lbs.  Other Animals: Odette is great with other dogs of all ages but she loves to be around other small dogs! A little shy at first but once they get to know each other a bit it's playtime!! Not sure about large dogs, cats, or other animals as she hasn't met any yet. She has learned to respect other dogs corrections. Kids: has not met any yet. Calm respectful children can be considered.House training: Working on it but progressing well. She goes pretty quickly when we take her outside and has had minimal accidents in the house. Her foster is not using pee pads with her, just taking her outside frequently. Exercise needs: She needs 3-4 dedicated playtime sessions per day. She loves to run around with other dogs and chase balls and other toys! Leash walking is still a work in progress but ideally a moderate walk or two would be beneficial. What she's great at: She is a very quick learner! She is doing great with her potty training, even asking at the door to go outside! She has also already learned "sit" and is working on some other commands. What she's working on: She is still getting used to alone time in her crate and playpen, but she is improving every day. She is also very curious and thinks everything (including hands) is a toy to chew on, so she often needs to be redirected to actual toys. Personality: She was a bit timid at first, but warmed up to her foster quickly. She is super sweet and affectionate, and she loves to cuddle just as much as she loves to play with toys! She is so much fun to watch and play with as she is very silly and goofy as well. Odette's Story: Found on the streets of St. Thomas with her sisters Orla and Essence. Dream Home: She would love a home and fenced yard with plenty of space to run around and play, and she would love to be around other dogs that can handle her puppy energy. ##2368039##
