Are you looking for a fluffy, goofy companion? Look no further! Marcus (or Marky-Mark) is YOUR guy! He’s a young pup full of energy and life! We’re working on potty training and walking on leash - but he’s a motivated learner. He enjoys being outdoors and really likes romping around with his new foster sister. Marcus has been gentle with kids and respectful of boundaries. Marcus is looking for a family to call his own that loves him unconditionally! He’s sure to brighten your days! Marcus is estimated to be 5 months old and 32 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. If you are interested in a specific animal, please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance the morning of the event: https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ You do not need to have a Facebook account to check the Safe Hands Facebook page for attendance. Story
Metro is the kind of puppy who brings a little extra joy and laughter into every room he enters. This young Lab and American Staffy mix is full of goofy charm, playful energy, and a heart that just wants to be close to his people. He is friendly with humans of all ages and does well with other dogs, making him a great fit for a variety of homes. Metro can be a little unsure when meeting new people at first, but give him a minute and you will see his sweet, affectionate personality shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he is all about playtime, cuddles, and sticking by your side. Like most puppies, Metro is still learning the ropes. He is mostly potty trained and will thrive with a consistent routine and a little patience. He is crate trained and leash trained, rides well in the car, and already loves classic puppy activities like playing with toys and chasing after a ball, even if he sometimes gets a little mixed up and runs the wrong way, which only adds to his charm. Metro has a playful, active spirit and would love a home that enjoys the outdoors and includes him in daily adventures. He would also do wonderfully with another dog to help burn off energy and show him the way. When it is time to wind down, he is more than happy to be your lap companion and soak up all the affection you are willing to give. He may whimper a bit when settling into his kennel, but with consistency and reassurance, he quickly relaxes and drifts off to sleep. Metro is that perfect mix of silly, sweet, and loving. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling and fill your days with play and affection, Metro might just be your perfect match. Metro is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/7/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Story
My name is Abigail, and I am a gentle, sweet, easygoing girl with tons of love to give. I recently found myself at the shelter when my human forgot to take me with them when they moved out of their apartment. Silly human! I was a little shy at first, but quickly became a shelter volunteer favorite. I love just about everyone I've met since then - humans and dogs! At the shelter I got to play with lots of dog friend! If you copy and paste this URL to your browser, you can check out these videos of me: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS5FLiVr89sqDrgYxmJSpTlKZ4MD4ghc6&si=7zYX7uoqyrFnSUzR Some nice volunteers at the shelter also took me on runs, which I loved, so if you're looking for a running buddy or just an outdoorsy kind of pal, I might be a great fit. I am a little nervous when I hear loud noises or see unfamiliar things - I saw my own reflection in a mirror the other day and boy that was a trip! - but I am gaining more confidence every day. I am potty trained and have very nice house manners. I share my foster home with two other dogs, and since we don't know each other that well yet, we have separate rooms in the house, but I play bounce at them from across the baby gate every chance I get! Sometimes when I have to go in my crate I am a little sad if everyone is hanging out without me, but I settle in fast and sleep through the night without a peep. I have a moderate amount of energy for sure, but I’m not bouncing off the walls and I love a good cuddle sesh after playtime, too. I am super smart and have a strong herding instinct (see the video of me with my big ball!). I think I would thrive with a family who could give me a “job” or enroll me in some fun dog sports! My favorite things so far are toys - ALL the toys! Squeaky ones are the best, and I'm really talented at entertaining myself with them. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure to shove my favorite toys in your lap so you can play with them, too! I haven't met any cats yet, but my foster mom thinks I could do OK with a dog-savvy cat and slow introductions. Same goes for kids - I am a gentle girl and I suspect I would love little humans as well. Please reach out to Ruff Start if you want to meet me and see for yourself why they call me Abigail the Perfect!

Story
Hi, I’m Suzie 💛 I’m a sweet, loyal girl who just wants to be by your side. More than anything, I’m looking for my person, someone to share life with, whether that’s going for walks, playing outside, or snuggling up at the end of the day. If I could crawl inside your hoodie and live there, I would. I’m a professional cuddler, a champion snuggler, and happiest when I’m close to my people. I do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as I really love having that constant companionship. I love being outside; give me fresh air, a good sniff session, and space to stretch my legs and I’m a happy girl. I’ll chase a ball like I mean it… bringing it back is optional. I’m also very food-motivated and eager to learn, I already know “sit” and am working on “down”! I can be a little unsure when meeting new people, especially men, but with a gentle approach, kind words, and maybe a treat or two, I warm up and show my sweet, loving personality. I would do best in a home without cats or small animals, as I can get a little too interested in them, especially when they’re on the move. With the right match and proper introductions, I may be able to live with another dog, especially one who is confident and respectful. I’m still learning how to feel comfortable when left alone, so I’m looking for a home that can be patient and help me build confidence over time. I’m a bit of a chewer, so sturdy toys are my jam (stuffed animals don’t stand a chance). I’m also delightfully goofy, I’ll wander off to explore, then come running back for a quick check-in and some love. The way I look at you? That’s me memorizing you. That’s me loving you. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, an adventure buddy, and a snuggle bug all in one… I’m right here. 💛
