After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
My adoption fee was generously sponsored! Bailey is like sunshine; she lights up every room she walks in to. She is a sweet, mellow, and social girl. And don’t let the grey hair fool you, she is still young and spritely, she’s just a lady who is aging gracefully. She likes to say hi to everyone in the room, but she is very respectful and never jumps or barks. Bailey is also crate trained and enjoys having her own space; She will often go in her crate all on her own when wanting to take a nap. She enjoys going for her daily walks around the neighborhood and she is phenomenal on leash! Never pulls or barks at other people or animals; though she does give squirrels a mean glare, so they know who’s boss. She likes to spend the rest of the day chewing on her bone, napping, eating treats, and she especially loves cuddling with you; she loves to rest her head on your chest while she naps. She needs to be the only dog in the home, but she has meet cats and seems to do well with them. Bailey is the perfect dog for anybody looking for a well behaved new best friend. Story
Meet Yakko, one of three adorable siblings who are ready to find their forever families! Estimated to be born June 4, 2026, Yakko is the smallest of the trio at about 6 pounds, but he definitely makes up for his size with his big personality! This little guy is small but mighty and has no problem telling his siblings off, wrestling with them, or trying to keep all the food for himself. When Yakko wants something from his foster mama, he's also not afraid to sass her until he gets his point across. He's definitely living up to his Animaniacs name! Yakko is a typical puppy who is full of love and curiosity. He will need help with potty and crate training, as well as learning his basic obedience skills. His new family will need to be dedicated to helping him learn and grow so he can become the good boy he's meant to be. Because Yakko has quite the set of pipes when he gets going, a home without shared walls would probably be best for this little YAK-er. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Felix, a 10-year-old Labrador Retriever weighing approximately 85 pounds. This handsome gentleman has a calm, gentle nature and a quiet confidence that makes him an easy dog to love. While he may seem a little more serious than his buddy Oscar, don't be fooled. Felix has a beautiful smile of his own, especially once he's done concentrating on the treats! Felix has already mastered the art of being a loyal, loving companion. He's happiest spending time with his people, enjoying peaceful walks, and simply being part of the family. His easy-going, well-mannered personality would make him a wonderful addition to just about any home. Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and Felix is ready to spend his golden years surrounded by kindness, comfort, and companionship. All he needs is a cozy bed, a loving family, and a place to call home. Felix's adoption fee is $200. While Felix is available to be adopted on his own, he arrived at Wish Bone with his lifelong companion, Oscar. If you're able to welcome both sweet seniors into your family, their combined adoption fee is just $300. There is a $15 rabies transfer fee per dog for McLean County Residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
