Story
Meet Ansley, a young adult spayed female lab/hound mix! She is about 1 year old and weighs 43 lbs lbs. She is a very sweet girl! We are accepting applications for her now! Ansley can do a 1 week foster to adopt trial with an approved adopter so you can see how she settles in before committing to adoption.Her foster said, "1 Year old Ansley would like to say “Hey! Hello! Hi! Yes, You! LOOK AT ME!!” and now that she has your attention she would like you to know the following things about her:
Ansley LOVES food, grown ups, food, children, food, other dogs (from 1lb to 100lbs), food, toys, and did we mention food?She has been OK with most cats, the goats at her local petting zoo, and 3 of the 5 horses - the two large draft horses are a little scary so she is SLOWLY warming up to them and getting used to seeing them a few days a week.Ansley would be best in a home without birds or rodents.
Ansley is still very much a puppy meaning:She is house trained, she USUALLY does very well on a leash, and she does settle and sleep in her crate mess free for about 8hours at night HOWEVER she is really just now learning to pair her actions with the verbal aspect of most commands – though she is incredibly easily motivated, eager to learn, and smart as a whip!
Unfortunately life hasn’t given Ansley the stability, security, and reliability she truly deserves which means:She is a little insecure about being left alone and will loudly make her complaints known while crated, however, the crate is incredibly essential to her safety when left unsupervised because she will not make good life choices without it. It also means that Ansley is still learning about food security and will need time, patience, and routine before she is able to safely take meals in the same space as other dogs in the home – her current foster mom is happy to talk about that process with interested applicants and work with an approved adopter to get through the process!"
Her foster mom has this to say: “If you are looking for a constant companion to join you on walks or hikes when the warm sun is shining, drive around looking at the colors of New England in the fall, and snuggle inside you under a blanket at night or on cold wet days Ansley is 100% going to be your ride or die best girl in the world!”

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
