Story
She is a 2ish year old golden doodle. She was spayed and is loving life in a home not a barn. She was used as a breeder in her past life. She will require a structural fence in her forever home since she is a flight risk and many things scare her. She is adapting very well and doing good on housebreaking. 💕Apply to adopt at teambarc.comVisit www.teambarc.com for more information and our online application. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter!

Story
Meet Cindy- Before you put in an application please read the entire description.  Hello, I'm Cindy, a Golden Retriever with a heart full of love. I need to go to a home with another friendly dog like I am.  I need a dog to show me the ropes. I was shut down when I first arrived at the rescue. Now I'm a playful soul, always eager to do zoomies in the yard.  My nature is gentle and friendly, and I adore making new friends. I'm a bit scared sometimes, but I'm learning to trust again. My past? It's a story of a puppy mill, not a happy place. But I'm not dwelling on it. I'm looking forward to a future filled with cuddles, walks, and companionship. You will need a bit of patience at first, because I am not socialized since I lived in a kennel my whole life. I do come around to love my family very quickly however. Sometimes with fast movements and strange places I am skittish.  I'm not just a pet, I'm a friend for life. I am a smaller retriever at 45 lbs and I just turned 3 years old. I can be very calm and watch TV with you laying by your feet. I don't chew or get into things, so I don't need a crate and since I was crated all the time at the breeder, I would HATE to be in one again. I am learning to walk on a leash. Sometimes I am brave and do really well, sometimes I prefer to lay down and not walk. I use a pet door right now to go outside and potty in the yard. So I will need someone to be patient with me while I learn your home, and you and your dog can teach me what door to go to.    I do need a few things though. A physical fence, for instance, to keep me safe during my outdoor adventures. I also need someone who's home during the day, as I crave companionship.  I love to frolic and run, and I can be shy and skittish, so a home with children over 7 years old would be perfect for me. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. I do well riding in a car, I will lay on the seat and I am well behaved. The rescue wants me to stay within a 2 hr distance from Grovertown, Indiana. So if you live far away do not apply. So go to www.indianasaveadog.com and put in an application to adopt me. After your application is approved, you can put down a $50 deposit to hold me, and I am yours. I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. ##2071987##

Story
HONEY is a F1B Goldendoodle that was rescued from a puppy mill. She is a sactuary dog that is available under our Foster to Adopt program. She is 5 years old. She had an injured leg which required ACL surgery which we had done in 2019. She was terrified of people when she first came.. She was rescued in 2019 when she was one year old. Honey has come around. Her fear is getting better with people. Once she bonds with someone she is the sweetest most loveable dog to them. Like others in our sanctuary she will never be a social butterfly. Honey gets groomed every 2 months and rides in the car well, She will walk on a leash to the groomers building. This has become a routine. She needs routines. If she is familar with a place she will do well. She will probably never walk on a leash for daily walks, she will be too afraid. She just needs her back yard and her home. If you ever go on vacation she will need a dog sitter in your home. She will never do well taking a trip or going to boarding. Honey has become a bit protective of her people. If you have company she will stay away, however there have been incidents when a stranger turns their back she will try to nip at their butt or ankles then run away when they turn around. We feel she protecting us. We would not call this aggression it has never led to more than a nip and then she runs the other way. She does not do it with all people. The key would be for her to get to know your guests with treats. She would do best in a home with no children because of the possible nipping when friends come over. She is good with dogs, however she will be the alpha dog. She does not play with other dogs either, she just wants her people. She is a calm dog. She has no anxiety really. You can leave her to free roam. She never uses a crate. She can be trusted. She will not chew or get into anything.  She needs a secure fenced in yard and someone home during the day. You must be located within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana.  She is vaccinated, spayed , microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##2057193##

Story
Meet Millie a Golden Retriever we rescued from a puppy mill. Millie is a Sanctuary dog and available under our Foster to Adopt program.  Millie was born Sept 25, 2022. She weighs 50 lbs.. She is a gentle, sweet and loveable soul. Millie is in a foster home. She has gone from being terrified of people to loving everyone at her foster home. She will dance around for treats, and play with other dogs all day in her foster home. However, you will not see the happy side of Millie for a few weeks. She reverts to being afraid and  terrified in new surroundings and with new people. The trusting process will start all over again.  She needs a special home.  She will cower down when someone approaches her.  She will lay in a corner with her head down at first. She will not come to you. She will need to adjust on her own time   She is very treat motivated, although the first few weeks she would not take any treats from us. She was too scared. She does not walk on a leash, she will lay down. Once she trusts you, she will walk a bit on a leash, however she still has a long way to go. You may have to carry her outside for a while. SHE MUST HAVE A SECURE FENCED IN BACK YARD She gets along great with other dogs She needs another friendly, submissive, younger, easy going dog in the home to teach her how to be a dog, this is a must  She needs an adult in the family who is home more, no young children under 10 years of age, although she loves all people and kids she is skittish.   She sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night. She sleeps through the night, without a peep as long as the crate is in the bedroom. If we put the crate in another room, she will bark . When she first came here she had a open door crate in the family room which was her safe place. Mille will need to be crated when you leave, she will chew up things and counter surf. This is one of the reasons that she needs a home where the adopter is home during the day. She does not like to be crated.  Millie will take time and patience for her to come around. She needs a special home. Thankfully treats are the way to her heart, but not at first.  She is comfortable in her foster home. She will get into things when you are not watching, she will chew things like pillows, and indoor plants.  She is housetrained , however the foster home does have a pet door so she goes outside as she pleases. Millie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She is a sweet, gentle unsocialized girl that came from a bad puppy mill and needs a lot of patience before she will trust you.  We are looking for the right home,  Only apply if you are serious and meet our adoption criteria. You must work out of your home or be retired. She can not be crated for long periods of time. Can you carry a 50lb dog to the back yard if she won't walk?  You must have a secure fenced in yard, and another confident and happy dog to show Millie how to be a dog. You must live within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana. For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##1804545##

Story
Courtesy Post- This Bonded Pair.... Rex ( Male ) Dina (Female) need a home together. The description below has been written by their owner. Meet Rex & Dina (affectionately named by the grandkids after dinosaurs). My husband and I adopted Rex and Dina together in 2021; however, in 2023 my husband was tragically killed in a car accident. After much consideration, I have made the difficult decision to seek a new home for Rex and Dina. They have always been together, so I would like to rehome them as a pair. It pains me to consider this, as my grandkids and I love them dearly, but it is the right choice for our situation. Rex & Dina are male and female 3.5-year-old golden retriever/ lab mixes born on 11/24/2020 and they are 65 & 70 lbs. They are siblings and up to date on veterinary care spayed and neutered, microchipped and do not have any known health problems. Rex looks more like a Golden Retriever and Dina looks more like a yellow lab. They get along very well with children and most other dogs/cats. Rex likes to be the leader and Dina follows. Rex can be an escape artist in an unfamiliar place, so a minimum 5-foot fence is necessary. They are excitable, playful, have a submissive nature to people, and love to cuddle -- though they could benefit from further training for leash walking, etc... They are trustworthy and accustomed to be in a home un-kenneled. Adoption Info: Please submit an application on our website. We are looking for a home where someone is home during the day . Rex and Dina prefer to be the only dogs in the home. Both dogs get along well with other dogs; however, Rex requires a slow introduction. Both dogs are great with kids, however children 7 years of age or older are preferred. If your application looks like a good fit, we will request photos of your fenced in yard and vet records of your previous dog. They must stay together. We will do the initial screening of your application . We will forward your information to the owner and they will contact you if your home looks like a good fit. Rex and Dina are at their owner’s home in Portage, Michigan. ##2079341##
