Story
Slater is a happy go lucky playful boy he is a young adult that is still fine-tuning his manners, but he is very smart and ready to learn. He loves people and gets along well with other dogsDisclaimer:The information in this profile is based on observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We do our best to describe each dog accurately; however, behavior and needs may change in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not free-roaming in homes. “Potty trained” indicates reliable crate training, not confirmed free-roam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered, and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. While we provide all known medical information, we cannot guarantee future health or the absence of underlying conditions. ##2617602##

Story
Hey there, I'm Orion! I'm a puppy with a zest for life. I'm playful, energetic, and a bit of a goofball. But don't let that fool you - I'm also incredibly smart and brave. I even battled Parvo and came out a victor! My journey to the shelter and into a foster home was quite an adventure. I was living a normal puppy life when I was suddenly imbued with superpowers. I could hear whispers from miles away, run faster than a speeding car, and leap over tall fences in a single bound! But, like all superheroes, I had to face my nemesis - Parvo. It was a tough battle, but with my indomitable spirit, I triumphed. After my victory, I found myself here, waiting for my next adventure. If you're looking for a companion who's full of energy, has a knack for fun, and a heart full of bravery, then I'm your guy! Let's start our adventure together! If you are interested in him, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!March 7, 2026, 7:09 pm

Meet LB (aka Libby) – Your New Best Friend! 🐾 Looking for a dog that checks all the boxes? Libby is your girl! 💖 She’s not only dog-friendly, but also a total pro on a leash, making those daily walks a breeze. 🐕 We affectionately call her LB, and while she’s great with other dogs, she’s not a fan of puppies invading her space – can’t blame her!
