He enjoys exercising and loves to run with four-wheelers. When off lead, he returns home. Dash doesn’t mind being socialized with other dogs (cats unknown). He is good with kids, walks on a leash, knows commands, and is potty trained. He loves companionship: he is always excited to see you, travels well on extended car trips, enjoys boating, swimming, sleeping on beds or under them, loves attention and being petted, but isn’t a big barker. My son wanted a puppy because his emotional support dog is getting old. We went to see 10 lab mixed 4-month old puppies at a house in the country. One of the puppies was outside the pen where all the puppies were eager to be seen. This puppy came running up to get all the attention. He was cute and persistent. I called him Houdini and my son started calling him Houdini. I warned that he might live up to his name. We adopted Houdini and one of his brothers to help be a settling companion. Once home the 2 thrived and accepted our 2 other outdoor dogs - then also my son’s support dog. Houdini has demonstrated his ability to climb ladder-like gates and dig holes to get under fences. Most recently Houdini pushed out the gate to capture one of my egg-laying hens! Very gentle mouth, no blood but a dead chicken is a behavior that we cannot have on our small farm. So, he can walk on a leash but he could be much better. He knows that cinder blocks keep him from digging out & that he is loved!

Hello!! My name is Maddox and I am about 7 months old! I'm a playful and loving guy, I warm up to everyone I meet immediately. I was surrendered to HOPE because my owner felt he didn't have enough time for me and also, his cat didn't like me very much. I do okay with the lobby cats here, they even freak me out a bit but maybe it would be best if I was in a home with dog-experienced cats, just incase. I hadn't met many dogs before I came here but I do just fine with the ones I've met so far. I may need a home with older kids, I still haven't learned not to jump quite yet, and nobody wants a little kid getting hurt because of me. I'm a great guy! The people here also think I'm kennel trained, I stay nice and quiet and haven't had a mess yet.

My name is Ariesta (Ah-ree-stah). I'm a very smart and sweet 17mo girl. I graduated from 2 levels of obedience classes. I know: sit, wait, free, down, heal, shake, stay, come, kennel, spin, crawl, potty, leave it and go to bed. I'd love to show you my skills as long as I get yummy treats & neck scratches. I love to be right next to my people all the time. I tend to have a fear of missing out. My family had high hopes of training me to be a therapy dog. I tried taking the CGC class but I wasn't able to pass. I just get so excited that it's hard to contain myself. Also, small kids, big crowds, and other animals overwhelm me. My last owners are a special needs family that need a therapy dog to help keep the calm and stress levels down. I'm more of an excited, in-your-face-with-love, gotta-go-play kind of gal. I love big yards where I can run! I love to play games, lead my walks and swim! I'm extremely protective and can be fearful. I want a family with teens where I'll be the only pet.
