Story
Denali is an adult Lab/Pitbull mix (born 2018) who is looking for a new home where she would be the only dog and would receive lots of love and care.  Denali gets along well with strangers and older children (age 10+), but is not good with other dogs or little kids.  She is very well trained, housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash and knows some commands.  She's a little vocal sometimes and will let you know if she has something to say.  Denali is a pretty calm dog and she likes to give kisses.  The perfect home for Denali would have a fenced yard and be with people that have lots of love to give!  The suggested adoption donation for Denali is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.  ##2297187##

Story
Meet Maverick, a Lab mix, born Jan 2020.  Maverick is looking for a quiet and consistent place to call home.  He is a little unsure of males and would do better with a female person and a female dog friend.  Maverick prefers to have another dog or cat around the house.  Maverick enjoys being active and needs a fenced back yard with at least a 6 foot fence and room to play with his jolly ball.  He is not a fan of sharing his toys and will need a quiet place by himself to eat meals.  He is crate trained, but would enjoy it if you work from home or don't leave him alone more than 6 hours.  Maverick is a nervous guy and will need some time to adjust to new people and a new environment.  Once he get to knows you, he will enjoy snuggles on the couch! The suggested adoption donation for Maverick is $315. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Story
Terrified in a bustling kennel, quivering in a corner, bewildered by the situation, stood the endearing baby Armani. His moments seemed numbered, nearing what could have been his last hours. Thankfully, a compassionate Muddy Paws Volunteer intervened just in time, bringing him into her care. Serendipitously, luck was on his side. Born in July 2022, Armani is a Lab Mix now seeking a forever home filled with unconditional love. While initially timid and wary of new faces, he warms up quickly with patience and affection. Armani, the epitome of cuteness and affection, craves the company of his humans, whether snuggled on the sofa or frolicking outdoors with his toys. His happiness knows no bounds as long as he is by your side. Given his timid nature and ongoing journey to regain trust in the world, Armani would thrive in a child-free environment, preferably where he is the center of attention, and a fenced yard would offer him a secure space to release his energy. Preferring to be the sole canine, Armani revels in being the ruler of the roost. He displays remarkable intelligence, making great strides in his training, nearly mastering commands like Sit and Lay Down. To help ensure Armani has the smoothest transition into his furever home, he will require a couple of sessions with one of our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based Trainers. Lucky for him, every dog adopted out through Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue comes with lifetime free behavioral training with one of our Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based Trainers! The suggested adoption donation for Armani has been partially covered by a group of animal lovers who want to see Armani in a safe, loving home, his adjusted adoption donation is $150. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Adoptions for Armani are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that s/he can continue to take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainer. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states that alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##1635376##
