Story
Hello, I hope all is well. Below is information on my current dog: Length of time you have had your animal- 6 years Approximate age- 6 years Sex- male Weight -60 pounds Best guess of breed- Labradoodle Spayed/Neutered - Neutered Any known medical conditions- None Reason for seeking surrender appointment (Please choose one of the following) o Behavior-; two of my dogs died within two weeks of each other. He is the only one left and he is sad and lonely. He has anxiety now that he is alone. I work most of the day, so he is having built up energy and now to add on the anxiety without the other dogs. I am not taking in any other animals so we feel it is better for him to go to a home that is better equipped to handled him and can give more time to him. It breaks our heart to do this but to watch him struggle is overwhelming.

These pups are in Alamo Heights, Texas too!

Story
Sweet Pea, that’s me! And let me tell you, my name rings true. I am the most affectionate, fun-loving dog out there! Once I bond with you, I'll give you all my love and loyalty. So, how did I wind up in this "rescue" situation? Well, I was spotted roaming outside a horse barn several months ago. A group of good Samaritans saw how skinny and scared I was and decided to give me a real life. So, off to foster care I went! I was pretty shy at first, but I’ve really blossomed since learning about the kindness of humans. My foster family describes me as spunky, sweet and exuberant--I love showing off my best zoomies in the yard, joining in on walks and simply being around my humans. I dream of a loving owner who can bring me on their hikes, hunting trips and fishing excursions! By the way, I am both potty trained and crate trained, so my new owner won't have to worry about teaching me manners. Just be sure to keep me away from any cats, as they can get me a little wound up! With that, it's important to know that I adore other dogs and people of all sizes. Open up your arms to me and I promise to be the best girl ever. Will you place an application and offer me a new leash on life?

Story
Take a bite of this Jelly Roll! We know he’s a little on the chunky side…but that just means he’ll give you more love! Now, at seven years old, we’re not sure what this boy’s past holds. What we do know is he’ll find a new forever home (and a DIET) now that he’s with us! All jokes aside, Jelly Roll is a super sweet pup with a great outlook on life. This cutie’s tail is ALWAYS wagging. He is quick to greet his foster family with his toothy smile every morning and keeps his kennel nice and tidy. He LOVES attention and will quickly melt for some pets, provided you are ready to give him some. Jelly Roll is also very well-behaved in terms of house manners. He doesn't chew your things and keeps his paws off your counters. He will make the perfect shadow for someone who in the market for an easy, mature dog. In his new home, he will require a little exercise to help him on his weight loss journey. The great news is–he loves walks and being a part of all the action. He also seems to like other dogs once properly introduced. So, it won’t be too hard to keep this pup happy! If you’d like to give a dog on the cusp of seniorhood a second chance at life, please apply to meet Jelly Roll. This wonderful guy would make a loving addition to any home.

Story
Mmm-mmm, don’t you want a taste of these adorable Texas rescues? Prickly Pear and Jalapeño are two of the best flavors of the Lone Star State. This pair was initially part of a litter of eight that was rescued with their mama, Miss Texas. After a few weeks, these adorable siblings are the last ones left from their pack!  Jalapeño is a loving little guy who is described as a "big baby" by his foster mom. He has a curious, social temperament and is always ready to tell you how he is feeling. We estimate he will grow anywhere from 30-50 pounds, so he will also be a great size one day! Jalapeño is your classic example of a "San Antonio Special," but our best guess is that he has some Labrador Retriever and Border Collie mixed in. Both of these breeds are known for their intelligence and fun-loving attitudes. If you live an active lifestyle or have children, this pup might be the perfect addition to your home. Jalapeño loves everyone and fares well around other dogs. At his young age, he will adjust well to most home environments as long as you can offer an adequate amount of time, training and patience. So, if you’re hankering for some southern cuisine, plate up this spicy pup! Apply to meet Jalapeño today!
