Story
My son wanted a puppy because his emotional support dog is getting old. We went to see 10 lab mixed 4-month old puppies at a house in the country. One of the puppies was outside the pen where all the puppies were eager to be seen. This puppy came running up to get all the attention. He was cute and persistent. I called him Houdini and my son started calling him Houdini. I warned that he might live up to his name. We adopted Houdini and one of his brothers to help be a settling companion. Once home the 2 thrived and accepted our 2 other outdoor dogs - then also my son’s support dog. Houdini has demonstrated his ability to climb ladder-like gates and dig holes to get under fences. Most recently Houdini pushed out the gate to capture one of my egg-laying hens! Very gentle mouth, no blood but a dead chicken is a behavior that we cannot have on our small farm. So, he can walk on a leash but he could be much better. He knows that cinder blocks keep him from digging out & that he is loved!

Story
This is Country. Please give him a chance! We are having to relocate faster than we originally thought and he needs a home NOW! He doesn't do well around small children or dogs but is fine around bigger kids and cats. He has been in a home with dogs before, but I haven't been able to have him around other dogs. He's a good boy that is kennel trained & housebroken, and doesn't chew or dig. He does bark a little. He's around 6 or 7 and 40lbs. He's the sweetest dog but is high energy and gets a little nervous sometimes. He just wants a little love and to finally find his forever home. The shelters are not taking him and we are running out of time. If you can find room in your home and heart for him, please do- he could really use a Christmas miracle at this point! He comes with a kennel, flea/tick medicine for approx 6 months, and food.

Story
George was dumped out in our area and during a cold and rainy snap he followed my husband home. I let him in, fed him, and dried him. We noticed he has a lot of energy and he has not been playing well with our other dogs. He loves to play fetch and needs someone who can teach him how to run on a leach and exercise him regularly. We have paid to get him neutered, we have given him bravecto, and had our vet check him out. He’s healthy and doesn’t have any health issues he just needs attention and training.

Story
Approx. DOB: 8/23/20                Approx Weight: 51 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Rocky is very sweet, a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He can be goofy and silly sometimes. He is housebroken and crate trained, however if left alone for 8+ hours in a crate he becomes very stressed and will have accident. He has been started on a anti depressant that really helps his anxiety when left alone. He is calmer now and has had no accidents since starting it. He gets along well with other dogs, but does not care for large male dogs that try to dominate him. He is a lover and really doesn't want to fight so he tries to bluff his way out of them. He has done well with children at our Petco events but there are no children in his foster home.  He will need a fenced yard and would do best with someone that works from home or has someone at home most of the time. Rocky is a love bug and really enjoys being brushed, snuggled with and just hanging out with the family. Rocky is going to make some family a wonderful companion. I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
