Story
We got him from humane society. He was about 10 months old. He’s now about 5.5 years old. He has high anxiety and pulls on a leash. He takes medication for anxiety which helps some. He’s a good boy who loves the outside and to play. We cant keep him because my health has had a change. He needs to go on daily walks and a 6 ft fenced yard.

Story
Meet Junie (aka JJ / June) ❤️ Big floppy ears, long legs, and so much love. Junie is a goofy, springy, sometimes derpy girl. She loves to run and gets the happiest zoomies when she has space to stretch her legs. She LOVES to play fetch and tug. She also loves to snuggle and is fully convinced she’s a lap dog. She can be very timid with new people—more so men—and tends to be fearful in unfamiliar environments. She may bark reactively when she feels scared or overstimulated, but this is fear-based. Though she has a big bark, she has never shown aggression. She needs patience, slow introductions, and time to feel safe.  JJ is especially fearful of large dogs and can become very anxious around them. Once she feels comfortable, she is incredibly sweet, affectionate, smart, and playful. She is very food motivated and loves treats. She also absolutely loves kids and has been gentle and loving with ours. Things that help her: • Slow introductions • Calm voices / energy • Time to decompress • Space to RUN • Fetch / tug time • Treats Things to know: • She will bark when she’s nervous • She startles easily • She can be a total baby • She’s goofy, loving, and full of personality once she feels safe

Story
We’ve made the difficult decision to rehome our 2.5-year-old chocolate lab. He’s a sweet, energetic dog and deserves more time, space, and attention than we’re able to give in this season of life with our 4 young kids & our other older dog. Our goal is to find him a loving home where he can really thrive. If you or someone you know might be a good fit, —we’d love to connect and make sure it’s the right match 🤍

He is incredibly sweet with every person he meets and is a total social butterfly who doesn't mind hanging out with other canine friends.⚠️ A quick note from Brutus: "I used to be a bit of an independent explorer if left outside alone! But now that I'm neutered, I'm hoping to leave my runaway days behind me. Still, I'd love a secure yard and someone to keep me company during potty breaks."If you have a spacious couch, a secure yard, and an unlimited supply of butt scratches (his absolute favorite thing in the world), Brutus is ready to be your loyal companion. Story
Meet Miley, a 6-month-old mixed breed pup with the sweetest personality and a playful spirit to match. At around 41 pounds, this black-and-white beauty appears to be a Great Dane/Lab/Bully-type mix (best guess) and is still growing into her big paws and learning all about the world around her. Since coming into foster care, Miley has become so playful! She is mid to high energy and enjoys playing with humans and other dogs. Miley also does well with young children thanks to her friendly and gentle nature. She’s still waiting to be tested around cats. Like most puppies, Miley is still learning her manners. She knows “sit” and “drop,” uses the dog door, and is working on potty training and leash walking. With patience and positive reinforcement, she’s sure to keep making great progress. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, playful pup to grow up with your family, Miley may be your perfect match! All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250.
