Story
FOSTER HOME DESPERATELY NEEDED! Winston #7395 is roughly, a 1 year old, male VERY MALNOURISHED... LITERALLY SKIN AND BONES, (35lbs) Labradoodle mix (we are guessing) who was dumped on the side of the road with 2 other dogs. This guy... geeze.... he is needing a home where he can learn what being a well loved dog should be all about. We don't know much about him, but he was found malnourished, dehydrated, and fur soaked in feces and urine, so that is the reason for his sad haircut... he had to be shaved to the skin. Winston shivers in AC and outside in the chilly mornings, so he has been wearing a sweatshirt and belly band for right now.  We are told that he initially shys away at head pets, but does seek attention. He loves ear and body rubs and cuddles for sleep and is seemingly a Velcro dog as he follows his temp foster like a shadow. He lived with a cat and ignored it, gets along with other dogs and is very sweet and friendly. He is curious wandering the house and yard checking everything out. He is ravenous and enthusiastic but not food aggressive and takes food from hand with no nipsHe could be a counter surfer since he’s so hungry, but we are still learnin and jumps with excitement for food. He is always wanting to eat (poor baby has been starved for so long) and takes food with gusto but gentle. Because he was so starved he does take treats very enthusiastically. Because of that, we feel he shouldn't be in a home with small kids. He has had several medical issues that GRRAND has taken care of, and as you see in the progression of photos, his hair is growing, he is healthy,  back and he's putting weight on nicely. He loves playing with other dogs, but most remarkably, even though he was grossly mistreated, he loves people and wants to climb in your lap for hugs and cuddles!  He is smart and can sit. We are working on house training and making slow but steady progress - he's still a lot of puppy!  This sweet guy needs a lot of TLC while he gains weight and learns what it is like to live in a house, know what love is, a soft doggie bed and food for him on a regular basis. We are still learning about Winston, but would love for him to go to a foster home instead of the kennel to help him get healthy. He will need a home that has the time, patience and compassion to work with him, as assuming all things having to do with living in a house will be newish to him.  If you would like to bust him out of the kennel and bring him home to nurse him back to good health, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org     ##2516602##
