*Arwen has started the adoption process!**Arwen is scheduled for her spay surgery on May 5th. She can`t go home until the 6th, but is still available for visits!*Introducing the lovely Arwen - a new shelter arrival and immediate staff and volunteer favourite! This young lady is a treat to have, and is sure to make a fantastic addition to almost any home! Arwen lives up to her breed standard with her super friendly demeanor, intelligent brain and fun, playful energy. Arwen is still very much a puppy at heart and would love a home that can offer her daily exercise, enriching activities, and positive training opportunities to help her continue learning and growing. Keeping both her body and brain busy will ensure that she is all about cuddles and peaceful slumber at the end of her days. She is highly food motivated, already knows several basic commands, and was completely house trained in her previous home! Arwen enjoys meeting other dogs and is generally friendly, though she can be a bit nervous around bigger, louder pups. She has not lived with cats, so slow introductions are recommended. Because she is still learning about her size and personal space, older, dog-savvy children would be the best match. She does love children, but has not quite realized her strength around the little ones! There are so many good things to say about Arwen, and if you haven`t already fallen in love, you`ll be head over heels when you meet her! We know this sweetie won`t last long, so what are you waiting for?Arwen is:- good with kids, 10+ recommended- unknown with cats, slow intros required- open to dogs pending successful intro

Story
Hello, I’m Sebastian 🐾 A 3-year-old Labrador–Doberman mix, about 27 kilos of love, elegance, and joy. I’ve got the long, lean body of a Doberman and the warm, food-loving heart of a Labrador — truly the best of both worlds. My journey hasn’t always been easy. I spent too long in a city shelter and eventually found myself on the euthanasia list. Just in time, Dream Tails stepped in and gave me a second chance, bringing me to their training center — and now I’m ready for the next chapter of my life. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and communicate beautifully with them, showing my feelings clearly and setting boundaries in a calm, respectful way. I walk nicely on leash and don’t pull, making our walks something we can both enjoy. I’m often told I’m very handsome — but what truly sets me apart is my heart. I’m overflowing with love, and every bit of attention makes my heart feel like it might burst. I can’t wait to experience the comfort of a warm home and to finally feel safe with my forever family. Because I haven’t lived in a home before, I might show a little puppy mischief at first as I adjust. With patience, guidance, and understanding, I’ll settle in and thrive — I promise my love will make it all worth it. All I’m dreaming of is a family who will give me time, kindness, and cuddles… especially cozy moments on the sofa with my mommy and daddy. 🫶🏻 Could you be my forever family?

Story
This handsome 4-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix is a smart, driven boy who thrives in a calm, structured environment with an experienced dog owner who understands shepherd-type behaviours. He knows several verbal cues including sit, down, shake a paw, and speak, and he takes treats gently, making him a great partner for continued training and enrichment. Best suited to an adult-only home, he can be aloof and sensitive with handling, so children are not recommended. He will benefit from a home committed to daily leash walks, a securely fenced backyard, and ongoing engagement—off-leash parks are not appropriate at this time as he continues to build recall and will need to bond with his new adopters. A dedicated adopter who can follow a structured food program (including interactive feeders, hand-feeding, and trade-ups) and commit to a required private behaviour training class will help this dog reach his full potential. In the right home, he will be a loyal, focused companion who truly shines with consistency and guidance.Size: Medium 25kg/55lbsChildren: Adult only home pleaseCats: Potential for a no cats or small animals home - not tested - recommend slow introductionsDogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyle

Story
Hi… I’m Dami 🐾 I’m a 2-year-old male, a small Labrador mix (about 10 kg). People say I’m a little guy with a really big story. There was a time when I almost didn’t make it. I was rescued just before it was too late… but even after that, I was very weak, and my body wasn’t doing well. When I went to the hospital, they found something I was born with—my organs were stuck near my chest, and I needed a big surgery. It was really hard… but I held on. And somehow, I made it through. Now, I’m healthy. Fully recovered. And I feel like I’ve been given a whole new life. These days, I’m full of energy and love. I’m playful, curious, and I’ll come up to you with bright eyes like, “Hey… want to play?” 🤭 I love people—so, so much. If you let me, I’ll stay close, ask for cuddles, and show you all my little charms. I get along well with other dogs too, so I’m happy making friends. I prefer going potty outside, so if you take me on regular walks and guide me gently, I’ll learn your routine quickly. If I do well, your praise makes my tail wag like crazy. And if I make a mistake… I hope you’ll teach me kindly. I really want to understand. Home life is still new to me, so I might be a little unsure at first. But I promise—if you give me patience and love, I’ll find my way fast. I’m not just a rescue dog. I’m a dog who was given life again. And now… all I want is a place where I can finally rest, a person I can love for the rest of my life. I’ve already been through so much—but from here on, I hope my story is full of warm days, soft moments, and a forever family. …Could that be you? 💛

Story
4 year old Lola is a survivor. She was pregnant and living on the side of a river, and surviving from scraps from a stranger. Eventually a kind stranger managed to get her and her puppies into shelter. Lola is a beautiful Mexican special mix – her pups look like small black labs – she may be a shepherd x terrier x lab mix. She’s her own mix of very special girl. Lola is lower energy, but spins in excitement if you might be so kind to toss her a ball, or when her dinner is ready. Check her out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DR-vk8YksCo/ Lola is careful with strangers at first but also VERY affectionate. Lola isn’t keen to go far – she prefers the safety of the sanctuary – perhaps worried she may be dumped again. She is looking for a quiet loving home. She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. If you think you might be a fit, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.
