Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.companionsanimalcenter.org ADOPT to view our adoption process. My name is Sunshine and I'm here to brighten up all your gloomy days! I arrived at CAC due to my very beloved owner having to go into assisted living. I'm a sweet girl that has begun to calm down and mature. My best buddies here have found that I react negatively to small animals so it is required I go to a home with no small dogs or cats. However, dogs around my size don't seem to be a problem as long as they know how to be polite to a lady. I'll need to meet them to make sure we all get along. I've been keeping my kennel clean here but will need to be taught the run down in a new home. While I can come across as a shy girl, I've still got plenty of love to give to the right people! If you'd like to add a cute blonde to your life please just ensure you have the time, space, and resources to take care of me for my entire lifetime.

Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.companionsanimalcenter.org ADOPT to view our adoption process.Hello! My name is Vera and I'm new here at CAC. I flew all the way here from LA to get a chance to meet all of you and have a shot at finding my forever family! My new friends have taken me on a few spins around the cats and discovered that I'm way more interested in smelling all the smells than I am kitties. They also told me I was a super good girl because even when some kitties got spicy with me, I was a nice girl that stuck right by their side and gave the cat space! It would be best if I didn't go to a home with small kids as I still have a lot of learning and can be a little to much for the little ones. I do get timid a bit easily and will become frightened if a dog barks or growls at me! A polite and quiet dog could be a great brother or sister. Since I love to follow my nose it is required that I go to a family that will ensure I stay safely on the property as if I catch the smell of something cool I might try to wander. I do have a special skill of digging. Oh boy is that fun! Overall though, I'm a very sweet girl that appreciates gentle pets and kind voices. I would love to go on hikes and other adventures as well as romp around and play! Before making the commitment to add me to your family, please ensure you have the proper time, space, and resources to care for me for my entire life.

Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.companionsanimalcenter.org ADOPT to view our adoption process. My name is Calamity Jane and I recently came to CAC through local animal control. I am an active gal with lots of love! I enjoy being around people the most, but I don't seem to mind the company of another dog. It is unknown how I would do around young children or cats. I would enjoy having a fenced yard so I can run and play during the day! I keep my kennel very clean here at CAC. I love to go on my walks and give kisses to my friends. I came in through my local animal control with my partner in crime Francis. My history is a mystery but not to worry I am the best girl there is! My friends here at CAC think I will do well with another dog but, we will still have to set up an meet and greet. I'm not sure how I would feel about cats but I can be tested to see how I do. I keep my kennel here at CAC very clean! I'm such a smart girl who would love to learn from you especially if you have treats! I would love to be your next adventure buddy! Due to how active I am it is required that I go to a home with a fully fenced yard. I can't wait to find my furever family! Please be sure you have the right amount of time, space and resources to care for me for the rest of my life.

Story
Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.companionsanimalcenter.org ADOPT to view our adoption process.Hi everyone! Oh goodness, I don't even know who to greet first! My name is Nala and I'm just so in love with everyone! I recently arrived at CAC due to a change in my previous owner's living situation. However, he reported that I'm an amazing girl. I may be 7 but I've got a lot of tricks to show you that I'm more than just an adorable face. These include: sit, stay, down, come, leave it, drop, heel, quiet, and high five. I still have tons of energy and enjoy walks, playing with my tennis ball, and going for swims! However, once the activities are done for the day I'll be thrilled if you snuggle up beside me for some cuddles. As I'm such a people kinda girl, I don't much care for being left alone and sometimes it'll make me bark and cry because I miss my people. However, I have no history of causing any mischief in the home when left home alone and my previous owner told my new friends here that I'm super good at going potty outside. I also get along with other dogs, cats, fowl, and livestock! I would really love a nice fenced yard to play with and some kids to make my heart feel young and full of joy. If you think you could be the special people that are meant to be my new family then please make sure you have the time, space, and resources to care for me for my entire life.

Skippy: She is almost 4. She's Spaded. Completely Potty Trained. All the initial shots were given, the only ones we do yearly is the rabies shot. (I believe she is almost due, I usually get an email telling me it's time to schedule it and I believe that is coming up) She is either a lab mix or a dwarf lab. She doesn't like to be prodded at (by kids and really big dogs, she will get nippy) but she loves attention and being treated like a queen. She loves food/treats/snacks. Gets along great with cats, chickens and ducks. She has been a wonderful part of our family for nearly 4 years and we are so sad to be rehoming her. Her and our other dog don't seem to get along anymore and it's been extremely hard on her, she doesn't want to come out if the other dog is close and it's just too stressful for her to keep on like this. She is a queen. I'm pretty sure if she had her way she would be a chubby lap dog that watches soap operas all day. If you are interested in her please reach out.

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
We have had Mavis since she was a puppy. She will be seven years old this fall. She is a very affectionate dog and loves being around people. She likes to lounge around and snuggle with her family. Mavis needs a home were she can be the center of attention. My husband and I both work full time and have two kids (7 & 12) with a busy schedule. When Mavis is home alone, she get anxious. She is crate trained, but has moments when she decides she doesn’t want to be contained. This then results in her getting into things. We feel she would be a better fit in a home where she can have constant human attention and companionship throughout the day. Mavis does have a history of seizures which are maintained with medication. She also takes medication for her anxiety. If she were given the opportunity to be in a home with someone who can offer her daily walks and continual attention through the day she would live a much fuller life. We lover and hope for her to have a life that we cannot provide.

Story
The National Parks litter came to Murci's Mission from a family overrun with unaltered animals and going through the process of getting everyone spayed and neutered. They were born on 03/22/2023 and have been DNA tested through Embark which showed us they are a mix of Labrador Retriever, American Pit Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier and more. See profile link for full details. The test also showed no testable genetic health concerns for the puppy swabbed, so it's highly unlikely that anyone else in the litter would have much variance in breed or health.  Mama is roughly 30lbs and dad is unknown, and with the Embark estimated adult weight of 24lbs, we anticipate these will be smallish pups!  https://my.embarkvet.com/dog/teton26?utm_campaign=cns_ref_dog_pub_profile&utm_medium=other&utm_source=embark The National Parks are mild mannered and making good progress on potty training and crate training. They will make great additions to any family that can commit to continuing to train and socialize them. They are currently accustomed to dogs, cats and kids.  Each of the National Parks comes spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Their adoption fee is $300 and includes medical records, a food sample, a leash, collar and ID tag.  The puppies will be ready to go home on or after June 21st when they are scheduled for spay neuter, and we do require all of our dogs attend some sort of training course whether in person, private or group class, or online. If you can wait until mid June to bring your pup home, and are willing to take your new baby pup to a training course, please begin the process by sending in an application at www.murcismission.org.  Thank you for checking out the National Parks!  ##1715030##

Adoptions by appointment only. Visit www.companionsanimalcenter.org ADOPT to view our adoption process.Hi my name is Bella and I recently came to CAC through a transport up from LA. The first little bit I was in Idaho I was at a foster's house. My foster mom noticed that i'm pushy with other dogs so I should be the only dog in the home. She also noticed that I really do not like to be picked up. It would be best if I went to a home with no kids due to how nervous I can be when I first meet new people. Once I warm up to you I let my goofy side show. I keep my kennel here at CAC clean but, in a home I may need some more guidance on going potty outside. I am a very sweet girl who has been through a lot and is ready to find my furever family. Please be sure that you have the right amount of time, space and resources to care for me for the rest of my life.
