Story
Meet Saylor!Saylor is training to be in the 2024 summer Olympics for fetch and we believe she can do it! Nothing will get in between her and her tennis ball - she will gladly swim through any body of water to retrieve it. All jokes aside, chasing a ball is one of her favourite things to do, but once she tires out, she is calm and collected, and she loves to lay in the grass and bask in the sun. Saylor is currently in foster and is helping out at a kids summer camp! She is an excellent camp counsellor but is ready to find her forever family. Her foster reports that she is great with kids of all ages, and has interacted with kids as young as 3 without issue. Saylor loves to be with her people and makes a wonderful office dog. She doesn't mind being left at home either, but may need a bit of time to adjust to a new space before feeling totally comfortable being left alone in it. (You might want to expect some barking during this adjustment period).Saylor doesn't seem to bark at the door when a new person knocks or comes in, but she can be wary of men or strangers in hats, and likes a slower introduction. Saylor would prefer chest rubs before straight over the head pats when you first meet her. She is a very smart cookie and is eager to give you a paw or a bark when she has to go outside to do her business or is ready for dinner. Saylor has done well meeting medium and large size dogs, but has a high prey drive, and we would not recommend she cohabitates with any small size dogs or cats. (She is a big lizard chaser!)Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Saylor's person? Story
Marley is a big, lovable girl who came into our care after her previous owner could no longer care for her. Though she may be reserved at first, Marley warms up quickly and is incredibly sweet with her human friends. She loves to jump up and give lots of kisses and enjoys quiet time cuddling next to you once she's gotten her wiggles out.Marley thrives on being around her people and prefers to eat in their company. She can be vocal when left alone, so she'd do best in a home where she has company most of the time. Marley enjoys walks and loves sniffing and rolling around the yard.Due to her sensitivity with touch on her hind end and possible early stages of arthritis, Marley's new home should be prepared to help her live comfortably with these needs. She's also on a special diet to help her lose weight.Marley loves to have all the attention to herself and would do best as the only dog in the home. Because of her size and tendency to jump, she'd be best suited for a home without small children. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who loves to be around her people, Marley might be the perfect match for you!Do you think you could be Marley's person? Here are some ways to find out: 1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs. Story
# 🐾 Hello, I'm Harp! 🐾 안녕하세요! That's how I say hello in my native Korean. I'm Harp, a 6-year-old Lab Retriever-Jindo mix with a fluffy white coat that's perfect for snuggles. I'm a bit of a big girl, weighing 23.5 kg, but that just means there's more of me to love. ## My Journey 🏡 My adventure began one autumn day in 2018 when I found myself at an elementary school. The police were called, and I ended up in a shelter, but thankfully, my current rescuer brought me to safety. Now, I'm dreaming of a forever home where I can share all the love in my big heart. ## A Glimpse Into My Heart 💖 I'm all about affection and don't mind showing my belly to anyone who's kind enough to give me a pat. I adore children and am always gentle, especially when snacks are involved. ## My Playful Side 🎾 I'm a friendly gal and like to greet everyone, even dogs I've never met before. I do get a bit overwhelmed by high-energy pups, and I need a careful introduction to new doggy friends, especially if toys are around. ## My Leisure Time 🌳 I love a good romp outdoors, but I'm also quite content to rest quietly after some fun. I'm learning not to pull on the leash and usually follow along nicely. ## My Manners and Quirks 🍽️ I'm not one to guard my food around people, but I do tell other dogs to keep their distance when I'm eating. I'm calm in a kennel and have no trouble hopping into a car for a ride. ## A Little Request 🙏 I might get a bit growly if another dog barks or runs around me too much, but I've never bitten anyone. I'm working on not being possessive over my toys and food, and I could use some help with that. ## Looking for My Human 🏠 Are you the one who will give me the gentle care and patience I need? In return, I promise to be your loyal companion, your playful partner, and a source of endless affection. For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jw66dM68ClYUbI05X1rzHzi

Story
I'm Becky, a 5-year-old female Labrador Retriever looking for my forever home. I've had a bit of a rough start, being abandoned near a rural chicken coop, but thanks to some kind souls, I've been rescued. I'm a social butterfly with a heart as big as my paws. It doesn't take me long to warm up to new people—I'll be nudging you for pets and belly rubs in no time. I get along great with other dogs, always up for a playdate and ready to make new friends. However, I do have a bit of a protective soul, so if another dog challenges me, I might stand my ground. Just something to keep in mind. I'm well-behaved on walks, although I might need a gentle reminder not to pull too hard on the leash. When it comes to strangers, I'll give a little bark to let you know someone's approaching, but I'm calm and collected in my kennel. I'm an outdoor enthusiast when it comes to bathroom breaks—I prefer the great outdoors for that. And did I mention how smart I am? I've mastered basic commands like sit, paw, and stay. I might not guard my food, but if another dog tries to sneak a nibble, I'll definitely let out a warning growl. So, what do you say? Are you ready for a lifetime of tail wags, paw prints, and unconditional love? If you think we could be the perfect match, come meet me! I can't wait to bring joy and companionship to your home. At 19 kg, I'm the perfect size for all kinds of adventures and cuddles. ## My Rescue Story 🏠 My life began with a bit of a rough start.
