Story
Oh hey there! My name is Nate, or as my closest friends like to call me, Nate Dogg or Nathan :) I'm a BIG boy with beautiful amber eyes that seem to captivate anyone who has the pleasure of being in my inner circle. Although I'm young, handsome, and smart as a whip, I'm happiest when snuggling up on a big ol' couch and getting pets from my human companions. When I'm not resting from all the hard work of eating snacks, walking in the forest, and getting belly rubs, I like to show off my zoomies in the yard carrying around my favourite stuffy. The home I'm looking for is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, as city-life is not really my thing. Also, I'd like to be your one and only animal so I can be fully (and rightfully) spoiled. I have made some doggy friends in shelter, but I'm quite picky on those I associate with. Walking past other dogs is my weakness, so I need a strong and experienced paw-rent who can help me navigate these interactions and teach me that barking and lunging at others is not the best way to greet other dogs. I learn best through positive reinforcement training and would love to continue this training into my new home! I can't wait! Some other great things about me are that I take treats SUPER gently, I know 'sit' and 'shake a paw' no problem, and puzzle toys make me extra excited. I'm a smart boy so I need to have my brain stimulated too!Long and short, if you are looking for a single animal companion to keep you warm at night, I am the guy for you! I am ready and more than willing to be your sidekick on the couch and to curl up beside you. Bonus points if you have a fireplace too...The first step to take me home and meet me is to fill out the application below!https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-cowichan/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 42.7 Age: 3yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
Meet Hazel! This brown eyed beauty is looking for a home that can show her what life is all about. Hazel had an isolated start to life and is learning all about walking on leash and having love and attention from people. Hazel is quick to give kisses to any new people she meets and seems to be excited to see other dogs, but seems to prefer dogs closer to her size. Hazel cannot go into a home with small dogs. Hazel still has big puppy energy and likes to display her excitement through mouthing and jumping up! Hazel can be overly excited by long walks and taking in all the new things that the world has to offer. She will need an adopter that is willing to work with an Animal Kind trainer on improving this reaction. We have already seen so much improvement on this behavior in shelter and can only imagine how much she will thrive when in a loving home!Hazel seems to be house trained and is a smart girl and a quick learner. She will be eager to please anyone that can offer her treats and love in return. Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Hazel's person? Apply today!Friendly tip: If you're looking for a surefire way to make your application to stand out, consider telling us a little bit about yourself in the "anything else you'd like us to know?" section!
