This sweet and playful boy spent his  entire life outdoors but is quickly embracing the comforts of indoor living. He adores people and is always up for an adventure. Beau has a funny obsession with toys—he’ll try to carry as many as possible in his mouth at once! In fact, here’s a video of him trying really hard to do just that!  He’s fully potty trained and sleeps soundly through the night. He sleeps in his crate but would be happy to snuggle up with you too! Here’s a video of Beau walking pretty nicely on leash and he’s working on not pulling at the sight of a squirrel or bunny. While he loves to play with and chew on dog toys, he is non destructive with human items.  Beau thrives as the center of attention and would love to be your one and only pet as he's reported to not get along well with other dogs or cats. With all the love he has to give, he’ll be the perfect loyal companion for someone looking for a devoted best friend! Beau is from an Owner Surrender. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! I’m Bennie, and I’m one fun, energetic guy looking for a family to call my own! I used to be called Musa, but my foster family decided to stick with the name Bennie, which I think fits me just fine. I’m a *busy* boy—if I’m in the car, I’m a little all over the place because I just *love* car rides! I’m so excited, I want to be close to you, and I’d happily sit on your lap if you let me. I am doing pretty good with my crate training too as long as I am not in there all day alone.  Here’s a sweet video of me relaxing on the couch!   I’m also a *talker*! I love to bark to get your attention, but I promise I’m just excited. I’ve already learned the word “sit” and I’m working on more basic training. In fact, here’s a video of me ‘sitting’. I’m super smart and really food motivated, so I pick things up quickly—especially if there’s a treat involved. I’m also getting the hang of walking with my gentle leader; at first, I pulled a little, but I’m learning fast and it makes a world of difference! I’m great with cats who don’t run. I get a little curious and may want to sniff, but if they start running away, I admit I want to chase them. It’s not out of meanness, just pure excitement. I haven’t met too many dogs yet, but the resident dog, Nyah, and I hit it off. I really want to play with dogs my size, though, because I don’t always know how big I am, and I’m still working on understanding personal space (especially when I want to cuddle!). I sleep in my foster mom’s 16-year-old’s room and I’m a big cuddler. I’m also a fan of squeaky toys—anything that keeps me busy and entertained! I need an active family who can give me plenty of exercise and adventure. I’d be thrilled to go on hikes, walks, or any other fun outings. I love to explore and see the world around me. I’m a *big* fan of people and greet everyone with tons of enthusiasm, but I’m still learning not to jump up in my excitement. I might be a little much for tiny kiddos, just because I don’t always realize how big I am and could accidentally knock them over, but I’m great with my foster family’s 7-year-old. I adore hugs and kisses! If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and playful companion who will always be by your side, I might just be the one for you! Let’s go on adventures together—I can’t wait to meet you! Bennie was born on the beautiful White Earth reservation on 4/22/2024. Sadly, shortly after the puppies were born, their beloved owner passed away. The mother and her 12 puppies found temporary shelter at animal control up North. At just two weeks old, they were welcomed into a Ruff Start Rescue foster home. Bennie found his way back into rescue and is looking for his forever home! Bennie is now 9 month old and full of life! He would love a family that can exercise him a lot and work with him on training - Bennie wants to learn! Bennis is good with dogs, he's kennel trained and potty trained! One of his siblings had a DNA test done and it confirmed that the puppies are mostly Lab and Shepherd! He's a sweet boy! Bennie is from a local reservation. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Mutt Damon (or Damon for short)! Damon is the perfect blend of playful energy and affectionate snuggles. Rescued from a local impound, he’s now thriving in his foster home and is ready to find a family to call his own. Whether he’s lounging on the couch or curling up beside you in bed, Damon is a true professional when it comes to relaxation and is the ultimate cuddle buddy.  Damon gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, making him an ideal companion in a multi-pet household. He’s calm, friendly, and enjoys their company. Damon thrives with canine companions and would benefit from having a dog buddy to play and interact with. Damon’s foster home also has two children (ages 7 and 12) and he shows patience and a gentle nature toward them. Damon is full of love and affection, but like many playful pups, he can be a bit mouthy at times when he is really excited. No worries—giving him a toy or bone to chew on redirects his attention, and he’s very gentle with them, never tearing them apart.  Damon enjoys going for walks and running around in the yard. He’s well-mannered on a leash, walking at a calm, steady pace without pulling. He’s also comfortable walking with multiple dogs, and he’s calm and friendly when passing other dogs or people on walks. Damon has been exposed to various environments with multiple people and other animals and consistently does well. Damon remains composed and approachable, showing no signs of stress or aggression. Damon demonstrates great behavior during his time in the kennel, noting no accidents and maintains a quiet demeanor. However, while Damon adapts well to his kennel accommodations, it’s important to note that he does prefer spending time outside of the kennel. He thrives in environments where he can enjoy more freedom and interaction with his human companions. Are you ready to meet Damon? He’s waiting to join a loving family where he can thrive, play, and give his whole heart.  Mutt Damon is from a local shelter.
