Story
Slater is a happy go lucky playful boy he is a young adult that is still fine-tuning his manners, but he is very smart and ready to learn. He loves people and gets along well with other dogsDisclaimer:The information in this profile is based on observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We do our best to describe each dog accurately; however, behavior and needs may change in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not free-roaming in homes. “Potty trained” indicates reliable crate training, not confirmed free-roam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered, and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. While we provide all known medical information, we cannot guarantee future health or the absence of underlying conditions. ##2617602##

Story
Pongo is a super sweet whippet/lab mix who is just about a year old. He is an incredibly adorable and loving pup with a beautiful disposition. Pongo is very friendly, well-mannered, and enjoys being around people. When he first meets you, he may jump up a little from puppy excitement — but the wonderful thing about Pongo is that he listens! As soon as you tell him “no” or ask him to settle, he immediately stops and responds well to guidance. Pongo is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Pongo would do great in a home that will continue his basic training, give him love, structure, and playtime, and include him as part of the family. He has so much love to give and will make a loyal, fun, and affectionate companion. Pongo is good with dogs, he is fine with cats and lives around both. He loves people and trusts them fully. He was rescued from a high kill shelter of Texas. Pongo is about 50 lb, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Texas but can be transported to most states, and even Canada for the right home. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, and friendly young dog to add joy to your life, Pongo might be your perfect match 🐾💙 Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Pongo's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Transport Fee to several states in the United States. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Maisie is a very shy, one-year-old Golden Yellow Lab with the sweetest, most gentle soul. She weighs about 45 pounds, is fully vetted and spayed, and is as loving as she is sensitive. She is also very quiet and mellow for a puppy. Maisie was rescued from a very high-kill shelter in Texas and is now safe in foster care in Indiana, where she is slowly learning what it means to feel secure and loved. She wants affection and enjoys being petted, but she needs a little time and patience to feel comfortable getting close to her people. Once she trusts you, her soft and loving personality truly shines. Because of her shy nature, Maisie needs a calm, patient home where she will never be rushed or pressured — just gently supported as she builds confidence at her own pace. Another friendly dog in the home is a must, as Maisie looks to other dogs for comfort, reassurance, and guidance. Having a canine companion helps her feel safe and gives her the confidence she needs to thrive. Maisie can travel to the right home anywhere in the U.S. or even to Canada. She is searching for a loving family who will see her beautiful heart, honor her gentle nature, and give her the time she needs to blossom. If you have a kind heart, a patient home, and a friendly dog waiting for a sister, Maisie may be the perfect addition to your family. 💗🐾 Maisie is currently being fostered in Indiana, where she flew from Texas, and can travel to anywhere in the North East or even Canada to the right home. Yards must be fully and adequately fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept invisible or underground fences. Maisie's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, GPS tracker, Harness, leash and a high quality nylon Martingale collar.
