Story
Liesel is a sweet girl with loads of energy. She likes walks, but needs a fenced yard to run and fetch as well. She is dog reactive and when she came to us we were told she does not like other dogs, but that isn't true. She is just dog selective and has spent time with six different dogs while in our care and has done very well. Introducing the dogs in a proper manner is crucial to successfully getting Liesel to accept a new canine friend. She gets very excited when you first come home or greet her and will tend to jump to say HI, but once things get calm, she calms down as well. She has had some training sessions with 3 different trainers and knows some commands. Liesel has calmed down slightly since coming to us, but she will always be a bit high strung and her adopter must understand and accept that. it is just part of who she is. Liesel loves people, both children and adults, and just needs someone to love her for the dog she is. She wants to please and will be loyal and loving forever, if given the chance..

Looking for a spunky little lady to keep you company? Meet Papaya! This pretty girl came to us as a stray, nervous and unsure of us. Thankfully Papaya turned right around, and is now everyone's best friend! She is a sweet, goofy, playful girl and would love a family that can match that energy. She loves toys and is happy to roll around with a squeaky toy or chew all day long. Papaya absolutely loves the water, be it splashing around in a kiddie pool or playing in the hose. She already knows some skills including "sit" and "shake"! Papaya is uncomfortable around both dogs and cats and prefers not to interact, so she would prefer calm and respectful four-legged housemates or to be the star of the show. Papaya has met a couple of children since being in the shelter, and does well with them! If you have other animals at home we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Papaya home.
