Story
We got Murphy from a breeder in Jacksonville back in January 2022. He was born November 16, 2021. He is a handsome purebred American yellow lab. He LOVES all things to do with play and fetch. He still has lots of puppy energy and deserves an owner that has a yard and the time to play with him/walk him. He has loved being around our 9 month old son ever since he was a newborn and he seems to be very good with kids. He has always been in a household with another dog so he gets along with other dogs well! Murphy makes the perfect family dog. He enjoys being outside, going on walks and running around in big open areas. He is extremely loyal and prefers to be by your side. He knows the basic commands of sit, stay, and lay down.

Story
Noah About a week ago, one of our volunteers found out about a dog who had been living on the side of I-75 for months, all alone We spoke to animal control and found out that he used to live on the on ramp and then crossed over to a field next to a plaza. He was being fed, but no one could catch him and no one was looking for him With sheer luck and determination, he was caught this past Monday by a woman who had been visiting and feeding him and the help of two other people! He was terrified in the moment, but immediately wiggled up to them once in the car The last few months have been rough for him - his ribs are showing, his skin is flaky, he has scars, fleas, and had ticks embedded in his armpits. He has never been on a leash, never ridden in a car and never seen a TV. But, he's been practicing leash walking all week and learning so fast! (Video in comments) Amazingly, he is pretty comfortable in a house, has not had a single accident and doesn't mind being in a crate. He's a very easy houseguest Noah is looking for a loving home who can change it all for him. Someone to love him, help him with leash walking, put some weight on him and let him play with your dog Noah is about 1-1.5 years old, a skinny 50lbs, most likely a Labrador Retriever & Hound mix and was just neutered. He loves all dogs and is very submissive. His forever home needs a secure 6ft fenced yard, no kids and a playful dog to be his best friend. Story
Texxy Tex! Everyone remember the 5 year old sad, broken spirited yellow Labrador boy that we shared last week? Would you even believe THIS is the same dog?! We sure can't! Tex began to flourish the minute he landed with his foster family. He has shown us just how happy, sweet, loving and gentle he can be when he is shown love! This boy really is the ultimate package and would be happy in almost any situation. He's a true Mellow Yellow Fellow. He's happy with or without dogs around. He enjoys very short walks or short periods of running in the yard and would be just fine living in an apartment. He is not phased by his foster family's farm animals or cats. He is still a little nervous, so a home on the quieter side would be preferred over a party house. When asked what Tex's perfect family looked like, the answer was "almost any . He is just such a good boy! His skin, fur, ears and gut are still in pretty sad shape but he is getting better every day. He has a few more doctor's appointments, and he will be neutered at the end of the month. Tex will be ready to go home June 1st, but he could be adopted earlier if the adopter is in the greater Sarasota area!! Tex is microchipped, Heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, and will be neutered this month. He is fostered in Parrish, Florida and his adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in adding this perfect boy to your family, please complete an adoption application at the link below or email us at info@love4pawsfl.org if you have completed an application previously! https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process

Story
Hello! I’m Sasha, a 5-year-old, 65-pound Lab mix. I’m an affectionate and active girl who is looking for a family that will open up their home and hearts to me. I'm a little shy when I first meet you, but once I get to know you, I'm your best buddy. I’m very social and love playing, swimming and cuddling. I would love to be the only pup in the family so that I get all of your attention. I have been a part of my current family for almost five years and I know it’s with great sadness that they have to leave me behind as they are moving overseas. I am now waiting to start a new chapter of my life in a home full of love. If you’re interested in meeting me, please go to our website, safepawsrescue.com, and complete the Adoption Application. Our application process includes a home visit and veterinarian and/or personal check. Safe Paws Rescue is a small rescue in St. Petersburg, FL so we accept inquiries from residents in Pinellas County only, please.
