Story
Liesel is a sweet girl with loads of energy. She likes walks, but needs a fenced yard to run and fetch as well. She is dog reactive and when she came to us we were told she does not like other dogs, but that isn't true. She is just dog selective and has spent time with six different dogs while in our care and has done very well. Introducing the dogs in a proper manner is crucial to successfully getting Liesel to accept a new canine friend. She gets very excited when you first come home or greet her and will tend to jump to say HI, but once things get calm, she calms down as well. She has had some training sessions with 3 different trainers and knows some commands. Liesel has calmed down slightly since coming to us, but she will always be a bit high strung and her adopter must understand and accept that. it is just part of who she is. Liesel loves people, both children and adults, and just needs someone to love her for the dog she is. She wants to please and will be loyal and loving forever, if given the chance..

Meet Lucky! Lucky came to us after being surrendered by his owner to our veterinarian. We are still getting to know Lucky because he is new to us. Unfortunately the shelter environment is chaotic and has been stressful for Lucky, so he is hoping his furever family can see past his seemingly anxious behavior to the help him become the good boy we know he can be. Lucky previously lived with another dog, and may do well with a confident doggy playmate at home. He is a young and energetic boy, so a family that will keep him active is ideal. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Lucky home. Story
Sadie is a great dog, who we recued from the Franklin County shelter in 2018. She is 8.5 years old, never had any medical issues, up to date on shots, spayed, and an all around great dog. She lives with another lab and 2 small children, who she gets along with great. Sadie has no special needs and is potty trained very well. She hasn't had an accident in the house in years. Sadie loves to be outside and run more than anything. She will run at the dog park for over an hour- even at 8 years old! We moved to a house without a fence and have been very busy (too busy to take her on regular walks) which has been hard on her. Since she hasn't been able to run much, she has slipped past us a few times out the door and ran away- usually chasing a rabbit or bird. As hard as it is, we think Sadie would benefit if we found a home for her with a fence and an active family who has time to walk her more. We aren't looking to get rid of her, just opening up an opportunity for a better life.
