Story
7 months old Tanner is a sweet and gentle pup, who is learning to trust people everyday, thanks to their wonderful foster parents. He is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Tanner and his brother Wilson found themselves in a high kill shelter where they were surrendered by their previous owner. They were extremely bonded and ran the risk of being separated, so the shelter staff requested us to rescue them so that they could stay together. Tanner needed Wilson and shut down completely when we tried to separate them. However, now, after being in a home full of other pets, the brothers are both able to stay separately, as their foster parents and foster siblings have boosted their confidence and allowed them to make choices on their own without dependence on the other. Tanner is very easy going, quiet, respectful pup. He is not rambunctious or destructive. He loves to please his humans and listen to directions Tanner is good with cats, dogs and kids. He currently lives with both dogs and cats and respects their spaces. Tanner and Wilson are good boys who love spending time with each other, as well as with their people. Tanner will prefer a second dog in his new home. He is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained and socialized. They would love to have a fully fenced yard to play with each other and get their exercise. Tanner is about 7 months old, 40 lb, neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. To meet these amazing pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com His adoption fee of $500 include all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and leash. Transport fee for out of town (Houston) adopters can range between $200 - $300. Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
This is Pepper - she is joyful- and the most lovable and being all these things- no one has come looking for her. Despite being in an unfamiliar place -she is so eager to meet strangers and give kisses. Her biggest joy in life is giving hugs- laying in the grass - and of course - chomping on treats. We are not certain of her previous living situation as she came in as a stray- but she is so content with a warm blanket and doing her business at the back of her kennel. We do think miss Pepper is still indeed young- and therefore has the heart of a puppy. When she gets excited she may wee upon being so happy to see you. Peppered is ultimately the sweetest - she has peppered licorice on her white paws! Hello there the adoption fee is $30.00 CHECK ONLY it is low as we do not spay/neuter our animals or vaccinate as we do not have a vet on site. Upon adoption you would sign a legal contract stating that within sixty days you will get them sterilized and vaccinated per state requirement. Sometimes due to age or complications the 30 day window can be extended however A VETS LETTER IS NEEDED TO EXPLAIN THE REASON WHY. Your contract is not fulfilled and your adoption of the pet cannot be successfully closed until proof of sterilization and vaccination is provided to us from the adopter. You may come to the shelter any day of the week between 8 am and 4:30 pm, just please give us a call beforehand to let us know you are coming at 281 291 5644. Thank you!

Story
Since getting to know Ms. Stormy over the year she has been with us it has become apparent with her goofy personality and sheer tenacity to love others as well as other dogs-we've decided to give her a more playful name that matches her spirit - Joni :). She is doing MUCH better on a leash- and is not as apt to pull anymore. She has beautiful brown eyes that will look deep into your soul for any kind of smile. Ms. Stormy is someone that will love without apprehension- that wants every stranger to be her friend. Joni is close to our hearts because no matter what - she always has a smile! We think in her past she was probably a daddy's girl :). She's very snuggly when it comes to males. She wants so much to be loved- and will always love you more first. We introduced to an office setting and Ms. Stormy did not once use the potty inside. Ms. Stormy always uses the bathroom on walks and when she is outside :). Her zeal to meet strangers always overcomes her bashfulness- We are not certain if Ms. Joni has lived in a house before - but we are certain that she is a people pleaser- and wants to impress everyone around her with her manners. Story
This us Skog pronounced SKOOG lol! It is the Swedish word for forest as every time he sees a trail or patch of woods. He's grown to be such an handsome young man. He is a people pleaser and has one intriguing fear. The monster named port o potty! Skoog has been the longest resident here at the shelter- and not because he is a bad doggie. His is a big dog- but not too big. He gets along well with other dogs. In fact- since the brand new play yard has been installed- his new best bud has been Stelios! Stelios loves to hang behind Skoog and learn the ropes of exploring! Skoog adores people, meeting families and sitting for treats. Skoog is housetrained in the sense he waits for play time outside to use the bathroom. We are not certain of his past as he found as a stray- but he is certainly a patient pup- and his spirit has NOT DIED NOR TURNED UGLY. Do you think you or someone you know might be able to love him? His heart is as warm as his buttercream coat in the sun! NOTE: PLEASE READ Evidently we may have had Skoog's breed wrong! Shelter staff feel his face is too narrow and body too sleek and tail too shepherdy to be a pit! Come take a look and see for yourself what this handsome doggy is made of! Hello there the adoption fee is $30.00 CHECK ONLY it is low as we do not spay/neuter our animals or vaccinate as we do not have a vet on site.
