Story
STEVEN  This brave canine hasn’t had it easy in life, running loose and fending for himself for about a month before he was finally rescued. Initially, he was terrified of humans, which is understandable. When we brought him home, our sweet boy immediately revealed his true nature, showing us just how special he truly is. Despite the hardships he faced, he has become the epitome of love and affection.  He adores snuggles! There is nothing he loves more than curling up in your lap for some quality cuddle time. Prepare for your heart to melt as his big, soulful eyes gaze up at you with pure adoration! To keep this clever canine entertained, all you need is a few toys and some bones. He's always up for a game of fetch or a chew session, and his goofy energy will give you regular laughs.Plus, his amazing compatibility with other dogs means he would be an excellent addition to a multi-pet household, bringing harmony and wagging tails all around. Steven is perfect in every way, from his adorable appearance to his heart of gold & will come neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He is approximately 10 months old and weighs roughly 32 pounds. He is good with kids and cats.  ##1858448##

Story
We love Charlie and this is a hard decision. We have had him since he was a young puppy. He is your basic silver lab, sweet natured, loves food, goofy and a little anxious but at the end of the day, he is your buddy/shadow who just wants to be loved. We welcomed our first child almost three years ago and Charlie has not adapted to being second fiddle very well. Now that our child is a toddler who wants to test boundaries, Charlie is having an even harder time with all the extra and not so welcome attention. However, Charlie loves older children who know how to be gentle and how to play with him. He gets along with other dogs once the initial meeting jitters are over. Charlie loves to play ball, swim and hike, all the things that outdoor dogs like to do, he is a great road tripper too! We are wanting to add baby 2 and know that Charlie needs to be happy too. We are happy to answer any questions about Charlie that you have.

Story
He is 3 and a half years old he is very very smart and has a relaxed temperament. When my daughter is here he literally won't let her out of his sight and won't sleep anywhere but her room. He has never had a bitting incident and I have only heard him bark if someone comes through the front door unannounced. He has grown up with cats his whole life and gets along well with them. He is legitimately a perfect dog and I wouldn't be putting him up for adoption unless I had to. I work to much and can't find a home that will take both of us. To the best of my knowledge he is up to date on shots I however I don't have proof of that or proof of his breed.

Story
Whitey was born July 5, 2020. I got her when she was about 6 weeks old from MT. She is a smart, loving dog yet still very hyper and too demanding for me at this time. All is wants is loving interaction with people; to run in a large yard and play fetch; be in a house where she can freely roam. Whitey needs little work on her manners but really is well behaved and listens well. I am leaving the area and need to find a good home for her, with lots of love and attention. She does well with medium dogs or bigger, but the tiny dogs seem to get to aggressive around her and she doesn't know how to act. She rides well in vehicles and loves to run in wide empty places. She behaves well with leash on but prefers to walk beside you without one on. Like I said she listens well and just wants to please. Whitey is in Spokane and not Rathdrum as profile says fyi

Story
Hi, I'm Oakley! I have so much love to share and loads of energy to match. My happy place is in the great outdoors where I can run and play with my favorite people and my favorite toys. I'm a loyal guy! I promise that once I get to know you, I'll love you unconditionally. I can get overwhelmed when meeting new people, especially men in hats. I learn best from strong corrections and would thrive with an owner who is eager to further my training so I can be my best self. I can't wait to find my forever home. If it could be with you, come meet me!

Story
A puppy with joie de vivre! Meet Thistle! Thistle (an orphan now part of our Crayola litter) is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information in the “Adoption from Path of Hope Rescue” section below). Born on or about May 15, 2024, Thistle is a black, mixed breed puppy with a short coat, floppy ears, the cutest little white toes, and soulful eyes.  A rescue from a Texas shelter, this delightful puppy is brimming with joie de vivre (an exuberant enjoyment of life). We expect Thistle to be a medium size adult dog in the 40-60 lb. range. Sweet, friendly, and affectionate, Thistle loves to snuggle up with you at the end of a busy day and showering you with kisses. Thistle is a typical, joyful, active, clumsy puppy who loves playing with sticks much bigger than he is. He will contentedly drag his sticks around the yard in a game only he understands. Thistle is a happy-go-lucky puppy with a social personality who loves everyone he meets and wants nothing more than to play and snuggle with you. In the clumsy puppy stage, Thistle tends to barrel his way through life, all long legs and energy. He overflows with optimism about life and is convinced that all it takes is one more play bow to get his foster’s older dog to join him in his shenanigans (she may have told him off 50 times, but he knows that 51st try will win her over!). Now that he has gotten over his fear of it, Thistle will chase the foster’s cat, but he is learning to temper his exuberance around it.   Thistle is working on his skills. He spends several hours at a time in his crate, sleeping through the night, and is progressing through his potty training, giving cues when he needs to go outside. Thistle has started leash and obedience training, and he knows “sit” already. Thistle is very food motivated and a good candidate to learn tricks or agility. Thistle’s ideal home? Thistle would thrive in an active home where he would get daily walks and adventures suited to his energy level. While he could be an only dog, another dog who would romp and play with him would make him deliriously happy. Thistle would love people to cherish, to snuggle with, and who will ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Want to meet Thistle? Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.   ##2146109##
